The next morning Jacob called for me to come into his office.

"Maddie, I have a deal to pick with you," He said looking up from the mound of papers on his desk he was going through.

"Yes sir," I answered' "What is it?"

"Maddie, I need you to be my fake girlfriend for 3 months to get my mother off my back," He said calmly. Like how the heck did he say that this calm, he was asking me to be his girlfriend and I barely knew the guy.

"Um, sir, me be YOUR girlfriend?" I said emphasizing the "your".

"Yes," He nodded. "All your needs, medical, housing, food, car, whatever you want and a couple million dollars. Just be my girlfriend for 3 months. You'd just be accompanying me to events and acting like a regular girlfriend in public, you'll attend one dinner a week at my mothers place. Anytime outside of that you're free to do as you please."

"Can I think about this?" I asked.

"Sure but I need to know end of day today," He said.

"You're dismissed Ms. Mitchell. Think about it." He answered, I noticed he stopped calling me Maddie.

Thinking about what he had just proposed, I walked back to my office and began my work for the day. I mean, I needed the job, but I could be acting girlfriend of a billionaire, that opportunity comes less than once in a lifetime.

Soon after I finished my paperwork I ate my lunch silently at my desk, while organizing my desk area.

I thought for a moment and then knocked on Mr. Blacks office door.

"Come in," he said in a low voice.

"Ms. Mitchells, have you made your decision?" He asked, noticing its me walking in the room.

"Actually I have sir, but I have a few suggestions." I asked scarily, I hoped he allow me to alter our deal a little.

"Ok, let's hear it," he said waving his hand as to get on with it.

"I want to keep my job, and still be paid," I said and he interrupted. "Done, is that all," he interjected.

"Nope, I want to be able to do as I please when I want to do it."

He nodded, "You will have a bodyguard present if you leave my penthouse." I agreed.

"I want no physical intimacy, unless both parties agree," I stated.

"Well, sure, but you'll have to resist my charms," He winked and I rolled my eyes. "Also, we'll have to kiss for my mom, but a peck should suffice."

"Fine," I answered. "Yay,  I getta kiss him," I thought.

"Is that all Maddie?" He said emphasizing my name.

"Yes, sir that's all," I answered.

"Jacob, Maddie, it's Jacob now," He smirked.

"Yes, Jacob," I answered his name rolled off my tongue.

"Great we have dinner tonight with my mother. Be ready at 7, I'll prep you so you know everything you need to know. I'll have my housekeeper get you something nice to wear." He said.

"Ok, I will finish my work now," I said as he nodded dismissing me.

What had I just agreed to? Was I seriously this crazy, I'd just agreed to date a man I didn't know, and I was meeting his mother in like 7 hours.

My phone rang a little after 5:00, it was Jacob.

Jacob: Maddie, there's a blue dress and heels waiting for you in your room.

Maddie: Ok, thanks... uh Jacob.

Jacob: My mother is expecting us at 7:30 so don't be late.

Maddie: Yes, sir.

We hung up with that. Boy was that awkward.

At 6:30 I was ready and waiting for him in the living room. I hadn't seen him since I got here, but then again I was in my room and he was either in his office or his bedroom.

Precisely at 7 he walked in the living room and we left.

Upon getting into the car he started talking about his mother and what I needed to know and expect.

"My mother's name is Ariel Black, she worked for my father before he died and I took over the company. She was his P.A. She is now retired. You'll also meet my sister Arianna, we call her Ari and she works for her husband, Ryan Nicholson, as a P.A. You can probably catch on to the trend, my family has a thing for the P.A/ being a P.A. So don't mess this up." He said.

"I will do my best, what was your fathers name? Just so I know if they speak of him," I asked.

My father's name was Lucas." He said, I nodded, our arms were both on the counsel in the middle of the car. It was the only thing separating us. He grabbed my hand.

"You'll be fine, just be you," He answered.

"Remember this though, my favorite color is green, my favorite food is mashed potatoes and gravy, I like red wine, not white, and I prefer beaches over mountains. This is what my mothers quizzes all my girlfriends on." He said kinda rolling his eyes.

"Ok, got it, green, mashed potatoes, red wine, and beaches." I recited back to him.

"Perfect, look you're already a natural." He smiled, stealing a glance at me.

"Yeah, we'll see what it's like when I'm under pressure," I laughed sarcastically, then I noticed he was still holding my hand. I tried to shake it away.

"Remember we act like a couple here, so I'll need this," he said holding up my hand, I nodded as consent.

A few minutes later we arrived at his mothers big beautiful mansion.

Jacob got out and opened the door for me and handed the keys to someone to take the car away.

He grabbed my hand as I exited the car and he led me into the home.

"Mother," he called out. "I have a guest, I'd like to introduce you to."

"Is it a girl?" a lady answered.

"Yes, mother," He shook his head. Then a lady ran into the room excited looking.

"Well, go on introduce me to this beauty." she nudged.

"Mother, this is Maddie Mitchells my girlfriend, Maddie this is my mother Ariel." He said introducing us.

"Lovely to finally meet you Mrs. Black," I said confidently.

"Oh dear, call me Ariel, it's lovely to meet you too," She smiled, shaking my hand.

"Shall we?" She gestured toward the next room which had a large chandelier and food awaiting us on the table.

Jacob and I followed her into the room where Arianna and her husband and son, Alexander were already seated.

After a few moments we started to eat and the small talk started.

"So Maddie, what do you do for work?" Ari asked after taking a bite of soup.

"I am Jacobs P.A." I answered.

"Oh, that's lovely, P.As run in the family." Ariel commented. "How long have you been with Jacob?" she asked.

"A while now, a few months I think already," I said turning to Jacob for help we hadn't discussed how long we'd be together.

"It'll be three months on Thursday," Jacob said, saving the day.

"That's sweet, you guys are a cute couple." Ari smiled.

"Are you guys going to get married?" Alexander spoke up.

"Oh honey don't ask that, it's rude." Ari said. "I'm sorry, just ignore him."

"No, it's ok, I understand children, someday I'd like to have some of my own,"  I said with a chuckle.

After a while we finished eating dinner and began cleanup. I volunteered to help Ariel and Ari clean up leaving me alone with them.

That's when the quizzing began and I aced it.

"You really like my son, don't ya?" Ariel asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, ma'am I do. Jake and I really like each other," I clarified.

"Oh Jake... He never lets anyone call him that," Ari said. "You must be special to him."

We stayed for a while longer, then we went home. In the car Jacob talked to me about the nights events.

"My mother approved of you," he smirked, "as I knew she would."

"Both your mother and sister quizzed me and I aced it," I bragged on myself.

"I'm sure you did, right off the bat you surprises me, I mean you took initiative it was awesome." He laughed.

"Yes, Jake, I did and I'm glad I did," I said.

"Jake, who said you could call me that?" He asked getting angry.

"No one, I just figured we'd need little nicknames to keep this looking real," I said trying to calm him down.

"True, we probably do. Good call," He said.

With that we reached the penthouse and we went inside. Once there we said goodnight to each other.

"Good night, Jacob," I said sweetly with a yawn.

"Good night, Mads," He said, so that was the nickname he'd chose, good choice.

I smiled and he reciprocated that smile and with that we went to our own rooms to turn in for the night.
