Hella and a Cosmic Dumpster

Kari felt like she was going to be sick. It might have been a thousand years since the massacre of the Valkyries, but she could still see it behind closed eyes. She could still feel the fear and the deep dark pit of despair and utter anger she had felt towards Odin, who had started the war and didn't even bother showing up to the front lines.

But Odin was gone now, and the walls that had once held Hella were crumbling, and in that moment, that terrifying moment, Kari realized she understood the goddess of death better than anyone. She too had been used as Odin's foot solider, and she too had been locked away when the heat became to much.

Kari wasn't a kid anymore. She held her head high as the goddess of death stepped out onto the grassy hills of Norway.

"So he's gone. That's a shame. I would've liked to see that." She paused slightly before pointing to the red head with a sinister smile. "I remember you. My, how you've grown."

Kari nodded once in acknowledgement. "Yes. You spared my life back on that day. Perhaps we can come to an arrangement. You weren't the only one Odin locked up to hide the truth."

The paler woman let out a noise in agreement. "Sounds like him all right."

The rest of the conversation felt like a bright and colorful blur. One second her feet were firmly planted on the ground, prepared to fight to protect her homeland, and the next they were hurling down the rainbow bridge towards Asgard, towards home.

Kari let out a groan as she hit the ground. She laid their for a moment before the panic set in. I don't know where I am.

She pushed herself upwards, instinctively calling out her husband's name. Kari's eyes narrowed as the scavengers approached her. "Are you a fighter or food?"

The red head let out a growl and shot a burst of fire in their direction. "I'm not in the mood."

Her scrutinizing glare focused on the largest building. She started the long trek of where she suspected Loki would go to, if he were to have ended up in the same cosmic dumpster.

Giggles like the sound of broken bells reached Kari's ears from her place in the shadows. She waited until one of the ladies was left alone before grabbing their wrist and pulling them close to her. After a moment of struggle, the terrified stranger was positioned so their back was facing Kari, a hand over their mouth and a knife to their throat.

"I'm going to need to borrow your dress."
