It all begins with a thought

That soon becomes so much more.

It all begins with a thought

That sparks the mind and opens the door.

One word can be enough

To set my world on fire.

One word, one idea, is enough

To sound the resounding choir.

It enters as I try to work

On math, music, and science.

In my mind they lurk

And peek out with defiance.

My pen, cannot write so quickly

As the story grows.

And when it ends, I wearily

Let my eyes close.

For the thoughts just keep on burning,

Flaming more and more.

So I just keep on yearning

to go back and write some more
