Chapter 10- You?!

"2,376 have been protected these past 21 months. We are on a roll." Jupiter happily yelped. "It's crazy how many resources we got to make so much protection." Midnight didn't respond. Just let her sister ramble. Recently activity has dropped. Increasing their efforts for protection. Midnight was on her way to join a small fleet. They'd be on their way to evacuate people from this universe to another. This universe has thousands to hundreds of worlds. Most of them being already taken over. At least 50 still stand. Midnight would be heading out to help evacute the biggest world now. Other small fleets are already there evacuating the other 49.

They'd normally evacute citizens in different regions depending on the world etc. They have machinery that worked as portals that transported them to a vacant world. Which would be The Oasis 2.0.

An empty universe that uses portal gateways to connect the world's in the universe.

Midnight sighed. "You should be heading out. The people are waiting for a voice." Midnight said. Immediately Jupiter realized.

"Holy fuck...YOU'RE RIGHT." Quickly she jumped up and quickened her pace. "What am I doing here!" She scrambled. She then walked up and vanished. Midnight sighed and continued. Then her ear piece rang. She pressed it as a voice came out.

"Midnight." It was Comet. "It's increasing, and fast." Midnight growled. Their soldiers weren't keeping up.

"I'm already on my way, have Phoenix retreat from there and act as back up for the others." A few clicks could be heard. "Comet I want you on the field right away. Help the evacuation on the other worlds."

It was quiet for a moment. "Are you sure..." She said quietly.

Midnight scoffed. "I wouldn't be asking one of our most skilled fighters to help now would I? I trust you Comet." It's almost as if she could hear the smile behind the ear piece.

"If I get out of hand I'm blaming it on you." She said with a small laugh. With that said she hung up.

Midnight sighed. She needed to go. She looked down at her metallic armor. The gem was glowing as the armor started to shapeshift. "Alright then..." She took a heavy step. "Let's get this over with."

Almost in an instant she vanished from the nice clean hallways and reappeared on a street.

Buildings on fire, screams could be heard, the sky turning dark and murky. The city was a battlefield seeing her soldiers fighting off the Nightcrawlers. There were a few people here still attempting to flee.

She quickly picked up her pace. A Dark Cresent making their way to a group of people. She sprinted. Again her forearm armor shifting. She took a leap. Her armor shifting together and became one big sword. "Get away!" She swung her arms. It cut cleaningly through the creature she took a protective stance. The Nightcrawler hissing in pain. She looked back at the group. "No worries I'll be here to protect you." She said panting. Again the Dark Cresent growled and roared. More of them started to appear. Midnight held her stance. Her armor returned back to normal. She gave a sharp whistle. From a few buildings there were some archers. They shot out.

The arrows struck most them. Some immediately dying. The heart breaking releasing their prisoners.

Others glowed. The once dark and violent creatures, reformed to a soft giant dog like creature on all fours.

Those now reformed Nightcrawlers barked and turned. Attacking their enemies. Midnight looked at the group and motioned forward. "Follow the trail. My men are along the path you should be safe once you pass the city." She quietly said. The looked at her in a bit of confusion. This world had humans so seeing her was a bit off. But eventually they walked along the path.

Midnight continued back into the fight. Again the gems glowed starting to shapeshift the armor into forearm swords. She quickened her pace. Back into the fight...

The Nightcrawlers onslaught had now died down. There were of course still of course many still in this region of the world but the percentage has now died down. Midnight headed to one of her commanders. His body glowing from the light he emitted. "Clear up this area. Pick up an survivors down to the west it should be safe for us to gather as many people before we leave this place." The commander nodded. She pulled up her hoodie a little more.

As she walked along the, now abandoned streets, she heard a peep. A small voice. Some people are still here. The soldiers were already catching anyone that could be missing. Though this voice was pleading for help. It sounded like a little boy. She stopped walking and listened. From where...

She looked at both her sides before hearing it inside a building. She quickly walked over. Peering into the building and looked around. The voice was coming from the elevator. Was he stuck?

She approached the door. She gave a soft knock. Sounds hollow. She sighed and cracked her knuckles. She carefully slipped her hands near the entrance. Building up her strength she pulled. The doors were pressured and pulled apart. Grunting she pulled harder. Then eventually opened.

She peered in carefully. Looking down and then back up. It was on the second floor.  She could here the hissing coming from inside the walls, the boy screaming for help. "Hey! Just stay put! I'm going!" She turned quickly and dashed to the stairs. Skipping a few steps before busting through the door. Looking frantically side to side she saw took a left turn. The elevator stay still. "Hey! I'm here, just stay calm! I'll get you out of there!"

She pressed her ear along the door. She didn't hear the hissing or the boy. "He-"

"He doesn't need your help!"

Midnight flinched. She clenched her teeth. Feeling rather annoyed now. She heard a few footsteps. Quickly she noticed what was happening. She moved to the side as a bundle of ink burst out. She kept a frown. Not you again.

The tall figure stood as the ink around him started to be absorb back into him. The young boy cradled himself on the floor. "Midnight."

"Pj."
