From the moment he left the restaurant, all Harry could think of was how he missed his chance to tell Clara everything, however, he also knew that they were in public, which wouldn't have gone over well, media-wise.

Internally weighing out the decision to turn the car around and drive to Clara's hotel, Harry just forced himself to stop overthinking, and impulsively made a u-turn, beginning to drive in the direction of the hotel Clara was staying in.

During the drive, Harry mapped out his speech, practicing what he was going to say and how he was going to say it. It sounded weird, he knew that, but this was Clara. He needed it to be perfect.

Finally arriving at the hotel, Harry hurried into the lobby, politely asking the man at the front desk for Clara's room number, quickly heading to the elevator once the man told him what it was, and finally rushing to Clara's room as soon as he arrived on the floor.

He knocked on the door a few times, speaking up between inhales and exhales of air as he did so, catching his breath from his rushed endeavour. "It's Harry."

A few seconds later, the door swung open to reveal Clara, her eyebrows slightly furrowing as she didn't expect to see Harry so early after their, quite recent, goodbye at the restaurant. "Hey, I thought you were-"

"I was, but I just had to tell you something important. In person." Harry unintentionally cut her off, Clara raising her eyebrows and slowly nodding in understanding as she stepped aside to let him enter the room.

"Okay, what's up?" Clara slowly inquired as she closed the door behind Harry once he walked in, facing him again as she awaited his answer.

Harry inhaled and exhaled a deep breath as he tried to remember what he had planned to say in the car, although his mind was blank.

Once he realised that he didn't remember the entire string of words exactly how he had preplanned them, he furrowed his eyebrows, and quickly thought of another way to say it. "Uh...okay, look, this might be uncomfortable, so feel free to stop me whenever you want, but I just want- need to tell you that..."

Harry's voice trailed off as he met Clara's eyes, confusion filling them at Harry's incredibly vague statement.

When Harry didn't continue his speech, and simply looked at her silently—clearly trying to internally decipher a way to say whatever he was trying to say in a normal way—Clara's eyes slightly, perplexedly narrowed, as she wasn't able to analyse Harry's body language and, seemingly unfamiliar, emotions—usually, Clara could read him pretty well, so these instances were quite rare. "Tell me what, H?"

Forcing himself to just spit it out and push his fear aside, Harry just spoke up, his eyes carefully watching Clara to observe her following reaction. "I really, really like you, Clara. I have ever since we met, but I just didn't know how to tell you because I didn't want to ruin our friendship. I completely understand if you don't feel the same, or if you want to forget about it, but I just...I just needed you to know."

Clara's—once confused—expression had now completely faded, shifting into a mixture of pure surprise and relief.

For a brief moment, she was speechless. Knowing that he felt exactly how she felt, and how he eloquently put what was in her mind into words was like a weight had finally lifted off her shoulders.

Swallowing, Clara nodded, a smile taking over her features as she answered quietly—almost as if she was afraid he'd change his mind. "Harry...I feel the same."

Harry felt his own heart stop at the words, and his eyebrows raised in pure shock, desperately needing to clarify her words as he repeated them. "You- you feel the same?"

Clara huffed a chuckle as she took a step closer to Harry. "I do, and watching both of us be with other people has killed me. You don't know how long I've wanted to break this cycle, even if I didn't fucking realise it until recently."

Harry felt a smile tug at his lips as he moved towards Clara, the two now almost chest-to-chest. He physically couldn't tear his eyes away from the woman in front of him as he nodded in agreement. "It's killed me too."

A brief moment of comfortable silence fell between the two, both of them unsure of how to approach each other with this new and fresh sense of purpose.

"So...what does this mean?" Clara broke the momentary silence, glancing at Harry from her position, and she felt a tinge of warmth shoot throughout her chest.

Their small height difference and close-proximity produced a flurry of butterflies that rapidly circulated around her stomach, and all she could think about was kissing him, or engulfing him into the tightest hug that she'd never break.

"I think it means we should finally be together..." Harry raised his eyebrows as he purposely let his voice trail off before softening his tone with a joke to lighten the weight of the confession and make her smile, his eyes flickering between hers as he did so. "But I could be wrong, I don't know..."

Clara grinned in amusement at the words as she nodded once. "I agree."

Harry took a small step even closer, wordlessly signifying that he was about to kiss her, and as he cupped Clara's jaw, closed his eyes gently, and leaned in, he connected his lips with hers in a soft, drawn-out kiss, Clara immediately responding as her eyes fluttered closed and she kissed him back.

Fireworks erupted in Clara's head at the positively dizzying feeling, and all she could focus on was Harry's lips pressed on hers, the fact that this was finally happening, and how right it felt.

Clara's hands went to cup his jaw as she deepened the kiss, Harry smiling against her lips at the incredible feeling that he was finally experiencing after four agonisingly long years.

Not only did Clara feel immense happiness at the action, but so did Harry, and as his stomach was routinely doing flips at their current action, he kissed her deeper—as if he was trying to show her just how much he truly loved her. This is what it's supposed to feel like.

After a long-awaited moment that both Clara and Harry were desperately trying to savour, the two slowly pulled away, content smiles taking over their features and their eyes entirely focused on one another's—the world was entirely revolved around them at this current moment, and time had seemed to slow down.

Harry gently stroked her cheek with his thumb as he spoke up, his voice slightly raspy from their prolonged contact. "I'm assuming this means we're officially together, then?"

Clara released a chuckle as she nodded. "We're officially together."

Harry grinned as he slid his hand down from its previous position cupping her jaw and rested his finger underneath her chin, gently lifting her face and pulling her closer, consequently connecting their lips again and initiating another kiss, Clara's hands sliding to the back of his neck as she brought him impossibly closer to her.
