The empire of Erla- Erla is a magical place. It's a beautiful empire filled with the most exotic looking animals and plants. It's located between two mountain ranges in a gigantic green valley. This mountain ranges aren't only beautiful and intimidating, they also protect the empire would it be under attack. It's hard to find your way in the mountain if you aren't familiar with the grounds. The only way through it would be with a guide and even then it's hard to pass with huge armies. The weather is often very cold and there isn't much food to find to feed huge groups of people. One of the other two borders is protected by the sea and the last border is the only easy way to invade Erla. That side is heavily guarded and the army is located in that area. It's not know where exactly but it's a clear sign that Erla is ready to fight back. In one side of the valley is the ground very fertile so most of the people outside the cities are farmers. They live off the fruits and vegetables from their farm. Those exotic fruits and vegetables are sold through not only the empire but also the surrounding kingdoms and empires. Most farms are not small personal farms but farms where multiple families work together. Those farms are often owned by one family but provide work for almost a whole village. The other side of the valley is one gigantic wood. The trees are around 150 feet tall and big enough to live in. The people there live in treehouses, their villages are connected with bridges between the old trees. This side of the valley lays the closest to other kingdom's and there is only 1 real road through the woods. This way other royalty and traders from all across the globe can come. The people who live in the woods are usually well trained and most dream to enter the army one day.

The empire of Erla has a few cities shattered around the empire. Their capital lays between the two parts of the empire. Its the biggest city and in the heart of the city lays the royal palace. The royal family has ruled for centuries. They are rumoured to be descendants of the very first people who set food in the empire. At the moment Erla is ruled by Empress Mirimah. She's not a loved monarch. Her rule is bloody and violent and some even go as far as saying she kîlled her husband to rule alone. She's a cold hearted woman who doesn't let anyone disobey her. The people of Erla despise her and there are rumours of a revolution to set one of her oldest children on the throne. The royal symbol is a Phoenix which is seen everywhere around the empire. Though Mirimah's reign is bloody and there is no freedom of speech, she's faith accepting towards religions that aren't her own. There isn't a really big religion in Erla, many gods and goddesses are worshipped but so far the Royal family isn't know to follow one religion. Erla is a traders kingdom. Not only through the road in the woods but also through the sea come many merchants to trade silk and more against exotic animals, fruits and vegetables. They have a few cities that lay across the coast. There come people on land and travel further to trade in the capital or stay in the cities enjoy the warm weather and kind people. Those cities are full of music, culture and trading.

In Erla there are many different Ethnicities. Because of the trading and travelling the population has mixed and there are many skin colours, eye colours, body and face shapes. Of course most people do have the same ethnicity but it isn't a strange thing to see other ethnicities. At this moment most people have a light yet tanned skin. Common hair colours are brown and blond, all kind of shades. Most people have brown eyes yet sometimes they have hazel or green ones. Other skin colours and hair colours are seem more too but these are the most common ones. The royal family is more mixed that the common folk because of all alliances by marriage. In Erla it's not special if the ruler takes consort. Many emperors had consorts and one wife, the empress. This empress was often a princess from another kingdom and they married for political reasons. The consorts were either the women the emperor loved or those who could bear sons for him. Those consorts were respected and treated like they were queens themselves. The only ones they should obey were the empress and emperor. Many have fought each other for the emperor's favour and love. When they were disgraced they were send to a palace far away from the capital to live out the rest of their days alone. The last emperor had only two consorts before he died. They left him one son and a daughter, both are still alive together with their mothers.

[Erlaxon]
Erlaxon is also called the old language. It was spoken centuries ago and is still used in traditional rituals of sometimes in the royal family. It's a hard language to learn and some say it was stolen from the nymphs that rumoured to ever lived in Erla. Almost no outsiders speak this language and because of this it's often used as code language. In the royal family it's taught from a young age and all of this family speak it fluent. They often use this go show their superiority over the common folk, or at least they used to do so.

[English]
Today English is the most spoken language in Erla. It's a fairly easy language to learn compared to Erlaxon thus easier to speak with outsiders. It's also a language big across the globe so everyone can understand each other. Most people in Erla don't take the time to sit down and learn Erlaxon and only speak English. It's the national language and spoken at all events and more. The only moment it isn't spoken now when there is a tradition ritual going.

[Other languages]
Like was said before, Erla is a place with many different inhabitants, therefore there are many spoken languages. The most spoken are English and sometimes Erlaxon but there are much more language that are spoken in Erla. Small groups of people gather and speak on their mother language. In some cities there are different parts where different languages are spoken in each part so all people have a place that feels like home.

❒𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
Magnus is the face of politeness. He's calm, soft spoken and always overly polite. Even to those who are of lower birth than he is. His words are carefully chosen to not offend people or at least, not offend in a way that they can accuse him of being rude or disrespectful. He's a calm person who doesn't easily gets thrown off and almost always manages to keep his calm. He doesn't act on emotions and quickly studies the situation before acting in a way he sees fit as the best and the one that will hurt the fewest people. He's a brave and kind prince who puts his empire before his own needs. He has been spotted feeding those who were in need many times before, even when it was his food or payed from his money. There is no one more loved by his people. His kindness and help made them love him. Love him enough to want to put him on the throne. Something he doesn't seem to want. He keeps denying their offers, saying he doesn't want the throne. Not while his mother is on it. Not when he would get it with bloodshed. He is a humble prince, not someone who demands respect but much more earns it. He doesn't want to have your money or your compliments, he just wants you to feel nice and be alright. What he does is not to get compliments but because he wants to help. Or that is how it seems.

He seems like the perfect Prince Charming, doesn't he? Well that's too bad because everything you have read above is nothing but a mask. You see, Magnus couldn't care less about his subjects. To him they are just pawns in his games, much like everyone else. Unlike his mother who is openly brutal and cruel he hides his darker parts. He makes people believe they can trust him, that he is of little threat other than his need to do always good, and then he stabs them in the back. Sometimes literally. He isn't afraid to use violence or even kîll someone to reach his goal. You might wonder what his goal is, well it's actually very simply. His goal is to have power. It is all about power, or at least that is what Magnus believes. He holds little care to anyone, putting himself above anyone. He's a master manipulator who can easily switched mask to make people like and believe him. He knows what to say at all times. At all times of the day he hides behind his mask of fake calmness and kindness while at the same time he's planning the down fall of almost anyone around him. This games are the best part of his life. He loves to see the face people as they see that he was not the kind prince they expected him to be. That he wasn't some weak boy they could easily push around. They mean nothing to him, their down falls are just an other succeed in his life. Once them have disappeared from the court, sometimes the earth, he will forget their names. He will forget them and take someone else to fool. To manipulate till they are all alone and he can finish them. He enjoys doing this. It's fun to see how little work he has to do, people are easily influenced by those they think they can trust. And even when they don't think they can trust him, it's easy to manipulate them. They do all the work for him, battling in their mind if they should trust him or not, he only has to show kindness and slowly they will trust him. Even if it takes a long time. He has enough patience to wait, and strike when it's time.

Not only is he a manipulator and an actor, he is also good at playing mind games. Usually with those who challenge him. His words make you doubt even those you trust the most. He knows what to say to make people confused, terrified and feeling like they are all alone. He doesn't even has to do much, just give them a smile, a little lie or a sentence that can be heard in different ways. Often enough to get so suspicious that they push themselves away from anyone that can help them. Often enough to cause their own downfall and he only has to watch. He's not only good in playing mind games, he also knows how to insult someone without actually insulting them. Low blows that are either not noticed by those around them or not seen as an insult by anyone but the one he seeks to hurt. One thing that you might think now, that he's a horrible person. I can't disagree with that because he is. But you should also know that he has another side. A side so deeply hidden even he sometimes forgets it's there. A side of him that is still a small boy, someone who longs for the love and kindness he has barely been given. A side that is insecure, afraid to fail and to fall. A side that wants nothing more than to get those compliments he has never got. One that fears to be a disappointment. A disappointment to himself, his mother and even his little sister. Like was said before, he holds little care to anyone who isn't him. But there are a few exceptions, those who have been his rock since he was a child. The old captain of the guard, one of the few people he respects deeply. Or his twin sister who is not aware of the person he brother has become. Those people he does care about, not more than about himself. But he cares enough to keep them safe from the things he will do  once he ascends to the throne. He will keep them out of his games when possible.

❒𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲
𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘔𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘩 - The empress of Erla and mother to Magnus and his twin sister Kösem. She is the wife of Emperor Ahmed and alone ruler since the death of her husband years ago. She's a cruel woman who rules the empire with an iron fists. Even to her own children she is known to be cold. Especially towards her only son, Magnus. She did love him, deep inside but she rarely showed it. More often she would push him to be his best. Their relationship is stained and though Magnus does respect his mother and does not wish her any harm. He is also planning to get her of the throne.

𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘥 - Magnus' deceased father. He had a much closer relationship with Magnus than his mother had. He had been a kind ruler, full of love and mercy to everyone. To his children was he the perfect father, kind and loving. He raised them with kindness, never once raising a hand to them. Magnus still grieves his father's death, even many years after and when someone says something bad about the man he will quickly shut them up.

𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘒𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘮 - Magnus' twin sister and daughter to Emperor Ahmed and his wife Mirimah. She's the heir of the empire after Magnus. She's deeply loved by the common people because of her charity works and kindness. She's one of the few people Magnus still manages to care about. He wants to protect  her from the cruel world more than anything. They two of them do almost everything together, many days you could see them walking through the gardens together, smiling and holding hands. They are seen as the perfect set of twins, golden prince and princess who bless the empire with their good hearts.

𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘏𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 - Magnus' half sister and only child of Consort Asye. She's the first child of Ahmed and 25 years at this day. She is a quiet woman who doesn't speak much, probably to avoid the wrath of Empress Mirimah. She and Magnus aren't close and they probably never will. Magnus was the reason he'd loved got executed and she will never forgive him for that, not that he cares. She is only a consort's daughter anyway. One who doesn't even got a son, she's not from any importance. She is to be married off soon  to make an alliance between some important family and the empress.

𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘔𝘦𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘥 - Magnus' half brother and only child and son of consort Maria. She was the favourite of Emperor Ahmed and it's known that the empress despised him.  The only reason she hasn't executed him yet is because he was shown to be useful. He would have been heir after Magnus but was forced to give his spot to his half sister Kösem. He doesn't show it but Magnus is fully aware that he hates him, that feeling is mutual. He plans to execute his brother after he ascends to the throne, if his mother doesn't do that before him. Her hate is even brighter than his.

❒𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲
Many years before Magnus was born Emperor Ahmed was alone. He didn't have a wife. He had one consort but they didn't love each other and she only had given birth to a girl, not the boy he hoped for. He feared he would leave the kingdom with no heir, and that his life would be void from love. That was when he met her, the clever yet charming servant girl Mirimah. She was unlike any woman he had ever met, she clever and witty, not at all afraid to voice he opinion. He started to fall for her, for her charming smile and sly words. So he married her. He rejected all marriage alliances and married a woman with now money, no power, nothing that would benefit the empire. He was too in love with her to see her true nature, her hunger for power and blood thirst. She didn't take long to get pregnant. The whole kingdom celebrated, because now they could get a heir. The empire could be saved. 9 months later Magnus was born or a warm autumn day only 67 seconds before his twin sister Kösem. It wasn't an easy birth. The empress was having a hard time giving birth and even when the babies were born, healthy and strong, she wouldn't stop bleeding. The emperor ordered the best doctors to save her, even if they had to end someone else's life to do so. He even threatened the execute them all if they didn't save her. The always smiling and kind ruler was getting mad at the though of loosing his beloved wife. Lucky she survived, some said it was magic what healed her. Some said it was her put will to live. Some said blood was spilled that day, blood of the innocent. Yet no one talked about it, not how the empire has a heir. The little prince Magnus. Back then innocent, when did it change?

Let me tell you when changed. After the death of his beloved father. He died of poisoning. One moment he was sitting at his table, peacefully reading some documents, the next he was choking and blood came out of his nose and eyes. He died after a few minutes of suffering. He was found the next day, no one was allowed to enter the chamber without his permission so it took a day before his wife, the empress, decided to take a look at her husband. Her screaming could be heard through the whole palace. That was the day Magnus changed, his mother never gave him affection and now his father, the only person who loved and protected him, was dead. He was alone, or at least that is how it felt. He grieved for days. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. After 5 months his mother, who now was the sole ruler of Erla, had enough of his constant grieving. She forced him to grow up. Forced him to become the one thing he didn't want to become, to become like her. Mirimah's rule was stained with blood. She executed those who were loyal to her husband's other children and made sure hers would be the heirs for the throne. She was known to enjoy the sight of blood and would make courtiers and nobles do horrible things to stay in her favour. All along Magnus grew up alone. Training to become a strong king. His guard, how the captain of the guards, was acting like a second father to him. He learned him everything he needed to know, from combat to strategy. The old man was determined to let Magnus grow up with at least a little love and care.

That was how Magnus changed. He learned how to play politic games, how to be the perfect prince his mother wished him to be. With only support from the captain of the guard he soon learned to trust no one but himself. It was only after a few years Magnus noticed something that would be very useful for him. The people, his subjects, seemed to hate his mother. He knew they feared her, but he wasn't aware of the hatred that burned in their hearts. He was smart enough to play with that. To make himself look like the perfect prince, the one they should wish to have on the throne. So different from his power hungry mother. He would save them from her bloody rule, he would become their ruler and give them the freedom they wishes for. Slowly he started to not only manipulate the commoners but also the nobles. Making them hate the empress without showing it too much. So he would know they would set him on the throne in the end. It was a plan to get his mother of the throne, to demand the power he should have gotten after his father's death. At this point he had distanced himself far enough from his mother to no longer care if she could get hurt in the process. At this moment he was only thinking about that throne. Of course everything of this was a secret, a plan that only existed in his mind. One year ago his mother send him and his twin sister to the academy. This will be his second year there.

The people in Erla usually posses this stranger power. The power of blood magic. It's a dangerous kind of magic that isn't used that often. What is this exactly? Allow me to explain. Bloodmagic can be anything, from curses to healing to making food taste delicious. The only thing it needs is blood, human blood. The more blood, the more powerful the magic can be. If it's your own blood the magic gets stronger, especially when it's your life blood. Which basically means you died to cast a very powerful spell or curse. This only can happen when someone is still strong and healthy, so it has to be a real sacrifice. Then of course you have the case if blood sacrifices. Blood Sacrifices are long forbidden in Erla but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. A blood sacrifice is where someone with blood magic is sacrificed to the blood god to create powerful spells of curses. This is illegal but it happens a little too often. Some people even whisper that the empress sometimes uses it to keep her control over the empire. Usually blood magic isn't that scary. It's a small cut in your finger to make bread taste a little better, or make your dress slightly more sparkly. It isn't powerful unless one has offered a lot of blood or trained a very long time. Even if they have trained themselves to be lethal with blood magic, it still requires blood, sometimes a lot of it, to cast a spell. Magnus himself isn't the biggest fan of blood magic but has learned it to be able to protect himself when needed. His specialty is to create a magic wall around himself that he can extent to make opponents fly back or crush them against a wall. He needs a deep cut on his arm for this too happen and can't hold it for long as he is bleeding and loosing blood fast. He can do other things with blood magic too but keeps more to sword fighting and mind games, rather than magic.
