Chapter 3- Cold Shooting Star

The leader stretched as she reached the palace walls. She took a sip of her water to cool down. She just got back from her daily run. She placed her small towel on her neck. She looked up at the sky. Clear day today huh. She stared up again. Something didn't seem right. She hummed to herself. She walked in through the double doors as the guards took a swift bow. She carried her towel on her shoulder while carrying her water bottle in her hand. As she continued she got a buzz on her wrist. She looked down. A message appeared.

*New message from Semi*

She clicked her tongue and pressed the message. It showed a message in red.

*Emergency!*

She sent a quick voice message. "Is it urgent? Got back from a run and I want to shower." She said taking another sip of water. As she continued to walk to her room a few guards got out of her way. Her wrist vibrated. She looked down. She pressed the message.

*It's the shield. There's some weird thing going on and its going to disable in 5 minutes! It's pretty urgent!*

As soon as the message was seen she bolted. She headed up the stairs and hurried to the second to last floor. She skipped a few steps and continued. When she saw the door to her faction she ran even faster. "Move it! Move it!" She shouted. The guards and workers there moved. She ran into the main control room. Semi was looking through the computer programming and all. Comet came in taking deep breaths of air. "Alright what's wrong?" She said pushing herself through. She peered down and looked at the table like screen.

Semi looked over as she typed. "Were not to sure...it just collapsed. We've kept it stable for this long but it's not going to last much longer." Comet cursed under her breath.

"This is why I shouldn't be going out!" She pressed a few files and typed a few more letters in. "Why weren't you keeping track of it!" She yelled, frustrated.

The little mouse monster looked disappointed. "I apologize...it's just I had assumed that-"

Comet pounded on the monitor it glowed. The flashing died down almost immediately. "Communications restored." read the voice.

Comet looked up at it and sighed. She turned furiously, "Well next time don't assume!" She walked over to her 2nd in command. "You do exactly what needs to be done and when it needs to be done! I didn't give you a position to make messes! I don't want this happening again! Understand!" The mouse monster nodded quickly.

"Y-Yes I-I'm sorry to have disappointed you!" she squeaked. Comet's rage died down. She groaned. She turned and left the room. Feeling steamy and sticky just wanted her to go take a shower. As she walked to her quarters she could hear footsteps behind her. She already knew who it was. Hopefully that they don't decide to bother her she kept walking.

"Hey sister." said the voice beside her. God fucking damn it.

"Jupiter, please. I need to go shower and I have things to do." Jupiter only continued by her side.

"Reeeelax. I'm only accompanying you to your room." she said patting her on the back. "I just wanted to see how things were coming along. I heard what happened." she pestered.

The news spread that fast? "H-"

"I heard from around the castle, I heard you yelling, and we all know now." interrupted Jupiter as she counted her fingers for all the answers she gave. "Your faction sucks at keeping things together." she taunted.

Comet only groaned. Her cheeks puffed up and felt hot. "Don't you start."

Jupiter only laughed. "Relax. You got it all under control right? Then why are you so bent out of shape about it?"

Comet only picked up the pace wanting to avoid being with her. Already knowing that her pesky sister is going to follow her she stopped and turned around. "IF you fucking follow me, I'm going to pull that fucking mask off your face."

Jupiter only hummed and gave a thumbs up.

Comet turned and continued. "God she can be so annoying." She continued as the more busy area of the castle died down and showed the more calm and common area. Though her days went from constantly working she did have her own peace and mind when she was in her room. No expectations, no ground breaking problems, just her.

She quickly walked to her room. The door felt hollow, she was very tired. She walked into the room. Feeling sticky and warm she opened her windows. Letting the cool air come in. She walked over to the door that led to the bathroom. She walked. Looked at herself from the mirror. She stared and stared. She saw his reflection stare back. Comet only looked away. "Everytime..."

She's lived long enough to fear her own face. She hated seeing herself for more then a second. "I need to shower, maybe then I can forget about all this." She quickly changed out of her steamy clothes and turned the shower on. She walked in and drenched in the cool water.

A few minutes later she was out of her room. Changed in a cloak and walking back to what would be her factions HQ. She reached the place quickly. Seeing semi inside there. She knocked on the glass door. The little mouse monster turned in a panic. "C-Comet!" She turned and bowed.

"No need." She reassured. "I'm extremely sorry for acting out earlier. I shouldn't have done that. You're a miracle worker. My best assistant." She said patting her head. Semi's ears flickered up and her tail wagged. The small mouse squeaked.

"It's okay! I'm glad we got everything under control!" Comet smiled.

"Only because of you." She replied. She walked past her to headed to her office. She opened the door to the office and went in. Her monitor flickered as screens started to pop up. She sat down on the chair as more things popped up. Eventually a small caution sign popped up on the corner.

She motioned with her hand as the little symbol grew. It opened a page that was showing a bunch of folders. Different universes and uses etc. As she clicked and looked to see what was wrong, she saw what it was. Quickly she called for Semi.

I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO UPLOAD YESTERDAY!
