|#8. Aaryamann-Natasha: Promise Of Love|
She's pacing in her room, frantically waiting for him. She is excited and upset at the same time. It's been thirty minutes since she called him, and he's not here yet. She calls him another time, only to hear him say the very line he always says, whenever he's on his way to meet her.
"I'm coming to you, jaan!" adding to it, he asks for five minutes.
She disconnected the call, waiting for him patiently. There's no other option after all. She turns around, glancing at the envelope that's lying on the bed. As she picks it up, a melancholy feeling stirs up in her heart. She feels the weight of her decision pressing upon her. But, it's urgent. If not today, then Never!
She's Natasha Saxena, a budding journalist. She's smart, bold and optimistic on the work front. She never steps back if she has committed to do a task. However, behind her fierce and bold avatar, she's a sweet girl, who loves people around her and craves to be loved.
She's at her home, awaiting her boyfriend, with whom she has shared everything about her life. Her heart is pounding in her chest, she's unaware of how he will react to the news she's going to reveal to him. However, he has always been supportive, and at times, when she felt demotivated, he has always raised her boosted her, and she hopes he does the same today.
But there's a barrier!
Her wedding!
Oh yes! Natasha Saxena is getting married to the love of her life, yet, there's a game changing decision in front of her. However, both the decisions are going to change her life, and it's the irony that she's facing right now.
Her reverie breaks when she feels a pair of hands snaking around her waist, it's the love of her life, for whom she's been waiting impatiently. She turns toward him, her gaze landing on his face. As soon as their gazes lock, Natasha leaps into his arms, hiding her face in his chest. He's amused at her action, but embraces his arms around her fragile figure, slowly smearing her back.
"Kya hua, Natasha? Is everything okay? Tumne itni jaldi mein mujhe kyun bulaya?" He asks, his tone laced with concern.
She doesn't reply, increasing his tension. He parts the hug, and cups her face, directing her to look at him. She's unable to meet his gaze, for, a lot of thoughts are bubbling in her mind, and she doesn't know how to express her emotions. He squeezes her hands, encouraging her to speak whatever is there in her mind.
He's Aaryamann Mittal, a businessman nestled in the metropolis of Delhi, he runs a textile business and he has his business chains in the major metropolis already. Natasha and Aaryamann are college sweethearts, and they've been in love since a long time. There story is more like of arranged than love. They grew up together, and therefore, love was bound to happen. Now, they're on the brink of getting married. But she has a different news to tell them. She finally gathers her courage and passes him an envelope.
"Ye kya hai? Hey! Kahin tum shadi se pehle mujhe divorce toh nahi de rahi ho naa?" He says, his tone playful, only to earn a slap from her.
"Aaryamann, kabhi toh serious ho jao, aur ye envelope khol ke dekho," She chides him, her tones laced with annoyance.
"Natasha, kyun mehnat karva rahi ho? Bata do na kya hai isme?" he makes a face, lazy to open the envelope.
"Aaryamann, main kuch kahungi toh sabko lagega main tumse shaadi na karne ke bahaane bana rahi hoon, isliye main chahti hoon ki tum khud isey dekho, taaki tumhe yakeen ho, aur hum kuch decision le sake," Natasha says, her tone laced with emotion.
Aaryamann shakes his head and opens the envelope to find an official letter inside it. As he reads the letter, the expressions on his face changes. The letter is an official letter from a company in London, that has invited Natasha for a fellowship of six months. This fellowship is a blend of training, mentorship and hands-on experience in the international media agency.
Aaryamann realises that Natasha has been trying hard to get this fellowship at Appetite Creative Solutions. And now, with their wedding nearing, she has got this letter. He sighs deeply as he sits on the edge of the bed. Natasha's gaze follows him, her eyes are teary. She gets on her knees to match his level.
"Aaryamann, ab toh tumhe bharosa hai na mujhpe? Ab batao main kya karun? It feels like I'm standing at a crossroads
, jahan dono hi raaste mere bhale ke liye hi hain," Natasha says impatiently.
"Toh tumne kya socha hai?" he asks, his tone carrying a calm that signals of a chaos ahead.
"Mujhe nahi pata, isliye tumhe yahan bulaya hai. Aaryamann, mere liye ye fellowship aur tum, dono important ho, main kisi ek ko nahi chun sakti," She replies, her tone sincere.
"Lekin chunna toh tumhe hoga," A feminine voice echoes in the air.
Aaryamann and Natasha turn around only to find the former's mother, Shalini, at the door. Her firm demeanour speaks a lot, and they know she has heard them.
"Natasha, tumhe kisi ek ko chunna hoga, ya toh mere bete ko, ya apne sapne ko. Tum dono cheezein toh ek sath nahi kar sakti," Shalini speaks, her aura exuding a confidence, that neither Aaryamann, nor Natasha could look away.
"Par Ma, itne samay baad ye mauka aaya hai, isske liye maine itne sapne dekhe hain," She retorts, her tone laced with sincerity.
"Haan, Ma, tum isey mat roko, shaadi toh phir bhi ruk sakti hai, lekin aise mauke...." Aaryamann couldn't even finish, when his mother interrupts.
"Aaryamann, tum dono ki shadi toh usi din hogi jiss din taye hui hain. Aur phir bhi agar isey iska sapna pyara lagta hai, toh ye jaa sakti hain, lekin!! Lekin phir isey tumhe bhulna hoga," Shalini commands, while the other two are shocked.
"Maa, aap jaanti hain na ki hum dono ek dusre se pyar karte hain," Aaryamann tries to reason.
"Main jaanti hoon, aur tum dono ki wajah se ye shadi 2 saal se tal rahi hai. Tum log aisa karte rahoge toh Nitya ki shaadi kaise hogi?" His mother asks, worried for her second born, a daughter, Nitya.
"Maa, Nitya ka issey kya lena dena hai? Vo abhi padh rahi hai, usey padhne dijiye," Aaryamann replies, his tone laced with annoyance.
"Par uski shadi ka samay bhi ho chala hai, aur hum chahte hain pehle aap dono ki shadi ho. Aur Natasha, tum aaj raat tak mujhe apna faisla sunaaogi," Saying so, Shalini walks out, taking Aaryamann along, while Natasha falls to her knees crying bitterly as they leave.
Shalini feels that both Aaryamann and Natasha are not so serious about the wedding. While she wants to seal their relationship as a marriage, they're happy being with each other, even if it means to consummate the love without marriage. Moreover, she also feels that her son avoided the wedding on the prospect of his textile business and now, Natasha is avoiding the wedding due to her fellowship. However, this time, Shalini has made up her mind to get Natasha and Aaryamann married.
*****
Natasha has done a lot of hardwork to get this fellowship, but now, it's hindering her love. She's going to get married in fifteen days, and it's the same day when she has to leave for London to achieve her dreams. It's a dilemma that she never thought she had to face. Even Aaryamann isn't by her side to console her.
She breaks into tears, her cries echoing in the confines of her room, it's something she didn't expect it coming.

"Aaryamann, ek sawal puchun?" she asked, turning towards him, still in his embrace, as they lay on the bed cuddling each other.
"Bolo, Princess, you know, tumhare har sawal ka jawab hai mere pas," he responded, his tone laced with love for her.
"Toh mujhe batao ki tum mujhse kitna pyar karte ho?" she asked, trailing her fingers on his bare chest.
"Ye kaisa sawal hua, haan? Tumhe nahi pata main tumse kitna pyar karta hoon?" he rolled his eyes at her.
"Mujhe pata hai, par mujhe tumse sunna hai. Batao na," she asked again, ruffling his hair.
He gazed at her; her eyes seemed like a deep ocean of emotions. He pecked a kiss on her forehead, and then looked at her.
"Tum meri zindagi ka sabse khubsurat sach ho, Natasha. Main isey jhuthla nahi sakta. Maa, Nitya aur ab tum! Aur pyar ka matlab sirf insaan se pyar nahi hota hai, uske sapnon ko apna banana aur unhe jeena bhi pyar hai. Tumne kitni easily mere sapne ko haqeeqat bana diya, Natasha," he said, his tone laced with sincerity and love.
"Tum hamesha puchti ho na ki meri company ke naam mein 2 N kyun hai, kyunki, wo tumhare aur Nitya ke naam par hai, aur isliye toh mere liye itni lucky saabit hui. Aur kya hi kahun?" he said, Natasha's eyes brimming with tears.
She never thought she'd be loved this much by someone, that he'd not just love her, but he'd make a connection with her soul too. It wouldn't be just a platonic love then. She looked into his eyes, letting him continue.
"Aur maine toh decide kiya hai, tum, main - hum apne sapnon par kabhi compromise nahi karenge, Natasha, kabhi bhi nahi! Hum un sapnon ko haqeeqat banayenge, ye mera vaada hai tumse," Aaryamann said, a smile dancing on his lips.
She smiled, her heart felt full at the moment. She leaned into him, her lips brushing against his. She kissed him softly, savoring the moment of tenderness. He responded eagerly, capturing her lips with his, and the soft kiss turned wild and passionate. She sighed against his mouth, her hands trailing into his hair, pulling him closer. He pulled her closer against his chest, as they deepened the kiss, their tongues dancing together - this moment of intensity sent a shiver down their spines.
They were so lost in the moment that the world seemed ot fade away. The only sound heard in the room were the sync of their lips and the soft moans escaping their mouths, as they continue to kiss each other, that exuded only their love and passion for each other. At the moment, they seemed like two souls in love desparate to love each other. Right now, everything seemed perfect. Each having the other in their arms, their love enveloping them in a cocoon of warmth and promise. The aroma of love surrounded them, creating a promise of love and togetherness that would last forever.
*****
Natasha jolts out of the tender memory, and Aaryamann's words echo in her ears. He promised to fulfill her dreams. It's okay, she can let go of her dream, but he can't let go this gem of a person, the man she loves deeply and soul-ly. She quickly wipes her tears, makes herself presentable and storms out of the house. She needs to tell his mom that she'd not leave her son this time.

Aaryamann is in a foul mood, for his mom pulled him forcefully and didn't let him talk to his lady love. His Ma's words ring in his ears.
"Aaryamann, bahut waqt beet gaya hai, aur ab hum aap dono ko pati- patni ke roop mein dekhna chahte hain. Pehle aap ne shadi ki date aage badhvayi aur ab Natasha. Ab aur nahi, ab toh ye shaadi usi din hogi jis din humne taye ki hai. Agar Natasha ko aapse pyaar hai toh vo zaroor aayegi,"
"Aur agar wo naa aayi toh aap hamari pasand ki ladki se shaadi karenge, samjhe aap!" Shalini had said it, her tone fiery.
He bangs his hand on the wall. He can't even talk to her. He knows what her dream means to her, but he can't do anything in front of his mom. Meanwhile, his sister Nitya comes running to him into his room. She's been humming the latest punjabi song 'Ve Haaniyan' .
"Dada, aap akele aaye ho, Bhabhi kahan hai?" She asks about Natasha.
"Vo apne ghar pe hai," Aaryaman replies non-chalantly.
"Arey toh aap unko leke kyun nahi aaye? Unhone kaha tha ki aaj hum dance practice karenge," Nitya informs, her tone laced with excitement.
"Unhone bola tha ki wo issi song pe dance karengi," The girl shares her excitement.
"Achi baat hai, gudiya, abhi tu jaa, please. Main thodi derr mein aata hoon, hmm?" Aaryamann says, he looks visibly annoyed, but he doesn't want to shout on his little sister.
"Kya ho gaya hai aaj sabko? Maa ne bhi danta aur ab aap bhi! Dada, hua kya hai?" Nitya asks, her curiosity piqued.
"Kuch nahi hua, I am sorry, gudiya. Wo main kuch soch raha tha. Achcha tu bata kya keh rahi thi tu?" He asks, his tone lighter as he looks at his sister.
"Meri dost Shruti hai na, uski badi behen coreographer hai, unhone mujhe dance steps sikhaaye. Aap dekhoge?" Nitya asks excitedly, and upon getting Aaryamann's nod, she plays the music and begins to show him her dance moves.
Tere Kolo Mainu Saah Milde
Asi Aive Ni Tainu Bewajah Milde
Tere Ch Koyi Gall Ae Ranjheya
Haa Assi Tainu Taan Milde
Mainu Pata Nahi Hunda Sukoon Ki
Tainu Mile Taa Pata Lageya
Mit Gayi Meri Sab Tanhai
Jee Tere Kol Aa Lagaya
Ve Haniya Ve Dil Janiya
Nitya is quite excited about her elder brother's wedding. She's glad to have Natasha, who's always been a sister figure to her, and she's glad to have both of them by her side. However, as she dances through, she forgets a step, and turns off the record player.
However, the song didn't stop. As the siblings duo turn around, they find Natasha standing at the doorstep of his room.
Ve Haniya Ve Dil Janiya
Tu Nede Nede Reh Na Door Kite Ja
Bhul Gaye Eh Saari Duniya
Ke Tera Hi Naam Boldi Zubaan
She walks close to them, her eyes fixated on Aaryamann. She gets on her knees and reaches out to hold his hands, and kisses his knuckles.
Tu Rabb Hai Tu Mera Sab Hai
Ve Koi Nahi Tere Toh Bina
She holds his hands and rests her forehead on them, as if surrendering all of herself to him.
Tu Rabb Hai Tu Mera Sab Hai
Ve Koi Nahi Tere Toh Bina
Ve Haniya Ve Dil Janiya
Tu Nede Nede Reh Na Door Kite Ja
Bhul Gaye Eh Saari Duniya
Ke Tera Hi Naam Boldi Zubaan
As he looks into her eyes, he finds tears brimming in her eyes. She didn't speak a single word, but her eyes were doing all the speaking. Aaryamann didn't waste a second to pull Natasha into a tight hug, and she breaks down into his warm embrace.
"I give up, Aaryamann! I give up on my dream," She says, sobbing in between.
He breaks the hug and Nitya looks at Natasha, a question playing in her eyes.
"Par aap dono toh kehte ho na, sapne dekhna nahi chhodna chahiye. Give up bhi nahi karna chahiye," She asks innocently.
"Haan, Nitya. Tum apne sapne kabhi give up mat karna. Tumhare Dada hai na tumhare sath. Aur mujhe bhi pata hai mera jo sapna hai wo bhi jaldi pura hoga, inhone mujhse vaada kia hai," Natasha responds to her, wiping her tears.
"Kaise?" Nitya throws another question at them.
"Tumhare Dada ne mujhse vaada kia tha ki wo hamesha mere sath hai. Aur isliye maine decide kia hai ki tumhare Dada ko choose karke bhi main loss mein nahi hun, aakhir wo mujhse bahut pyar karte hain," Natasha says, her lips spurring into a small smile.
Meanwhile, Shalini enters the room, clearly pleased. She has overheard the conversation. She keeps her hand on her head and pecks a small kiss on her forehead.
"Tumne bilkul thik faisla liya hai, beta. Aur chinta mat karo, tumhare sapne zaroor pure honge, mera beta agar kuch kahe tumhe, toh mujhe aake batana, main iske kaan kheench lungi, fir ye bilkul seedha ho jayega aur tumhari saari baatein maanega," Shalini says, her gaze playful.
Natasha and Aaryamann couldn't help but smile at her words, while Nitya hugs her mom, thanking her for bringing her brother and sister-in-law together. Meanwhile, Nitya and Shalini leave the room, leaving the love birds in the enclosed proximity of the room.
They gaze at each other for a few moments, and Natasha gave into the intensity of the gaze of her would-be-husband. She runs into his warm and inviting embrace, resting her head on his chest. He kisses on top of her head, as he makes another promise that he'll surely help her realise her dream. She parts the hug, only to look at him.
"Main jaanti hoon, Aaryamann, tum apna vaada zaroor nibhaoge. I'm so lucky to have you. Main hi apne sapne pure hone ki lalach mein aa gai thi. I'm sorry," She says, assuming that she has hurt him.
"Aisa nahi hai, Natasha. Don't be sorry, tumne wahi kiya jo tumhe karna chahiye tha. Even I was reckless when I was working on my business. Par tumne hamesha mera saath diya hai, isliye ab meri baari hai. Tum relax karo, everything will fall into the right places." he says, his tone soft yet filled with love.
"With you by my side, I am certain, everything will fall into the right places. Tum mere sath ho, wahi kaafi hai mere liye," Natasha says softly.
He turns her around and pulls her close, wrapping his arms around her petite waist, while her arms curve around his neck. As they share a glance, their lips meet in a soft, tender kiss.
Natasha seems to melt in the moment, feeling the warmth of his lips on hers. The soft kiss turns passionate and it seems like they have poured all their desires and passion into it. At this moment, it feels like the time has stopped and it's them dancing in the bubble of pure love that they've created. Every little kiss reaffirms their connection.
Natasha and Aaryamann feel themselves wrapped in the warmth of their shared love, as they decide to walk on the path ahead, no matter how arduous it is. It's all about living the love they've made in their lives.
