"so are you guys going to match?" oikawa asked the pink haired male.

"i mean, if i ask him to, probably," he replied glancing over at the boy who was chatting with iwaizumi at the moment.

"well, you should, do like, a couple thing," he suggested, "iwa-chan and i are doing that,"

"who are you guys going as?" hanamaki asked.

"just wait until toniiight, you'll see," he mused waving his hand briefly, "iwa-chan!" he called out, the spikey haired boy perked up. "c'mon, lets go!" he chirped beginning to walk his own way towards iwaizumis car. the boy followed. "come over when you get your costumes!" he called out towards the two as they walked further, "so we can get ready together!"

"okay!" makki replied. "what a lame," he said over to matsu.

"true," matsukawa replied dryly as they approached his car. the two got into his car and as matsukawa started up his car there was a knock at the window that caused them both to jump. they looked over to the window to see akaashi. matsukawa rolled down the window to reveal a crying akaashi.

"sorry this is last minute, but do you think you could give me a ride?" he asked in a soft voice, it may have looked like he was crying but it didn't sound like he was crying.

"uh- yeah, of course akaashi," mattsun replied, unlocking the doors and allowing him into the backseat. mattsun started driving, "um, so," he began, hanamaki wasn't close with akaashi at all, but he knew that matsukawa was. "do you want to talk about it?" he asked. akaashi gave a small sigh from the back of the car.

"yeah, i don't mind, it doesn't bother me," he said lowly.

"well, what happened?" he asked.

"it's just taichi," he said.

"did he do something?" he asked, his tone getting a bit more rough.

"no, no!" akaashi said quickly, more emotion from him than hanamaki had ever heard. "he didn't do anything," he said. "it's just my mom, she doesn't like him," he continued, seeming to get a bit choked up, "she just called me, saying i couldn't go to the party tonight because she didn't want me to go with him," he said softly stopping to sniffle a bit. hanamaki looked back at him, he offered him a hand, akaashi looked over at makki then at his hand, he took it. "she said i have no future with him, and he'll drag me down, but she doesn't understand, that right now, i don't care about my future, i know i'm going to succeed, i just want him to be there with me while i succeed," he said pausing, "and i want to help him succeed,"

"akaashi, she can't control your life like that," hanamaki said. "do you love him?" he asked.

"yes," akaashi said softly without hesitation, then he paused, he wasn't very open about his feelings but hana could tell he felt better when he opened up. "i do," he said, his eyes tearing up once again, "i love him so much, makki," he said taking a shaky breath.

"then show her that, show her that you can help him succeed, invite him over, not to spite her-" he said pausing, "well maybe a bit," he said with a small laugh, akaashi smiled slightly, "but if you start inviting him over for dinner and inviting him over to work on school stuff, if you wanna help him succeed, you should start now," he said as matsukawa parked up in front of, what he assumed was, akaashis home.

"yeah, i-i'll try," he said wiping a tear from his eye, "that's a good idea, thank you hanamaki," he said.

"well, you know, couples have to work as a team, just let taichi know, and you guys can work together," he said glancing at matsu.

akaashi nodded, "thank you, and thanks matsukawa for the ride, i'll see you guys later," he said lowly with a small sniffle.

"you'll be okay?" matsu asked.

akaashi looked at hanamaki then at matsukawa, "yeah," he said, "yeah, i'll be okay," he said, opening the car door and getting out, "bye," he said with a small smile, shutting the door.
