CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
XXXII. BURGERS AND BOQUETS
Natasha wrapped an arm around Amara as they got out of the car. It was Lake Louise, almost like a mirror at this time. Completely still and serene, perfect for them. Natasha fell in love with it as soon as she set her eyes on it. Amara was agast, it was amazing.
"It's like you," Amara whispered. "So beautiful."
"I was gonna say the same thing about Maddison," Natasha murmured into her skin, making Amara laugh softly. They were drunk on the sights and high on the excitement, brush of cool air filling them with relaxation.
"I love you," Amara whispers. "I can't wait to marry you."
"We shouldn't have to wait," Natasha complains.
"C'mon you two," Maddison says. Just then, Natasha's phone rang, picking it up from Shield.
"What do you want fury?" Natasha asks. A short pause. "Okay, we're on our way. Two hours."
"What's going on?" Clint asks.
"Tony Stark just came back."

Coulson was seated at the back of the press conference, an earpiece in so everyone could hear what was going on. Amara was chewing on her thumbnail as she leaned forward. She reported on this jackass, now the bastard was back, and she didn't hate him as much.
"And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark International," Tony says from Coulson's earpiece.
"What?" Natasha demands. "That was his whole-"
"Yeah, what the hell?" Clint asks. Amara just sat there as a smirk tugged on her lips because she knew the dumbass would break eventually. She could almost see the smirk that would be resting on Ms. Potts' face when she heard that.
"Any thoughts?" Natasha asks Amara, who shrugs.
"All bets are off, nobody knows what he'll do."
"How are you so calm?" Clint asks.
"I know this man," Amara says. "He needed to rewrite his legacy at some point. It was all in the cards. Dare I say, It was inevitable." a smirk was playing on Natasha's lips as she looked at her fiance.
"She knows her stuff," Natasha says.
"The man is quite predictable once you get to know his story."
"You two really were made for each other," Clint grumbles. "It annoys the fuck outta me sometimes."
"Oh, we know," Natasha says. "Part of the reason why we do it."

The next few days were a flurry of people and Tony Stark and Obadiah Stain. There was a new red and gold bot SHIELD knew it was Tony, but Amara had figured it out before the public even knew about the Iron man. It was kind of funny actually when Amara had done a little digging, she knew things most people didn't know.
It was their day off, and Coulson was helping Stark prepare for an important press conference, but Natasha and Amara were going shopping. They had a few stops, Rings then bouquets, then possibly some ice cream.
They had most of the things they needed, just bouquets and rings were left, and that was perfect for them. Of course, it was November 3rd, time was ticking until they did tie the knot. And god, were they excited.
But Amara caught a glimpse of the news, Cameras were focused on Tony. She dragged Natasha to it, where Tony was standing.
"The truth is," The man says. Amara watched as more people began coming towards the television. Tony pauses for a second. "I am iron man."
Amara expected no less from the man, who was obviously so full of himself to announce this on national television.
"What a douchebag," Natasha whispers. Amara purses her lips with a sigh and shakes her head.
"Such a dick," She mumbles as they walk away.
Heading back to the apartment with about a hundred missed calls from Coulson, Fury, and Clint (which they ignored), they talked quietly about everything and nothing at the same time.
They could quickly intoxicate themselves with each other (as corny as that may sound), faster than any alcohol. Natasha could sip on Amaras' features before needing to drown herself in them. It was better than any champagne she'd ever tasted, and it lasted longer than a bottle of fine wine.
Forever, possibly.
Amara loved just being with her. It was a love that she needed to survive. She didn't care if Natasha was a poison that was slowly killing her, she'd still be addicted. She could drown herself in the smell of Natasha's shampoo (even if they had the same shampoo it just hit different when it was on Nat). She wanted to wake up to her red hair - even if it did get everywhere - forever and always.
As long as there were together, Amara was happy. She glanced at the ring o her finger as the two of them were watching a silly rom-com on the couch. She watched as it glinted into the light, and she just fell in love with it even more. She just fell for Natasha and realized something.
The two of them were madly in love, and nothing could come between them.
Not yet at least.

Amara was in a kitchen she didn't recognize, holding hands with a little girl. She was talking to Natasha, but worlds were echoey so she didn't know what was going on. She got into a car, her hands on the steering wheel.
She felt panic as she checked her mirrors, realizing she was being followed. After a few dials of her phone, she called Natasha, left a voicemail, and felt the impact.
The next thing she saw was white, but an echoey voice calling for her could still be heard. she could hear screams, not her own, but she saw her vision go black.
How she could feel cold mara didn't know the answer to that. but she did feel pain in her leg, and she let out a scream between her teeth.
Then a voice.
"Should we tell her?"
"Nobody has been able to reach her in three years. well, one person but-"
"You're not on good terms."
Amara tried to scream but nothing came out.
Then she was back in her bed, awake, being shaken by Natasha.
