Sleep deprived 🔞
That was my cue to leave.
•°•♡•°•
Taehyung wanted coffee...
He hated coffee.
I made him a café mocha, it was the best choice for someone who didn't care for coffee.
My question was, why was he so tired? He could have just said he'd had trouble sleeping. But instead he'd told me to mind my own business, in a less than nice way. Which meant he was tired for reasons he didn't want to tell me.
The bell dinged and I looked towards the door, seeing that Soo Ah had come in. She smiled and then she yawned. I glanced at Tae, immediately suspicious.
I stepped to the counter.
"Hi Soo Ah, what can I get for you this morning?"
"Hi Jimin. I think I'll stick with my caramel macchiato, large, and a slice of cake."
"That'll be $5.50. For here or to go?"
"Here please."
She handed me some money, and I noticed her yawn again as I was counting her change.
"You look like you didn't get enough sleep last night Soo Ah," I said as I handed it to her.
Next thing I knew, Taehyung had disappeared back into the kitchen. This just got interesting.
"I didn't, but it's fine. I'm used to it, I usually don't sleep well."
"Ah. I thought maybe you were out on a date last night or something."
Her eyes widened, panicked, but then she smiled, shaking her head.
"Nope, not interested in dating. I just have trouble sleeping is all."
"Hmm, maybe you should see a Dr. for that. They can probably prescribe you something to help you sleep."
"Yeah, I probably should." She fidgeted nervously.
"Your order will be ready shortly." I smiled at her, and she turned and walked to a table, sitting down and focusing her attention on her phone.
There was more to them both being tired then what they were admitting. Soo Ah had been in here this early before, and I'd never seen her yawning like that. And Tae always went to bed early so he could be up and get here with time to bake before we opened.
It could be nothing. Maybe Taehyung had just stayed up too late last night. Maybe Soo Ah really did have trouble sleeping. Or maybe, just maybe, they'd met up and spent part of the evening together. Which would be great.
But I wasn't going to pry. I would just let things progress as they did. My help wasn't needed, that much was obvious.
Jungkook appeared after wiping off some tables, just as I finished preparing Soo Ah's coffee, and he reached for a plate of cake and grabbed the cup, taking them to her. I watched him set them in front of her, heard him tell her to enjoy, and then he came back to stand next to me.
"Hyung, did I see you fix Tae a coffee earlier?"
I nodded, my lips curving into a tight smile.
"I did. He appears to be sleep deprived. Anyway, he came out and said he needed coffee."
"But he hates coffee. He drinks hot cocoa."
"I know. I made him a café mocha."
"Ah."
I looked towards Soo Ah again, and she was eating her cake, scrolling through something on her phone. She took a sip of her coffee, yawning as she set the cup down.
"What's going on hyung? You look preoccupied."
You could say that.
"Have you ever noticed Soo Ah looking tired when she's come in?"
He shook his head. "Not really. Why do you ask?"
I looked at him, wondering if I was making a big deal out of nothing.
"Well, Tae is extremely tired this morning, and Soo Ah has been yawning since she got here."
He looked at me blankly for all of two seconds, and then his eyes widened with comprehension.
"You don't think..."
"I don't know what to think."
"Why don't you just ask?"
"I did. Taehyung told me to mind my own fucking business, and Soo Ah said she has trouble sleeping most nights."
We looked at each other, and silently acknowledged that there was something fishy about the whole thing.
He shrugged.
"I guess we just wait, and see what happens."
"That's all we can do, Kookie."

It got a little busy again for an hour, then seemed to quiet down, and the rest of the day passed with a customer coming in every once in awhile.
Soo Ah had finished her coffee and cake, bringing her plate to the counter, and waving before turning to leave.
I waved, but was busy so I couldn't do much more than that.
Taehyung hadn't come back out from the kitchen until 1:30, when he brought the cakes and cookies for the orders he'd filled for that day. He set everything under the counter, and without a word went back into the kitchen.
Jungkook looked at me from the table he was wiping down, then continued what he was doing.
I decided to go get the money bag, and tell Tae to go home and get some sleep. I walked into the kitchen to see him standing at the sink, washing his dishes. He finished with the last cookie sheet, and turned with a wet cloth to wipe down his surfaces.
"Taehyung, finish up here and go home, get some sleep."
He nodded, and walked to his work area, wiping the crumbs and flour off into his hand, throwing them in the trash bin.
He obviously wasn't in the mood to talk, so I went and grabbed the bank bag, looking back at him one more time before going back out front.
Ten minutes later, he emerged from the kitchen and without looking at either Jungkook or I, he went right out the front door.
I shook my head, hoping he went home and went right to bed. He was a cranky bastard when he was tired.
Jungkook had finished sweeping and wiping off the tables and had come to stand next to me, looking at the door.
"I still think he needs to get laid."
I raised my brows at him.
"I'm just sayin, cause maybe then, he wouldn't be so God damn grumpy all the time."
I huffed out a laugh. "Maybe. But I'm not even sure that would cure his grumpiness."
"Well, somethings got to."
"Kookie, I've been contemplating something, not for any particular reason, kinda just because. But now, I'm starting to see that maybe there is a reason to seriously consider it."
He looked at me, waiting.
"I've been thinking that maybe we should close the shop one day outta the week. We've been doing this for 4 years, and the only time we've closed is...for the funerals. We deserve a day off, to just rest and recharge, don't ya think?"
He frowned, his eyes narrowing a bit.
"Really? You'd wanna close the shop for a day?"
"Do you think it's a bad idea?
"No, not at all. I mean, we could all use a day to ourselves."
"Right. I think since Monday's are always the busiest, Tuesday would be a good day to close, give us a chance to recuperate from it."
"Sounds good to me. What about Tae, doesn't he have to agree?"
"Technically, yes. And I don't have a good feeling about it. Work is his diversion. He's not going to want a day with nothing to do."
"So how do you plan to get him to agree to this."
"Well, he won't have a choice. He doesn't know how to make the coffee, and neither one of us knows how to do the baking. Without all three of us, this place can't run smoothly. So if you and I aren't here, he has no reason to be here either."
He took a methodical breath.
"So, we're going to force him to take a day off."
It was a statement rather than a question.
"Of the three of us, he's the one who most needs a day off."
He brought a hand up, rubbing it down his face to his neck.
"I'm not disagreeing. But keep in mind, he actually could refuse. He has his orders that he accepts as he feels he can fill them. He could always keep coming in just to do that, even if we don't."
I hadn't thought of that.
"Well then, I'll have to go on the website, and revise it to say that no orders will be able to be picked up on Tuesdays, so to order accordingly."
Jungkook looked unconvinced.
"All I gotta say is, good luck. I'm all for having a day off."
"Well then count on it. I'm going to make a sign to hang up announcing that starting next week, we will be closed on Tuesdays."
He nodded. "I'll pray for you, hyung."
I smiled. What was the worst that could happen? Taehyung would get mad at me for deciding to close the shop one day out of the week, and he'd be an asshole about it. It's not like that would be anything new.

I went straight home, let Yoshi out, put food and fresh water in his bowls, and threw his squeaky purple ball a few times for him to fetch.
Then I said goodnight, and after grabbing a coke, I went straight upstairs to try to get some sleep.
It was only 2:30 in the afternoon, yet I felt like I could sleep from now until morning. I put the coke and my phone on the nightstand and pulled the curtains closed, darkening the room a little.
I removed my clothes, climbing into bed naked again. It wasn't something I normally did, but after climbing between the sheets last night and feeling how good they felt against my skin, I didn't doubt this could become a habit.
I closed my eyes, hoping for unconsciousness to pull me in, but instead, my mind filled with thoughts of Soo Ah. That should have disturbed me, but for some reason, it didn't.
What it did do was cause me to reach for my cock, feeling it grow harder as I wrapped my hand around it, stroking it slowly. I wondered what she was doing. Probably working. She'd said her shift was from noon to 8pm.
That meant that on days she had to work, there would be no meeting up. Because that would just result in me being up too late, and dealing with being too damn tired the next day.
I moved my hand a little quicker, memories of her mouth closing around my cock giving me a jolt of pleasure. So much for going to sleep.
I pushed the sheets off me, knowing I was getting close, not wanting to have to change them before I could sleep.
I stroked faster, my hips twitching and my lip between my teeth. Seconds later I came, shooting strings up my stomach and half of my chest. I dropped my hand to my side, breathing hard, a bit disappointed that it hadn't been Soo Ah that had satisfied me. But she'd helped, even if she didn't know it.
I carefully grabbed a handful of tissues from the box on the nightstand, and cleaned myself up, getting up to toss them in the trash can by the door. I climbed back into bed. I'd shower when I woke up for work.
I picked up my phone, looking at it thoughtfully. I had her number. I hadn't deleted my call history, so it was still there from when I'd called her about Yoshi.
I could text her. Would she know it was me?
What would I say anyway?
I unlocked my phone, and went into my call history. I found the number, and saved it to my contacts under 'insane rain girl', then I tried to think of something to say. I couldn't come up with anything that didn't sound stupid, so I simply settled for saying hi.
Hi, are you working?
2:45pm
If she was working, she may not reply. Oh well, I pulled the sheet back over me, and turned to my side, bunching the pillow up under my head and yawning. I needed sleep anyway.

I couldn't wait for my shift to be over. I was tired, and I could have stayed in bed this morning until the last possible minute, and then gone in to work, but instead I'd decided to go to the coffee shop.
I'd been surprised to see Taehyung out front, but he didn't stay there long. As soon as Jimin had mentioned me looking tired, Taehyung had disappeared to the kitchen, and I didn't see him again.
I didn't blame him. I was a bit uncomfortable trying to dodge the topic of conversation. It was just as well that he'd left the area.
Now, I just wanted to go home and lie down.
I probably wasn't as tired as Taehyung though. He had walked home, which I think he said was about a 30 minute walk, and then he'd had to get up early enough to be to work by 4:30am.
It was 10 minutes to 8, and I was trying not to watch the clock. A couple guys walked in, hopefully that'll help pass this last few minutes.
They wandered around the store, eventually approaching the counter with their items.
"Will that be all?" I asked as I rung everything up.
"Yep, that's it."
"Okay, that'll be $11.26 please."
The guy handed me the money, and waited for his change, as the other guy took the bag with what they'd purchased from the counter. I handed him .74, and told them to have a nice evening, and they thanked me, leaving the store.
I looked at the clock. 7:59.
The door opened and Jae Hyun, the kid working the next shift, walked in. We'd finally introduced ourselves to each other, and weren't so awkward anymore.
"Hi Soo Ah. Itching to leave huh?" He asked as I came around the counter,
"Hi Jae Hyun. You have no idea. I'm exhausted. I need to go home and sleep."
I smiled at him as I headed for the door, hearing him call out for me to have a good night as it closed behind me.
