The Great Cheese Chase

A young boy was running through the night, in his hands was a small red box with strange orange markings on it.

Thump, thump, thump.

The ground shook and rattled. The boy yelped and let out a burst of speed. Behind him, in the darkness, a massive creature was chasing him. It roared and threw it's head back, sounding the hunting bugle for the boy that stole it's treasure.

He was running through a forest, which was thankfully slowing the massive yellow monster down. In the dim light he could just make out a serrated red blade on it's forehead, with huge yellow feathers covering it's body. If the forest would just last a bit longer maybe he could lose her.

A dark shape appeared right next to him, matching his pace with her long strides. She was his getaway bird.

"Thanks Henrietta!" He gasped, jumping onto her back.

The bird, so called Henrietta, cheeped in reply, tossing her huge mane of black feather and pumped her scaly legs.

He bent low on her back and safely concealed the precious box. The monster behind him bellowed once again to, which Henrietta responded with a loud squawk.

More riding-size birds appeared out of blackness of the forest. One was a light yellow color, again with its huge hat a feather on it's head. Another was brown with a similar crest. Also a midnight blue one that appeared to be pure fluff rather than feather. The last two were multicolored and had no crest, they would help him him escape with the stolen goods.

He screamed when a giant beak slammed down right in front of him. Henrietta squawked loudly and jumped to avoid it. The boy looking up the face as a ginormous black and white stripped bird, as big as a mountain and equally as large and the monster that was chasing him. Camacazi.

It yanked it's beak from the earth, spraying dirt, uprooting trees and howled at him. "You'll never get away with this!"

He laughed, but that laughter died away as the forest began to thin out, and the racing fear came back when his team broke out into an open savanah that seemed to stretch for miles in every direction with no cover.

He grit his teeth and urged Henrietta forward, if he could just make it back to the cave, the monster wouldn't be able to follow him. It was too large for a creature of it's size.

The light yellow one, Hope, let out a loud peep and the mountainous mammoth burst from the tree cover, shaking bits of tree from it's glossy yellow feathers. It spotted him and bellowed again, making the very ground beneath Henrietta's feet rumble.

His heart sank even further as two more creatures burst from the forest, the stripy one, and a dark brown one, they brandished the lethal red blades on their forehead and to his surprise, attacked the yellow one.

Now he was being chased by Theta, the yellow one, who was being chased by Camacazi and the the brown one, Vahallarama.

As if she could sense his fear, Henrietta let out a burst of speed, he could see his cave now, which was more like a hole than a cave, and whooped. It looked like they were going to make it.

Then Theta lunged, her beak missing them by a fraction and tripped Henrietta. He flew off of her back as she flapped her wing madly trying to stay upright. The team instantly turned, leaping onto the large yellow bird's face and screeching for their fallen comrade. Theta yanked her head back and he managed to pushed henrietta up just in time to avoid being snapped up by Camacazi's beak again.

Henrietta jumped into the air, opening her wings and pumping them hard to slow their fall as they disappeared into the earth. He yelled in triumph, they had done it!

Soon the small cave below the surface of the earth was full of small birds. The whole team was down here safely and he patted them all to make sure they knew he was proud.

There was a scarping above and a giant yellow head attempted to shove itself into the small crack. Theta was to big to fit in here! He stuck out his tongue and brought out the precious package. He opened it and produced a large, almost flat orange square of cooked cheese. Which he then continued to break into little pieces and fed them to his team.

Theta roared in frustration. "Give me back my cheezit!"

"No you cheese hog!" He shouted back, eating the last piece himself.

And that's how you steal cheese from Theta.
