Crazy

If I needed someone to hook up with for a night, I could find someone, that wasn't a problem. So why did they seem so intent on getting me into a relationship?

•°•♡•°•

I decided to go to the coffee shop this morning. The weather was calling for rain today, but it hadn't started yet. I was hoping that by the time I was done there, it would be raining, and I could head across the street to the park and enjoy it. It had been two days since it rained. I missed it.

Taehyung had said my next order was on him, so I believe I'll get a caramel macchiato, and a slice of whatever kind of cake was in the display case.

I arrived, stepping inside to a scene I certainly wasn't expecting. The shop was empty, except for the three boys, and now myself.

The blond boy was glaring at Taehyung, obviously in the middle of a heated discussion. I had no idea what he was saying, my mind too caught up in the fact that they seemed at odds.

The other boy tried to get their attention, and it took three tries before the two of them finally looked his way, at which point I'm sure he gestured towards where I was standing.

They both looked in my direction, caught off guard, and I was a bit surprised that Taehyung came right up to me.

He said hi, and I returned the greeting, suggesting that maybe I should come back later, as it seemed they were in the middle of an important conversation.

He'd said no, that it wasn't important at all. Then he reminded me that today's order was on him, and he walked away, telling the blond boy the same, before disappearing through the door into the back.

I stood there for a minute, puzzled over the past few minutes, and suddenly the dark haired boy was in front of me, smiling.

"Sorry about those two. They are just having a disagreement. Why don't you go order, and have a seat. I'll bring it to you when it's ready."

I smiled back at him, nodding and moving to the counter to tell the blond boy what I wanted.

"Hi, what can I get for you this morning?"

"I'll take a caramel macchiato, large, and a slice of cake please."

I glanced at the cake in the display case, and it looked delicious. It was orange, with a pale orange frosting, and each slice had a small wedge of sliced orange stuck on top.

"Is that orange creamsicle cake?"

The blond boy smiled.

"It is. It's delicious."

"Where did Taehyung learn to bake like this?"

He frowned, but it was gone before I could blink, replaced with a smile.

"Oh, uh, his grandmother taught him," he answered quietly.

I sensed he didn't want to be heard, so I just nodded and said nothing further. I walked to a table, sitting down and glancing around the coffee shop. I hadn't noticed before how cozy it was in here, probably because I'd been too busy looking at the boys.

It was small, with only 5 tables. There were cute valances hung over the windows with images of coffee cups on them, everything was in shades of brown, and the walls were cream colored. There were pictures on the walls of carafe's, bags of coffee beans, pitchers of cream, and various desserts. The blackboard on the wall behind the counter listed all the different types of coffee and beverages that were served, and there was a smaller blackboard standing off to the side that I hadn't noticed listing a special "coffee of the day", and also told the flavor of cake being served. There were tiny lights strung across the ceiling every which way, giving it a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I felt like I could sit here every morning and enjoy coffee and a bite to eat.

Suddenly my cake and coffee were put in front of me, and I smiled up at the dark haired boy.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Please enjoy it."

He turned and walked away, and my mouth watered as I looked at the slice of cake in front of me. I picked up my fork, cutting into it and bringing a bite to my lips. I almost moaned when it hit my tongue, the flavor of orange and cream taking over my mouth. It melted, and I closed my eyes, pure bliss taking over my taste buds.

As I sat enjoying the cake, and sipping my macchiato, I noticed that it had started to rain. The morning couldn't possibly get any better.

I didn't see Taehyung come out from the back again, much to my disappointment. I wanted to thank him for the coffee and cake, and tell him how delicious his cakes are.

Oh well, maybe next time.

I got up, throwing my cup in the trash and taking my plate to the counter.

"You didn't have to clean your table, that's what Jungkook is for."

The blond boy stood behind the counter, smiling at me.

"It was no trouble. Could you do me a favor though?"

"Sure, on one condition."

I raised a brow at him, and he let out a giggle, causing a quick smile to curve my lips.

"What's the condition?" I asked carefully.

"You tell me your name."

I quirked my lips into a crooked smile.

"It's Soo Ah."

"Hi Soo Ah...I'm Jimin."

"Nice to meet you Jimin. Now, about that favor..."

He laughed.

"What can I do for you?"

"Could you tell Taehyung that I said thank you for the coffee and cake, and please tell him that his cakes are out of this world. I have never tasted anything so delicious before."

He blinked a few times.

"Are you sure you wouldn't want to tell him yourself? I can go get him."

"No no, it's okay, I'm sure he's busy. I don't want to bother him. Just let him know for me."

"Okay, I sure will."

"Thank you. You have a nice day."

"Thanks Soo Ah. You too. Be careful going home, it looks like the rain has started up again. Do you have an umbrella with you?"

His brows furrowed in concern. I shook my head, giving him another smile.

"No, but I'll be fine. I'll see you again Jimin. Bye!"

I waved at him,  and as I turned to leave, I saw the other boy, Jungkook is what Jimin had called him, and I waved at him as well.

"Bye Jungkook!"

His eyes widened slightly, then he smiled and waved back, and I pushed out the door, immediately lifting my face to the rain.

I moved to the edge of the sidewalk, not even going to the corner to cross, and waited for a break in traffic, running across to the park. My heart felt light, and I loved the feel of the rain hitting my skin, wetting my clothes, washing all my worries away.

☆~☆~☆

Jungkook looked at me as she went out the door, his eyes still wide.

"How'd she know my name?"

"I guess I mentioned it. I also found out her name."

His wide eyes narrowed and his chin went down a notch.

"So what is it?"

"Soo Ah. I heard Taehyung say it when he noticed her, but I asked her to be sure."

His lips formed an 'O', and he looked out the window. I walked around the counter to stand beside him, and what we saw had us looking at each other.

The girl, Soo Ah, had run across the street, and was standing in the park, face lifted to the rain, letting it soak her. Her arms were spread out, and she was turning a slow circle. She was too far away to see her face clearly, but we knew it was her, because we'd seen her cross the street.

"Oh my God." I mumbled.

"What?" Jungkook was looking at me in confusion.

"Oh my God, this can't be happening."

"What hyung? Tell me," Jungkook whined.

"What is he telling you?" Tae's deep voice questioned from behind us.

I closed my eyes. He would pick now to come out of the back. I turned to Jungkook, trying to think of something to say to distract Tae from looking out the window.

"Uh, I was just going to tell Kookie that I found a new flavor-"

"What the hell... is that Soo Ah?"

Shit. Shit shit shit.

"Um, I don't think so..."

Taehyung walked closer to the window, his eyes narrowing as he tried to see better through the rain.

"You've got to be kidding me."

He stood there, watching her spin circles in the downpour, her clothes drenched and her hair flattened.

"I can't believe it. Soo Ah is the crazy girl who stands in the rain."

"Well, clearly, we know she's not crazy, because she's-"

"Oh no. Just look at her. She's crazy."

He turned around and walked back into the kitchen without another word.

I threw my head back, groaning. Everything is ruined. Taehyung will never have anything to do with her now.

"Hyung?"

"It's over kookie. Soo Ah obviously loves the rain, and you and I both know that Tae hates it. It'll never work. They'll never get along."

"Oh...right."

☆~☆~☆

It really didn't matter. I wasn't interested in her anyway. If she wanted to like the rain, who was I to care. I didn't. But she was crazy.

I shook my head as I moved the last batch of cookies for my last order off the cookie sheet to the cooling racks. I couldn't wait for the work day to be over. I was going to go home and take Yoshi for a walk, but with the rain, that wasn't happening. At least I could go home and play with him.

How could she just be standing outside, letting the rain soak her to the bone? What could possibly be the temptation in that?

She was soaked, and would have to go home and change out of her wet clothes, she could possibly get sick, standing in the rain like that, and she no doubt looked like a drowned rat. None of which seemed appealing.

I reached for a box on the shelf, putting a liner in it and adding a layer of cookies.

That possibly explained how she'd happened to end up with Yoshi. He'd taken off during a storm. Surely she wouldn't have been outside in that. If she had, she's even crazier than I thought.

I was thankful that she'd found my dog, and taken care of him. But she was still crazy.

I finished filling the box with cookies, 3 dozen, and tied the string around it.

Two dozen to go. As soon as they cooled, they'd go in a box, and I'd be done for the day. I still had to clean up, wipe down all the surfaces, do my dishes, and put everything away. I looked at the time, It was just after noon. I'd probably finish up close to 2:00.

I was glad I'd brought my umbrella with me. I tried to remember to bring it everyday, just in case, since I walked. I'd forgotten it once, and Jungkook had given me a ride home because it had been pouring.

Today looked like a good day to go home and sleep. I needed to go grocery shopping, and I should probably do that first. Then I could go home and sleep.

☆~☆~☆

I turned the lights off and pushed through the door into the front, seeing Jimin and Jungkook ready to leave.

"What are you going to do for the rest of the day Tae?" Jimin asked.

"I need to grab a few things, my refrigerator is empty. Then I think I'm going to go home and sleep."

"You're going for groceries now, in the rain?" Jungkook questioned, brows raised.

"I should have done it days ago. I literally have nothing left."

"Well I'll drive you. It's raining, you can't be trying to carry groceries home in the rain."

"You don't have to, I'm not getting too much, I'll be fine."

Jungkook shook his head.

"I know I don't have to, but I want to. Why don't you just get an order of groceries that'll last you longer than a few days? I'll help you shop, I don't mind."

Actually, that didn't sound like a bad idea. It got to be a pain going for groceries every week. The only reason I did was because I could only carry so much.

"Fine, I'll take you up on that offer. Thank you."

"Okay, let's go then."

We went out the door, and Jimin locked it behind him. The three of us climbed into Jungkooks SUV, and as he waited to pull out into traffic, I glanced across the street to the park. Of course Soo Ah was no longer there. Maybe she had to work today. I remembered seeing her working at that convenience store. It's not like I would run into her there again, it was all the way across town. I didn't want to run into her anyway.
