Eros' Wrath | s.g.
Gah! It's late I know. >.<

Luna knew that time was running out for her. It was nearly dawn on the day of February fourteenth and she was not in a secure, underground bunker somewhere. For when the sun rose on Valentine's Day there would be blood ties and dues to pay.
Ever since she had joined the guardianship everybody picked on Eros. Weak Eros, thickheaded Eros, scrawny Eros, lover boy Eros, practically useless Eros. That was until, the Grand Fiasco of The Fall of Raven. That was a complete disaster. When poor little Eros fought back.
Luna drifted helplessly through the air, scanning the ground for a possible hiding place. She was thinking about the other's secret spots. Raven quite literally buried himself alive, and wouldn't talk to anyone after the Grand Fiasco of the Fall of Raven. Nobody knew where Jack went, and Feather usually managed to look more turkey than human as a disguise, Sunny and Night didn't care, in fact Sunny was one of Eros' long time friends.
And that left her, she had a hollow tree up north that was pretty remote where she could still work and hide at the same time. A lot of people made wishes of Valentine's Day. And it was very draining.
So she was quite surprised (and honestly a little annoyed) when she found another figure huddled up in the very small space intended only for one person to have a roomy stay.
"Jack?" She sputtered, slinging her bow on her back.
He jumped, startled. And it started to snow a little harder. "Luna, oh um. Fancy seeing you here."
He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and fiddled with the paint brush in his hand.
"Okay, can you please get out of my tree please, you do know what day it is?" She tapped her foot into the snow.
"Whoa, hold on a second. Your tree? I was here first wish girl. You'd better get lost before Eros comes hunting."
"I am not moving you two timing snitch." She snorted, and shoved herself in next to him.
"Wait, Luna!" He whined. "You'll crush my paints!" Jack gathered up the few tubes of red orange and yellow paint and shoved them back into his knapsack. Then he hit her over the head with his paint brush.
"Ow, what was thaaaaaaa..... Whoa, how long have you been in here?" She asked, startled to find that most of the walls had been crammed with paintings of fall leaves. That was his job, to paint the leaves, but she never realized he was so good at it.
"That's none of you business!" He snapped, angry that he would be forced to share his Valentine's Day with in a cramped room with a girl.
"It's none of your business sitting in my tree." She retorted.
"It's not your tree." He pouted.
"Jaxton Poppy Frost, this is my tree and I'm staying." It was then she found the knothole she was looking for and pressed it lightly.
The ground dropped slowly. Jack squirmed a bit, not sure what was going on, but his pride prohibited him from moving. The platform they were sitting on descended into a dark, black pit. Jack wouldn't have been able to see anything it it weren't for the fact that Luna glowed in the dark like a cracked glow stick. Her pale white skin, ebony hair, and purple eyes, all gave off a faint light.
"What is this place?" he asked.
"Well, Raven has his grave, Feather has his pumpkin patch, I have my tree. You really have no business here." She informed, sliding off the circular platform when it jolted to a halt. She was heading toward a door, there was light on the other side of it.
"So this is where you deal with your wishes." He marveled
"Yeah, and I've gotten a lot recently, I wouldn't mind a helping hand if you really have no other place to go." She shrugged.
"Whatever, I don't care." He breathed, following her.
"That's your problem Jack, you don't care." Luna opened the door and Jack was met with the sight on a large spherical room. The corners slouched down into curves to meet the floor.
The place was neatly finished, there was a small bed with the covers all crumpled up. A drafting table with the turned on, and pieces of paper scattered half-hazardly about. Besides that that walls were lined built in book shelves, some contained jars with previous white liquid inside them. The said liquid gave of a faint glow.
"What are those?" Jack asked, picking a jar up. The glass under his fingers instantly fogged up and Fern-like patterns tracked out from beneath his hand.
Luna's eyes grew wide. "Don't touch those, those are someone's wishes."
He put the glass down. "Those are wishes?"
"Yeah, I have everyone's here." She snatched the jar away and started peeling away the thin ice.
Jack shot Luna a disbelieving look. "Everyone's?"
"Name a person, their wishes are here." She folded her arms and challenged him.
He smirked. "Okay, how about mine?"
Luna seemingly waved her hand and a thin vial appeared out of thin air, with what looked like only a few drops of the silvery liquid inside.
Jack's jaw dropped. "Those can't be mine."
"Everyone makes wishes, even your mortal self."
"Prove it," he answered swiftly.
"Come here then, you have to drink it."
He eyed her suspiciously, then took the vial from her delicate fingers and unscrewed the top. He swallowed all of it, but when he passed the vial back it was full again.
And then the world turned into white mist, and slowly, objects started to appear. He saw a high school courtyard and teenagers milling about uselessly. For a moment he was sure this had to be someone else's wish, until he spotted two distinct figures walking along the sidewalk. A tall freckled boy with thick rimmed glasses and neatly combed, slicked back auburn hair. He was holding hands with a girl with wavy bright red hair, and she was laughing. As the couple walked past the boy handed her a small box shaped like a heart. She slapped his hand playfully and they ate the chocolates together. Of course that was just his wish, for the red-haired one girl in his grade to like him. It was the only wish he had ever made in his life. Then it was back to his father, back to the strict rules, the rule following. Back to the cruel punishments whenever his toe inched out of line. Back to the way he had bullied so many others, because they were not perfect like he was. That was, until the night he died from pneumonia.
"That's a very sweet wish." Luna commented, pulling Jack back into the real world.
He jumped again, back inside her strange little hollow. "Yeah, whatever, it was a long time ago, she's grown up and married now. I don't care about her anymore."
She smirked knowingly. "That's okay, I won't tell anyone. And Jack?"
"What?"
"Happy Valentine's Day."
