For years I've roamed,

hunting monsters that live in caves and trees

I've seen a lot in this life

Stretched out over countless days

I've seen the world change

I've seen people spread out and fly

I've seen people box themselves in, like bees in a hive

I've seen so much

I've seen the greatest acts of kindness and the monsters men can be.

Many monsters have fallen by the blade

and many more shall fall to their grave.

But the cruelest monsters I've found

have never lived in a tree or cave.
