~part 32~
Naina's POV:
The bell rang and everyone stormed out of the classroom.
"Hey Chashmish, can you please do my homework for me?" A guy came up to me and I almost screamed at this sudden arrival.
"Um...."
"What you doin Avi? She's so clever why would she help someone like you?" Bunny thumped Avi on his back and they both laughed while I just kind of hung around awkwardly.
"Friends?" Avi offered a hand.
"No - me first." Bunny said, nudging him away.
"Err...
I slipped my hand into Bunny's with a smile, and then Avi's.
"See, she likes me more." Bunny teased.
"Heyyyy what's up peeps?" A girl came from behind and wrapped an arm around each other the boy's necks.
"Who's this?" She said, looking me up and down suspiciously.
"Naina. Talwar."
"Woahhh I heard about you - you're that geek aren't you?"
I nodded slightly.
"Dude we're gonna get along great. I'm really clever too. By the way, I'm Aditi."
I giggled at the boys' reaction when she said she's clever.
"What are you studying?" I asked her.
"There we go, look - I don't want a geeky convo, let's talk 21st century."
I was surprised.
"Alright then, what's "21st century"?"
She dragged me away from the busy boys and whispered secretly.
"So. Which guy do you like?"
"Oh, errr - well, I just came so...."
"Oh that's right - you don't believe in love at first sight I'm guessing?"
"Yep."
"Hmm, well - you soon will." She winked and left me amidst an unknown corridor.
I looked around, clutching my books tightly as I tried to find my way back to the classroom.
I was lost.
"Excuse me?" I asked a decent looking girl.
She spun around and almost flicked her hair in my face.
She pouted at me.
"Um, do you know where C12 is?"
"I'm new here honey." She flicked back and I saw her friends laughing in a huddle.
I lowered my head and walked off.
"Honey? That girl really needs some manners." I muttered under my breath.
As I turned to walk through the doorway, a figure thrust himself and leant against the door.
"God, you really scared me just then Bunny."
He smirked and winked.
"Let me go through."
"No."
"Huh?"
"Not until you tell me."
"Tell me...a guy you like."
"You." I smirked and pushed past an astounded Bunny.
He ran a hand through his hair.

As the days went on, I began loving his company and his humorist friends. We clicked loads of amazing selfies together and I made a portfolio of my first ever best friends' album and stuck it on the wall in my bedroom. I looked at them everyday, especially Bunny.
I was doing great at school, my tests were all fantastic. Mrs Shawn even said I was the topper in the class and all my scores were over 95%. I had good looks; good friends and good academic knowledge. Life was good.
A day in the mid-spring, when an aromatic breeze carried petals and rain drops, I decided to confess my feelings to him.
We were friends and I couldn't help but admit to him that I loved him.
I arrived in the common room where Bunny and Avi were having a pillow fight with Aditi and some others were laughing at them.
I closed the door behind me slowly.
Everyone faced me.
"Oh thank God! I thought it was Miss Maurice. Your glasses really do remind me of her Naina."
"Come on - it's time to go to class! If you don't want to be buried alive then hurry up you slowcoaches!" Aditi packed her books hurriedly and although I was always very punctual I waited by Bunny's side as he packed his books quickly into his bag.
"Come on Chashmish! We're going to be late!" He grabbed my arm and we rushed through the corridors.
"Sorry miss we're......"
We looked around and there was no teacher.
Oh great - the silliness would start. As soon as I thought this, screaming and shouting began again.
I gulped. Maybe this wasn't the right time.
I waited patiently throughout the lesson, throughout the important biology test we were doing that day. My mind couldn't focus on the test at all; I was too fussed about how I would approach Bunny.
When the bell rang, I was the first to get out the classroom and I quickly popped into the bathroom to make sure my face and everything was okay.
I breathed heavily and prayed so that my confession would go well.
I went into the common room again, and this time Bunny was alone.
Right - perfect chance.
"Err, Bunny -"
"Oh hey Naina..."
"Um... I...."
"Oh yes, your money.... I have to pay you back don't I...." he began to reach into his pocket.
"No no... it's not that - I just...."
He stopped.
"OHHHH! Of course - I borrowed your chemistry textbook - here you are." He handed me my textbook.
I smiled slightly and took it. "It's not that - but I wanted to tell you something."
"Oh right - go ahead." He said, biting deeply into his apple.
"Well, I wanted to t......"
Suddenly, the door barged open and a girl with tight shorts and a crop top bounded in and pounced on Bunny.
I felt interrupted by this.
Bunny wrapped his arms around her waist and I saw him leaning into the crook of her neck.
No - it can't be what I'm thinking. It just... maybe - maybe she's his friend. Yes. She's just his friend.
I sighed and waited till she realized.
"Oh, hi girl...." the girl flicked her hair in attitude and leant against Bunny.
I smiled opposite to them.
"Hey....... you're that C12 girl ain't ya?" The girl thinned her eyes and gave me a weird look.
I nodded. Of course - she was that rude girl who I asked directions for on my first day.
"You guys know each other!" Bunny chirped.
"Yeah.... This girl was in search on C12 and I was in search for a boyfriend!" The girl laughed pathetically and I felt uncomfortable.
Bunny giggled and whispered something in her ear.
"Er Naina - this is Lara. She's my special friend."
"Just special?" Lara asked with a puppy face.
Bunny chuckled.
"She's my girlfriend...." Bunny planted a kiss on her lips and I felt my knees going weak.
I felt tears prick the edges of my eyelids and my hands and feet going numb.
"Anyways TOODLES!" Lara waved and strutted off, leaving me and Bunny in silence.
"Great isn't she?" Bunny giggled.
"Oh...you were saying something...." Bunny jerked his head up.
I didn't reply, but I just smiled and left him in confusion.
"Hey! Wait up! What....?"
I felt my voice going shaky and I had to leave before I started to cry.
My feet didn't stop until they reached the toilets and I locked myself in a cubicle and suck down to the ground, my eyes swelling up with the cascading tears staining down my cheeks.
All this planning - for this.
Why? Why did this have to happen?
As the days went on, I realized luck was not on my side....
