Chapter 10
"Percy wait." Annabeth mumbled and stopped him in his tracks.
"Are you alright?" Percy asked, instantly worried. Her face was pale and she was wobbling unsteadily. It must've been because of Rachel's visions. He had felt a little disoriented after she had shown him something for the first time too.
He didn't have a clue as to what Annabeth had seen but what he saw made him feel a little uneasy. When Rachel had muttered those magic words of power under her breath, Percy had been transported into a dark, black tunnel and he had seen images of Annabeth breaking down and crying.
Queen Helena had, had her arm around her in those pictures, and she was obviously muttering comforting things to her step daughter. That was why; when Annabeth had suggested the idea of Queen Helena being behind it all, that was part of the reason as to why he had said no.
Annabeth was staring at someone in the crowd. There was a girl on the stage, singing for the audience lumbering beneath her. She had on a purple dress and seemed to be the one Annabeth was so intently watching.
"Annabeth?" Percy asked softly. "Wise Girl?" He didn't know where that name had come from but Annabeth didn't even so much as glanced his way. It was almost like she thought it normal. Like she had heard it before on a daily basis.
"That- that girl." She muttered. Her voice had lost all it's beautiful strength and was barely audible.
Percy didn't have any time to question her about it because someone else had spotted them. "Percy! There you are my little-" She glanced at Annabeth and smiled slyly and Percy had to hold in his groan.
Percy's mother was wearing a beige a dress that was all curled up and ruffled in various places. Her silver crown glittered atop her dark brown hair.
His father was just behind her. He mouthed the words, Brace yourself, threw in a wink for good measure and left before he could protest.
(A/N. ;) Titans curse anyone?)
"Hello my dear." She said politely Annabeth.
Annabeth's head snapped back to her and at the discovery of the queen standing in front her, she gasped and stunned back into Percy's arms, immediately hurrying down into rushed curtesy. Percy had to help her stand up properly again because of tipsy turvey attitude.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" Sally asked hurriedly.
"Yeah. She's fine." Percy said quickly. "Now-"
"What's your name honey?" The Queen inquired softly.
"A-Annabeth." She muttered wearily.
Sally turned to Percy with a mixture of glee and utter worry plastered onto her face. "Percy, she needs to rest."
Percy didn't have time to say anything to her because that was when Annabeth completely collapsed into her feel with exhaustion. Percy caught her lifted her up bridal style.
"Mum-" He started.
"Yes. Of course." She said quickly and made way for them. Percy pushed past everyone, solely concentrating on Annabeth. He had to get her away from here.
And it was then that he felt like he was being watched carefully. When he looked behind him, he saw that girl in the purple dress, with the long black hair staring back at him and Annabeth.
* * * (This must be killing you, Mocha48 XD but don't worry, not long now!!!) * LINE BREAK! IGNORE ME!*
Percy thanked the coachman from the carriage and walked up to the front gates of the Castle. He ordered the guards to let them in, and made his title know- something he did very rarely.
He went inside Queen Helena's palace and tried to find Annabeth's room. He thought he found it when he entered a beautifully decorated room. Though he really suspected whose it was in reality when he took in the interior designing. Somehow, he knew this wasn't how Annabeth would have decorated her own room. It wouldn't have been all prim and proper like this.
He laid her down on the bed and waited beside her, holding her hand. His thumb was unconsciously moving across her knuckles back and forth. He took the time to admire her beauty. Her golden hair, her pale, rosy lips and her long eyelashes and her beautiful complexion.

Annabeth woke up, feeling so much better than she had before. But once she took in her surroundings, she had to fight down a huge wave of fright and boldness. She could recognise those cruel features in the room even Pugh she had never being in here.m
She was in Queen Helena's room, sleeping on her bed.
To her left, Percy was sitting at the edge of the bed, his head slumped up against the bed head. His eyes were closed and his mouth open, a little trail of drool running out.
His hand was wrapped around her own.
The scene brought another memory into her mind.
"You drool in your sleep."
She looked around at the massive grandfather clock in the corner of the room read ten minutes to eleven. Annabeth breathed in a sigh of relief. Queen Helena wouldn't be back until one in the morning, when the ball was due to end.
Annabeth gently got off the bed but kept her hand entwined with Percy's. She shook his shoulder gently, whispering his name quietly in an attempt to wake him up.
Percy muttered something about glittering sparkly pink unicorns and rainbows before falling into a deeper slumber.
Annabeth held in a burst of laughter and shook him awake. Percy's eyes flew open finally and he took in his surroundings hurriedly. He looked at Annabeth amused expression and groaned as he wiped that little trail of drool.
"Idiot." Annabeth muttered quietly, still smiling widely. "We're in Queen Helena's room!"
"What the-" Percy jumped up from the bed and looked around. "Schist. I thought-"
He was interrupted by the sudden sound of footsteps aching down the hall way in front of the closed door to queen Helena's room.
Annabeth jumped into action and pulled Percy down under the bed after her, just before the door opened. From their excellent view from beneath the bed, they could see two pairs of shoes. One of them was unmistakably Queen Helena's.
Her slim purple dress was caressing the surface of her bedroom floor.
The other pair of shoes were a blue and looked very much like a pair of sandals. The hem of her dress was of a similar colour.
"It didn't hit her." Queen Helena screeched.
"I'm sorry lady! But-" The other person said.
"You- you missed her purposely didn't you?"Queen Helena demanded.
Annabeth could imagine the smaller girl crossing her arms. "And what if I did? I wouldn't have killed her even if you had threatened me. I'm not a murderer."
"Get out of my sight now, you silly girl!" Queen Helena shouted.
The girl moved towards the door and bowed at the Queen mockingly. "With pleasure."
When she rose again, Annabeth caught sight of her appearance. She was short and had dark curly hair. She was wearing a blue ball gown, complete with deeper shades of an ocean and she was definitely not that girl from Annabeth's dreams.
She left the room and shut the door behind her.
Queen Helena was obviously seething with rage. She walked to the corner of her room and disappeared from Annabeth's view. So she made to move around a bit to peer out from under neath the bed but Percy circled his arm around her waist and stopped her, motioning for her to lay there quietly.
Annabeth huffed quietly and lay her chin on her arms.
A moment later they hear something else.
Queen Helena was talking to someone. But that wasn't right. There was no one else in the room.
"Mirror, Mirror. On the wall. Who's the fairest of them all?"
Another voice spoke back. One that Annabeth had never heard before in her life. "It is she. Your step daughter. She is the fairest of them all."
Queen Helena screamed and knocked something over in her rage. Splinters of a blue vase flew everywhere. A huge chunk came right at Percy and slashed across his cheek vigorously. He gave out a little gasp and cupped his hand to his cheek. When he withdrew it, blood stains had tainted his palm.
Annabeth didn't know what to do and when she tried to check how bad it was, Percy pulled her back down and made her stay in place while she whispered profanities at him.
A moment later, the door opened again and queen Helena strode back out. Annabeth and Percy crawled out, back into the bright light of the room.
Annabeth gasped when she saw Percy's cheek. "Oh gods of Olympus, Seaweed Brain!" She didn't stop to think where the words had come from. Instead, she quickly ripped a piece of the hem of her dress and put it against his cheek.
Percy laughed and put his hand over the one Annabeth had on the cloth. "I'm fine. I've been worse. Trust me." He looked over his shoulder at the mirror. When he looked back at Annabeth, she knew they were thinking the same thing.

Piper wondered where her friend was. Hazel was sitting with Frank, Leo and Calypso. But Annabeth was no where to be seen. She was fine, Piper told her self confidently. Probably somewhere with Percy.
Percy. Gods, he would be perfect for Annabeth. There was something about those two, like they had met some where else before.
Then again, Piper couldn't differ from that feeling when she saw Jason. There was something so familiar about him. And yet, his appearance was so foreign to her.
"Hey," Jason said suddenly. "You know, once. When we went to war with Anosia, this man on horseback cut off my arm."
Piper blinked at him then laughed and punched his arm. "Shut up, Sparky."
"Sparky?" He asked.
"What else? Blonde Superman."
"Nah. Let's just go with Sparky." He smirked at her goofily, glasses crooked. Piper reached out to fix them.
Jason smiled and took her hand, which made a batch of butterflies burst into fireworks in Piper's heart.
It was then she looked to her left. Annabeth was there. And so was Percy. But there was something terribly wrong. Her best friend was slumped up in Percy's arms. They pushed past the Queen - Percy's mother - and rushed out of the side entrance.
Jason looked to where she had been staring. "Gods of Rome. What now?"
A voice spoke up from behind Piper.
"Are they your friends?"
Piper looked behind her, shocked into a state of confusion. The girl standing in front of her had long black hair and she was wearing a purple dress. She was the singer that had been singing the entire night at the ball.
Her eyes were glowing kindly but they held the first few pages of a deep secret. She smiled politely and went down into a small courtesy. "Mia." she introduced simply.
"P-Piper. And this is Jason." She said hurriedly, steeling glances at the door her friends had disappeared off to.
Jason was looking at the girl suspiciously.
Mia's eyes brightened up at the sound of their names. "Jason and Piper. And those to were Percy and Annabeth right?"
Piper stared at her. "How did you know their names?"
"I- I knew them before. A long time ago." She covered up quickly. "But I just came to you to ask-" Her eyes flew to the side where Queen Helena was quickly making her way to the front gates with a smaller girl in blue following her tracks.
"I've gotta go." Mia stated quickly and ran after the Queen and the girll, carefully satying hidden.
Piper and Jason glanced at eache other. The rational thing to do would've been to just stay where they were. But where would be the fun in that, huh?
