Chapter Eleven

SELINA

"Bruce, sweetheart, I'm home," I said, walking into our apartment. I saw Robert sitting on the couch. "Wow, you're not in your office for once, what a surprise," I said, coming over to sit by him.

He was reading the newspaper. He looked up at me. "Hi baby," he said, giving me a kiss on the cheek. "What are you doing home early?"

    "Well," I sighed. "I quit."

"Wait..." Bruce widened his eyes. "You quit working for Robert?" I nodded. "Why? You never mentioned that you were even thinking about quitting-"

"I think it just got too much for me, you know? I just need a change... but I just don't know what I'm gonna do now?"

"You could always ask Granny for a job as a waitress," she said. "Would be nice for Ruby to have a break every now and then."

"Oh yeah," I smiled. "Granny did say she would hire me."

"Well then, what are you waiting for?" asked Bruce.

"You're the best," I say. He smiled at me before going back to reading his newspaper.

I walked back out of the apartment and headed down to Granny's.

"Hey Granny," I said, walking into the diner. Granny was behind the counter making a coffee.

"Hello Selina, what can I do for you today?" she asked.

"I know this is kinda sudden but... I was wondering if you had any job openings?" I asked.

"Job openings? To work here?" she asked. I nodded. "Why? Things didn't work out with Mr. Gold?" she asked.

"Yeah... I quit," I said. "And I kinda need the money."

"Why of course, we could use all the help around here," said Granny. "Go get an apron from the back, and you can start by taking out the trash."

"Sure," I smiled. "And where's Ruby? She's not working today?"

"No, she has her day off today," said Granny. "So I'm thankful for the extra help."

I nodded and then went to grab an apron in the back. I put it around my waist and then went around the kitchen getting the garbage bags. There were only two full ones so I tied them up and started to bring them out to the back when I dropped them at the sight of a person laying on their back. They looked all dirty, and they almost didn't look like a person at all... I then walked over to the person, hoping that they weren't dead, and I screamed when I realized that it's Kathryn...

I then start running and screaming at the same time, not knowing what to do.

"Selina? What's going on?" asked Emma, as I saw her and the new guy.

I started to stutter. "She's in the alley."

"Who, Selina? What happened?" asked Emma.

I then lean against the wall and start panting. "Hey, are you alright?" asked the new guy.

I shook my head no but then I followed August and Emma, to see that Emma had figured out that it was Kathryn, that she was indeed alive.

                                     +++

After finding Kathryn, I was invited to Mary Margaret's coming home party. "Hey, Selina," said Mary Margaret, as I opened the door. I smiled. "I'm glad you could make it. Bruce couldn't come?"

    "No," I said. "He's working."

"Ah okay, tell him I said Hello," she said.

    "Of course," I smiled.

And then out of the corner of my eye I saw Robert. Of course he was here.

He locked eyes with me for a second and then I walked over to Mary Margaret's friends who all gave me kind smiles. I then walked over to Ruby. "So, rough first day, I heard?"
"Yeah," I sighed. "I was not expecting to solve a murder case."

Ruby chuckled.  "Yeah, luckily that didn't happen on my first day working, I would have freaked out and never worked there again. But I guess you're sticking it out?"

"Yeah, I mean, you guys need the help, and I need a job," I said.

"Fair enough," said Ruby. "I'll be glad to have someone else working with me."

"Hey, Ms. Blanchard," said Henry, getting out of his seat. He was sitting next to that new guy. I think I overheard his name being August? "I have something for you."

"Well thank you," said Mary Margaret as she opened this huge card Henry gave her. "We're so glad you didn't kill Mrs. Nolan."

I laughed along with everyone else. "It's from the whole class," said Henry.

"And I got you a bell," said Henry, shaking the box."

"Thank you," said Mary Margaret. "Tell everyone I'll be back soon."

"Okay," said Henry.

"Henry, we should get you home before your mom finds out. That won't be pretty."

I looked over to see Emma walking out and when she opened the door there was David. Uh oh.

Archie then walked over to me. "Hey Selina," he said.

    "Hey Archie," I replied.

"How are you doing? I hear that
you're working at Granny's now?"

    I nodded. "Indeed I am."

"What else is new?" he asked.

    "Nothing much really," I shrugged.

    "How's Bruce?" asked Archie.

"He's good, just working a lot," I said. "Hey I'm gonna go grab some pizza," I said.

"Of course, help yourself," said Archie.

I smiled and then made my way over to the pizza box that was on the table. I took a plate and opened the box, and as soon as I did so, Robert came over to me after he was done talking to Emma. I sighed. "I don't want to talk to you."

"But I want to talk to you," said Robert. "I want to apologize."

I smirked and then rolled my eyes as I grabbed a slice of cheese pizza and put it on my plate. I turned to look at him. "An apology is nice Robert, but that just won't be enough this time."

"Tell me then. What do you want?" he asked.

"Solitude," I replied. "Leave me alone. I'm lucky we have a sheriff right here in this very room."

"The sheriff card? Really Selina?" he asked.

"Well it's something," I said. "That I can use against you."

"Selina... where is all of this coming from?" he asked. "I'm sorry I lied to you. It won't happen again," he said.

"No, no," I said, shaking my head. "You didn't just lie, you went behind my back in a professional setting. In a professional setting colleague's are meant to be honest with each other. Why didn't you tell me you were partly working with Regina?"

"Because I knew you'd be against it," he replied. "You wouldn't like it."

"That's right," I said, taking a bite of my pizza.

"But I had to do it. It was the only way to make sure that Ms. Blanchard would win the case."

"Was it?" I questioned. "Was it really?"

He nodded. I smirked. "Whatever," I said, making my way over to Mary Margaret and Emma.

Even though I liked hanging around Mary Margaret and Emma, I wish Bruce was here. He'd make everything better.

For some reason, something came over me. I have the sudden need to accept Robert's apology. So, after some thinking I left my apartment once again to head down to Robert's antique shop. Even though the sign said closed, I knew he wouldn't care because it was just me. I opened the door and as soon as I came into the back of the shop to which I knew he would be, I said, "Hey."

"I'm afraid the shop's closed," he said. But then he turned around to see me. "Selina?" he questioned.

    "Hi," I smiled.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I wanted to accept your apology," I said.

"Really? What changed your mind?" he asked.

    "I don't know, if I'm being honest," I replied.

He nodded. "I'm glad. Do you mind coming with me somewhere?" he asked.

"Sure. Where are we going?" I asked.

"To the woods, up on the hill, where we can see all of Storybrooke," he replied.

"Interesting. Why do we need to go there?" I asked.

"I can't say just yet," he said. "But do you trust me, Selina?" he asked.

I nodded my head. "Yes. I do."

"Good. Come on, we'll take my car up there."

And so we did. We drove in silence until we came to a sudden stop.

We both got out of the car and we started walking.

And then that is when it happened. I felt a swoosh of wind come over me. I remembered. Robert was right. I was Estella. My name is Liana, the Princess of Narnia and the Apprentice to the Dark One. I remembered everything. My heart started to flutter. "Wait," I said.

"No, no, we're very close," Rumple replied.

"Rumplestiltskin, wait," I said, knowing that would get his attention. He stopped walking. He turned around to look at me as I walked closer to him. "I-I remember. And not just in little fragments anymore. I love you."

We then hugged each other. "Yes," he replied. "Yes and Yes, and I love you too. Hey," he said, grabbing my head gently. I removed myself from him. "There'll be time for that. There will be time for everything. First, there's something that we must do." I tilted my head to the side as we approached what looked like to be a old well as moss was overgrowing it.

    "What is this?" I asked.

"This is a very special place, Liana," he said. "The waters that run below are said to have the power to return that which one has lost." Rumple then stepped up on the well and then dropped in what looked like to be a potion bottle filled with magic.

"Is this what I think it is?" I asked as we both stepped back as purple smoke came rushing out of the well.

    "Yes," he said.

    "But I don't understand," I said.

"We're in a land without magic, Liana," he said. "And I'm bringing it. Magic is coming." I smiled. The Purple smoke finally went away and we stood in silence for a moment until he said, "My darling Liana," he said. "I have missed you so much."

I smiled. "And I have missed you," I said.

"You have no idea what it was like just watching you be this completely different person... with someone else..."

I frowned. "I know. But at least I know now. At least we can be together now and we can find your son," I said.

"Yes, I'm so thankful you remembered that. That is after all, why I created this curse. It was the only way for me to come here and find him," he said.

I smiled. "So that means very soon we need to plan a trip."

"Indeed," he said. "Oh," he whispered, closing his eyes. He then rubbed his knuckles against my right cheek gently. "Sweetheart." I stared into his eyes as he stared into mine. He then leaned in to kiss me. My heart started to flutter again. I can finally kiss him. I leaned in a little further until our lips finally touched. As we kissed it felt like it was an eternity, an eternity that I didn't want to end. But alas, I looked into his deep dark brown eyes as my lips parted from his, leaving a bit of saliva on his lip. My nose touched his and he smiled at me. I then nuzzled my nose into his neck smelling his scent and he then wrapped his arms around me. It was the best thing in the world to have this man back in my arms, and I wouldn't want things to change for the world.
