Little Talks

She didn't like walking around the empty house without him.

He told her he would hold her hand, but she couldn't hear him.

She couldn't sleep, his house made scary noises and kept her up at night.

He just wanted her to close her eyes for a bit.

She didn't want to work, she barely ate, it was hard getting up in the morning.

It was killing him to see her this way.

She went down to the docks a lot, where they would go in the evenings when they were stressed out, only this time she was alone.

He would do anything to get her to hear him just once more.

She met herself, a voice in her head, it told her things.

He missed their little talks.

She wanted the grief to be over, and bury it in her past.

He remembered the times the were young and played, how she was so full of life.

She didn't know if she was wrong or right any more.

He was forced to watch as her mind played tricks on her.

She didn't know what was truth, she had started seeing him in her dreams, where everything seemed alright.

He hated the imposter taking his place but was helpless to do anything.

One day she woke up, she realized he was fake a gone forever, she had watched him disappear.

He knew all that was left of him was a ghost.

She seemed to accept they were torn apart forever, and she should enjoy life even though there was nothing she could do about it.

He was silent.

She told him she would let him go.

He tried to smile.

She tried to move on, but when she couldn't bear it any longer, she told him to wait for her.

He said, she'd see him when she fell asleep.

She heard him.
