Chapter Thirteen
Everly remembered everything. All of it. She was still Everly. She was still the same person. She just remembered the rest of herself. She looked up from staring at her hands when the door opened and her mates scent and large presence filled the small space. This converted house was apparently an infirmary and it seemed that the rooms had been split down the middle with a wall to create smaller ones. More rooms meant more beds. Just in case.
Robbie immediately started fussing. Her breasts reacted and filled. The front of the hospital gown was soaked. When she and Liam made eye contact they both smiled and chuckled. This wouldn't be the first or the last time this happened. She remembered. Liam moved towards her and she slipped the gown off her shoulders exposing her leaking breasts. Liam growled lowly and handed her the baby. After she helped him latch and felt that pull she looked back at her mate. Holding the baby with one arm she inched over and patted the bed beside her. His long body stretched out beside hers. They both watched the baby as he ate. She marveled at the beauty. She felt such love for him. Her child.
"Ever since I met your eyes I've been trying to remember something. I just wasn't quite sure what it was." She was still looking at the baby. She felt his eyes on her face. "Then, after I saw Frankie and Henri. I looked for you. And suddenly, I remembered." She looked into her soulmates eyes. They were not just mates as wolves but their human side also. They were true soulmates. The first ever. The most rare gift from the moon goddess. True soulmates are rumored to be the strongest of all wolves. Smart. Resilient. They never back down. They stand for what is right. They had been placed back on earth. Reborn to fight the evil that was rising.
She saw something click in his eyes and his head jerked back and his eyes widened. "I thought they were just dreams.." He trailed off. He jumped up from the bed and started pacing the small space. Running is fingers through his light hair. "I've been having dreams since I was a kid. Really young. Five or six maybe. Anyway, that doesn't matter." It mattered to her but she knew he was flustered. "They felt like me. But it wasn't me. Ya know?" He stopped pacing and looked at me for a brief moment before he resumed his steps.
"What do you think they were?" She asked carefully. She knew they were his past memories. She'd had dreams like that too before she was taken. No more after. That's why it had been so hard on her body to remember. All those brain searing memories all at once. He stopped and stared at the wall.
"They were memories weren't they?" He already knew the answer. She knew he just really wanted conformation.
"Yes." She answered shortly as she laid Robbie on the bed sleeping peacefully. She pulled the gown back up on her shoulders. Swinging her legs off the bed she moved to stand in-front of him. Laying her head on his chest she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him. He didn't hesitate to return the embrace. He laid his head on top of hers. His heart beat settled.
"I knew you. The moment I saw you I knew. I just couldn't place it. Then my wolf just suddenly remembered." He said softly.
"Mine hurt because of the wolfsbane. I had forgotten. I didn't dream anymore. So when my wolf remembered, it was all at once." She sighed into his chest. "Liam, we came back for a reason, why can't I remember that?" She whispered.
"I can't remember either. It's frustrating." This time he sighed heavily. She pulled back and looked up at him. "Your eyes were a different color then." He smiled. "I like the blue." He winked at her making her cheeks heat with a blush. She chuckled lightly.
"Yeah, well you used to be bigger." He rolled his eyes at her.
"We both know I'm the perfect size." He arched an eyebrow and smirked. Her face turned red at his innuendo. She rolled her eyes.
"Can I get some clothes please?" She changed the subject but let her butt peck put through the open backed gown as she climbed on the bed. Big mistake. Suddenly her back was pressed to his chest. One hand on her throat, the other pressed her most feminine core so that her butt was pressed to his crotch. His length hardened against her and her knees went weak. Her breath quickened. His mouth was running kisses down her neck. She felt his canines scrap the joint were her neck and shoulder meet. She pressed herself back against him. She wanted him to mark her. There was no need to wait or get to know one another. They knew each. They would always find each other.
No sooner than she had those thoughts when his extended canines cut through her skin and sunk into muscle. The harsh, burning pain was quickly replaced my lust and euphoria. Liquid heat pooled in her core. His hand pressed firmer into her feminine softness. The only barrier the thin hospital gown. He growled into her neck. The vibration in her body causing a moan to leave her lips. He pulled his teeth and looked down at his mark. It was already healing. A small crescent moon in its place. It would be raw for a few days. He reached up and touched it gently. She moaned again and he growl rumbled from his chest with approval.
"You know that we've just jump started the mating process?" He said it nonchalantly. But she could feel his excitement through the bond that was strengthening between them.
"So the next full moon is when?" She knew what it meant. After a male marks his female then the female experiences heat the next full moon.
"Robbie was born on the full moon. So what? 28 days?"
That's really soon. I voiced my concerns to my wolf.
Everly, this is meant to be.
But we just had a baby. We want another so soon? I couldn't help but question it. If we had another child they would be less than a year apart. She didn't want to have her children feel like she was spread too thin. Then, suddenly all that doubt vanished. What was meant to be would be.
