As we pulled up to the penthouse Mr. Black said. "Stay here for a minute." I obeyed and he walked around the car and opened the door for me like a real gentleman.

"Thank you." I said stepping out of the car.

"Come with me Miss Mitchells." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the elevator.

"You can call me Maddie too, if you don't mind." I said in a soft voice once we reached the elevator.

"Ok- Maddie, once we get to the Penthouse I will get you settled into he guest room." He said to me.

"Thank you again for letting me stay here Mr. Black." I said to him.

"If I call you Maddie will you agree to call me Jacob? And it's really no problem." He looked at me and gave me a slight grin.

Once the elevator stopped He stepped out into the hallway and led the way into his penthouse. His place was beautiful. The ceilings were tall, the kitchen was perfect and the living and dining room had such elegant furniture.

"Your home is lovely." I said as he gestured for me to follow him down a hallway to a large bedroom.

"Thank you. I am glad you like it. This is your room." He replied. The room was huge a King sized bed lay in the middle with a large sofa, chair, and TV in the corner too. Attached was a large bathroom with a claw foot tub and a decent sized walk in shower.

"Wow... This is amazing." I said and my mouth just hung open.

"Well I will leave to to get settled. I will have my Secretary bring you some clothes you can wear tomorrow morning. Good night Maddie." He said to me.

"Good night Mr. Bl- Jacob." I said correcting myself.

After Jacob left I decided to take a warm bath. Then I heard a soft knock on the door.

"Come in." I said.

"Hey Maddie, I brought you this. You can sleep in it since you don't have anything else." He said handing me a shirt. That was thoughtful of him I thought.

"Thank you." I answered. He then left and shut the door behind him.

After I finished that I went to sleep the bed I had slept on was the comfiest bed I had ever slept in. I was out within minutes.

I woke up the next morning to Jacob shaking me.

"It's 10 in the morning. My housekeeper Mrs. Langley just informed me you weren't awake yet. Are you feeling Ok?" He asked me anxiously. Handing me a glass of orange juice.

"I am doing Okay, I have a small headache still. Thank you for the orange juice." I said taking a drink of OJ and starting to get out of bed. I stood up and walked toward the bathroom. Jacob gave me a weird glare.

"What?" I asked him. Suddenly I realized that I was only wearing Jacobs shirt and no pants.

"Oh gosh." I said try to find something to cover me up. I ended up just using my hands.

"It's okay Maddie. You have a beautiful body nothing to be ashamed of." He said with a smirk. Damn he was sexy. Just in the way he talked. "Here are the clothes my secretary Miss Blanchett brought you. I hope you will like them." He said coyly. I was blushing hard the heat rose to my cheeks.

"Thank you again Jacob for letting me stay here. I should be getting going though. My friend Lucy is on a flight here as we speak." I said

"Nonsense, she can stay here as well, you aren't stable enough to travel yet. It really is no trouble." He was persistent. Quite a stubborn man if you ask me.

"Well if you insist then I won't argue. I will let Lucy know." I answered.

"I can have Lewis pick her up at the airport." He stated. "I will be at my office, so please don't hesitate to call if you need anything."

"Okay sounds good. I will see you later." I said. "Have a good day at work." I added.

I finished getting dressed then applied some makeup which was in the bag from Jacobs secretary. I walked down the hallway where there was a small middle aged women with brown hair with the roots ever so slightly turning gray.

"Hello dear I am Mrs. Langley. I am Mr. Blacks housekeeper. Are you hungry?" She asked.

"Um I am Maddie, I'm famished. Can I make some scrambled eggs? Is that alright?" I replied gesturing toward the kitchen.

"Dear I can make them for you. Mr. Black insisted I help you while you stay. Go relax and enjoy your visit." She responded and headed to the kitchen to make my eggs.

"Are you sure it's no trouble for me to make them." I insisted.

"This is my job deary now go relax." She laughed.

"Thank you then, I hope it's no trouble to you." I said feeling kind of bad I couldn't help.

"It's absolutely no trouble honey." She answered.

Mrs. Langley brought me my brunch and I ate it alone and waited for Lucy to show up. She would be in around noon.

Lucy arrived with Lewis at 12:15. I watched as Lewis pulled in front of the building helping her with her luggage.

"Looks like somebody is living the life." Lucy said hugging me.

"Haha. It'snot permanent. Jacob is letting me stay here until I am up to travel." I said.

"So do I get to meet the mystery man that saved my besties live?" She asked.

"Of course Lu." I said smiling. "So any news about my parents?" I asked.

"Um... Sorry Mads. I haven't heard anything." She said. Trying to comfort me.

Lucy and I sat down and talked for a while. She was trying to explain what had happened with my parents and Nick. She said it looked like they were kidnapped and that The house looked to be robbed. I hoped they were okay.

After a couple more hours of small talk Jacob arrived back to the penthouse.

"Jacob, this is my best friend Lucy Hale. Lucy this is Jacob Black." I introduced.

"Omg as in the Jacob Black?" She asked him. What did she mean 'the Jacob Black'.

"Yes I am Jacob Black. Nice to meet you Lucy. I've heard a lot of good things." He stated looking at me with his beautiful eyes.

"Maddie you didn't tell me mystery man was so cute." Lucy said to me. I gave her the death glare.

"Um so Jacob how was work?" I asked changing the subject quickly.

"Work was busy today. I had a lot of business meetings." He stated dryly. "But lets not talk about that."

"I assume you two have gotten caught up by the looks of it." Jacob asked.

"Yes we were just talking bout her parents and her brothers disappearance." Lucy said before I could speak.

"Your parents disappeared?" He asked.

"Yeah, so apparently the day you found me my parents and my older brother Nick disappeared from my parents house in Miami. The police re investigating it now." I said to him.

"I will have Kevin and Mike here with you at all times as your personal body guards. I don't think its safe for you to be anywhere by yourself. I also dont think you should go back to Miami anytime soon." He suggested.

"I cant ask you to do that. That's too much." I told him. Shaking my head.

"I want to keep you safe Maddie. I wont take no for an answer." He stated.

"Okay then I guess I have a body guard now." I said dryly.

Mrs. Langley showed Lucy to her room after dinner and she decided to turn in early leaving me alone with Jacob.

"If I am going to be staying here for a while. I should probably get a job." I said to myself out loud.

"You can be my personal assistant until you find something more if you'd like. I fired my last one 2 weeks ago and I'm looking for one." He suggested looking up from his book.

"I really shouldn't Jacob you've already done quite enough for me." I replied feeling bad already because I had nothing to give him in return already for his kindness.

"It pays well and it could get you back on your feet quickly. It would be doing me a huge favor." He told me.

"I have no experience being a PA. What would the job entail?" I asked before accepting.

"Arranging and setting up meetings, answering some calls and accompanying on some business trips." He said.

"Well I guess it would really help me get back on my feet." I said. "When do I start?"

"Once Lucy leaves of course and you feel up to it." He replied. "There is no hurry."

I thanked him for the job opportunity and decided to turn in for the night. 

A/N: How long do you guys think chapters should be? Right now on this book and MBFB it's between 1200-1500 words a chapter. Is that too short?
