Zoia Heyward was called the Pogue Princess, known and loved by everyone on the cut. Energetic, charismatic, kindhearted, and intelligent, that's how everyone would describe her. Well, everyone on her side of the island that is. On figure eight, where the Kooks laid in their pools with a homemade cocktail in their hand, Zoia was known and hated.

What the Kooks thought of them didn't bother the Pogues because on their own side of the island, where they were ignored and neglected, they could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. However, there was one downside. And it involved one, or maybe even a few, of the Pogue rules. No Pogue on Pogue macking. Zoia was the younger sister of Pope Heyward, only by a year, and she has been best friends with John B, JJ Maybank, and Kiara Carrera since as long as she can remember. And as she, her brother, and her friends got older, the jokes got bolder but the seemed to motto stick. No Pogue on Pogue macking.

And after John B's father's sudden and strange disappearance, the Pogues became closer. Staying over at the Château, long boat rides looking for Big John, driving in the Twinkie around town. Yet nine months have passed and still no sign of him, but the Pogues, especially John B, don't believe he's dead. And without Big John, that left them on the cut with no adult supervision and lots of things to cross off the bucket list.

None of them knew that included breaking their no Pogue on Pogue macking motto— as well as running for their lives, breaking many laws, hiding from the cops, and looking for gold just like John B's old man. But even in all the trouble they get into, one motto of theirs never broke. Once a Pogue, always a Pogue.
