31. Taking Turns
The weekend passed by uneventfully for the most part. The sickness they had seemed to be weakening by the day. Jimin was still out of sorts on Saturday, but with Lia's care, he seemed to be back to his usual bubbly self by the time evening rolled around. He showed Lia some dance moves that he created after dinner before demanding her to spill the tea about her evening with Jungkook. Apparently Jungkook had left a note for all the rest of them and had just skipped over Namjoon.
When Yoongi came around on Sunday, only sniffles and a cough remained. However, Yoongi acted grumpily still at feeling a touch under the weather. Lia couldn't help but to think he was grumpy cat personified. Even though she was in the apartment all day to take care of him, he spent the entire day alone playing his guitar and trying to write lyrics. Lia had to practically force him to put the guitar down to eat. If Yoongi knew about her and Jungkook, it was obvious that he didn't care. It didn't matter to Lia. The less people she needed to explain herself to, the better. Lia knew that she would no doubt need to save her energy for explaining things to Taehyung anyway. She could only imagine the note that Jungkook left Taehyung in regards to what happened Thursday night.
Monday morning found Lia standing in the bathroom, trying to make sure she was dressed appropriately for work. She still had some marks on her neck though some of them were starting to fade. Lia was in the middle of applying makeup when she heard a knock on the door followed by Yeontan's excited barking. Worried about Taehyung noticing the marks since she hadn't had time to finish covering them, she quickly entered her bedroom to grab a decorative scarf to wrap about it. She walked to the door after, opening it to let Taehyung in.
Taehyung took off his disguise after she had shut the door. He stood there for a moment without saying anything; his eyes landing on the scarf she had about her neck. Lia began to worry that maybe the white and pink cherry blossom scarf was see through.
"I have to finish getting ready for work," she said to break the awkward silence, moving to go back into the bathroom. "How are you feeling today by the way?"
"I'm feeling fine," said Taehyung as he looked at Yeontan as he jumped up on his leg asking for attention.
Lia closed the bathroom door a crack after she entered so she could begin to try to quickly apply makeup to the rest of the markings. However, she had barely touched the scarf to begin unwrapping it when Taehyung moved to open the bathroom door and stand in the doorway.
"Jungkook wrote me a letter," said Taehyung.
Those words caused Lia to drop her fingers away from the scarf as she looked at him. She watched him slip a hand into his pocket to dig out an envelope. So Jungkook didn't just write Taehyung a note. Jungkook probably spelled out that she was his and to keep his hands off.
"What did the letter say?"
"That you two had a date Thursday night and it ended up with you sleeping together," said Taehyung.
Lia couldn't tell if he was upset or not by that as his face remained passive. The silence that settled upon them was unnerving.
"Is that all he wrote you in the letter then?" asked Lia.
"No. He also told me that you have feelings for me like you do for him."
Lia turned her head away; Taehyung taking the action as confirmation that that fact was true.
"So it's true then?"
"As I told Jungkook, it's complicated."
Taehyung didn't say anything as he moved to enter the bathroom. He soon stood in front of Lia and lifted her head so she'd look at him.
"You know what Jungkook also said in the letter?"
"What?" she asked as she looked at him.
"He gave me permission to take you on a date and sleep with you so you could attempt to make sense of your feelings."
"He did?"
Taehyung nodded, digging the letter out. He directed her gaze down to where Jungkook had indeed written that.
"Jungkook must really love you to give me permission to have a turn wooing you."
Lia didn't know what to say. Taehyung repocketed the letter after tucking it back into the envelope.
"Is me and you something that you'd want to explore more then?" he asked, "Or was last Monday just a sympathetic thing?"
Lia didn't know what to say, but apparently her mind had made itself up. She found herself nodding her head before she even realized she was, earning a grin from Taehyung. He moved his fingers to the scarf she was still wearing, undoing it so that it revealed the marks she had yet to properly cover. Taehyung's eyes scanned them for a beat before he leaned forward. Lia felt her breath catch in her throat as she felt his hot breath against her neck; his lips brushing over her sensitive skin.
"I know you have to go to work, but you should be able to have something more than the bracelet to remember me by today."
She backed up into the sink so her legs wouldn't give out as Taehyung marked a part of her neck that had escaped Jungkook's touch. She gripped the sink with her hands as she closed her eyes, letting out a shuttering sigh as Taehyung worked. Taehyung pulled back after a minute - and as she opened her eyes - she noticed the wide grin he was now wearing.
"Finish getting ready. I'll take care of Yeontan and see you after work today. Take this as a sneak peek of what is yet to come."
Lia watched Taehyung leave the bathroom before turning to look at herself in the mirror. She saw the fresh mark that he had left behind; reaching up fingers to brush over it. Her Monday was setting itself up to be a memorable one - and as Lia left after getting ready and went about her work day - she couldn't help but to wonder what Taehyung had in store for her when she got home that evening.
