Chapter 5: On the Run... Again

*BOOM!*

A loud crash woke me up. I checked the clock.

3:54am.

I listen for a moment more until another boom startled me again. I kicked the covers off of my body rushed towards the stone balcony.

*CRASH!*

Large debris smashed through the sliding door before I could reach the handle. I flew back, slamming my head against the wall as pain pulsed through my now throbbing skull.

"What's going on?!" Liza scanned the room in a panic. "Is it an earthquake?!"

Roscoe lurched from the covers. "GET AWAY FROM THE GLASS!"

The floor began to violently rumble.

"Get your shit together, NOW!" Roscoe said, flinging our bags towards the door.

"GO!"

We rushed through the immaculate halls towards the emergency exit and down the stairs.

"WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" Kelly shrieked.

We escaped through the back of the building and I nearly froze to see the huge building that I had just left toppling over. It smashed into the condominiums across the street and debris came plummeting towards us as shouting cries blared from all around.

Thank god we were on the second floor.

That's when Kelly snatched me and raced towards the others, who had already sprinted through an alleyway towards the clearing.

We jogged to a halt as I turned my head just one more time to see several towering skyscrapers crashing down into the metropolis below.

My heart sunk. "What WAS that!?" I said.

"LOOK!"

Roscoe cringed as a voice from the distance shot over.

Instantly, we were paralyzed as if our hearts had stopped pumping blood. By now what looked like thousands that had been scurrying had stopped and began to peer into our very souls.

A brutish man began walking towards us. "He's the one that helped em' too right?!"

"He looks JUST like the picture online!" A woman started pointing at us as she shoved her smartphone is people's faces.

"FUCK!" Roscoe bolted ahead of us.

I turned my head to see Kelly overflowing with rage like a seething cauldron.

I pulled on Kelly's arm as the crowd closed in.

"Kelly! We need to-!"

"SCREW MEN!" She grabbed Thomas and pulled him along as I struggled to keep my gaze on Roscoe. We raced through the park to catch him diving into the subway, just barely managing to stay behind him.

"Roscoe! What's going on!?" I said.

*FLASH!*

The light from a woman's phone stopped us in our tracks.

She fanned people over. "I saw him on the front page of that news article on the internet!"

A tall lady sent him stumbling with a shove. "DAMN FOREIGNER!"

"HOW COULD YOU?!" a kid shouted.

Roscoe bolted into an empty train, managing to escape the forming crowd's sight.

The others and I struggled to keep up with him, slipping through the violent crowd and forcing through people's attempts to block us. My heart was exploding, and my head still ached from hitting my head and having to run so fast.

Then the train doors slowly began to close.

We fired through the narrow opening in the nick of time as angry people pounded the glass and snapped hundreds of photos as we pulled off. Suddenly, the panicking and rage filled screams faded, and there was silence.

A cool breeze swept through the empty corridor from small cracks in the train door. I sat with my back to the train wall, my arms around my legs, trying to bear the cold. Eventually we blasted through a tunnel and it got darker to the point where I could barely see Kelly, Thomas, Liza or Roscoe anymore. Lights started to flash through the windows and I was once again able to see Roscoe's face.

The tension rushing through the veins on his forehead, the beading sweat.

What just happened?

I looked and saw the sweat trail down his face and his dilated pupils. I broke the silence with one question that changed the tone for everything

"Roscoe, who are you?"

~~~
 What the hell?! See, THIS is why you never trust strangers children. NEVER accept the help of a large man and lolicon bait while attempting to cross America kids, I always turns out bad...
