I know you

It was around 1.30 A.M, at Anika's house. It was really difficult for her to come out of the incident that happened that night. She was not even able to sleep when she got a message from Shivaay.

"Hey Anika! Did you eat something? You didn't have anything from evening!" His message said when she replied back saying "Yes Shivaay!"
"Don't you lie! I know you didn't eat." another message popped up when her eyes were moist not knowing what to reply back.

"Shivaay! I will eat. Now you sleep we have office also." she texted when she got back another one in seconds "You promised me that you would eat. I trust you, so eat and sleep! Don't think anything else. Bye"

As she promised, she had some fruits and dozed off.

The next morning at office, the clock already struck 11' but Anika didn't turn up yet. ShivOmRu were really concerned about her as she never usually took leave. Shivaay went to his manager to find out whether Anika had already informed about her absence but to his dismay she didn't inform anything.

Shivaay took half day permission assuring OmRu that he will find out where Anika was and left from there heading straight to her house but to his dismay, he found her house locked.

"Anika! Where are you?! What happened to you?" Shivaay thought to himself when he planned to track her phone. Through one of his friends on the tele-line, he managed to track her number.

He headed straight to that place but didn't exactly know where she was. He kept asking everyone on streets if they saw her but the only reply from them was "No"

It was almost four in the evening but he could find nothing about her. He sat down near a tea stall in one street, his eyes forming tears unknowingly.

The tea stall vendor observed Shivaay and asked him what happened.
"Uncle I'm looking for a girl. But I can't find her anywhere" he said disheartened.
"Don't worry son! You will find her very soon" that old man said giving him a glass of tea.

He showed him a photo asking him if he had seen Anika before.
"She was disheartened too when she came here, she had tears. She was searching for someone I guess!" That man said.
"Really? Uncle do you have any idea where she went?" Shivaay asked with a ray of hope.

"No son but I know she left to the next street with some hope to find that person. And yeah she told me she was searching for Hari Prakash Chaturvedi" he said.
"Thanks! Thank you so much for the help Uncle." he said spranging into action.

He left from there finally ending his journey when someone directed him to an old house. He saw Anika in that congested room with a middle-aged couple. He silently listened to them hiding behind the pillar outside the room.

"We are not good parents! We don't deserve your love beta." the lady said when the man continued, "We can't face you! Please don't come here ever again. We deserve to be punished. Let us suffer like this till we die"

"Ma! Baba! Please. Don't you think I deserve your love at least now?" She asked teary eyed when they hugged her tightly crying their heart out.

"We considered you an omen just because you were a girl. We never considered you our child. We gave attention only to your sibling just because he was a boy. We differentiated so much, we tortured you every single day you were with us. And we didn't love you at all but still you came back to us, for the people who hated you so much?" Her father asked.
"Baba even if you hated me I loved you all" she said continuing, "Now please don't cry."

"Sorry is just a small word to wash away our sin." her mother said hugging her.

They were still talking when Shivaay couldn't bear this bitter past of Anika. His eyes brimmed with tears not able to digest the fact that Anika suffered a lot from her childhood.

"Ma don't worry. I have to go now! I will make things go right." she said holding their hands.
"We trust you beta!" they said.
"Please let's leave the past and start something new." Anika said smiling at her parents who were dieing every single second with guilt.

Anika reached back home lost in thoughts when she heard a knock at the door. It was Shivaay at the door to Anika's surprise.

He hugged her tightly surprising her even more. She didn't fail to notice the tears in his eyes.

"Shivaay? Why are you crying?" She asked him when he didn't reply anything nor did he even try looking at her.

"Shivaay won't you even look at me?" She asked teary eyed.
"Not like that Anika!" He said mentally cursing himself for making her cry.
"I'm sorry I didn't inform you guys Shivaay" Anika said feeling bad.
"It's okay! I'm happy you are safe." he said not wanting to reveal the fact that he knew her past.

Just then Shivaay got a call from Rudra.
"Hello Bhai did you find Anika?" OmRu asked in unison sounding tensed.
"Hello Om, Rudra I'm fine" Anika responded later receiving a lecture from them for not informing them.

"Anika stay there! I'm coming" he said from the kitchen when she finished her call. Soon, he brought a plate of food for her.
"I know you wouldn't have ate anything!" He complained as he signed her to eat. She left back to the kitchen when Shivaay wondered why.

She came back with another plate of food for him. She signed him to eat his' first. Smiling he took his food and started eating.
"Rudra told you went searching for me the whole day. I'm sorry! I troubled you guys so much today." she said when he said back dramatically, "What are friends for? Only for troubling."

"Won't you ask me where I went?" She asked when he said, "I know!"
She was shocked to hear that answer from him.
"You would have gone for watching your favourite Hrithik's movie that released today without telling us!" He said wanting to make her mood lighter.

"I met my parents!" She said smiling when Shivaay acted surprised.
"That's really great. How are they? Fine na?" He asked when she said, "Yeah they were really happy to see me. Finally I will be with them in a few days. I'm planning to shift to a new house with them." she said her face reflecting happiness.

Shivaay's mind voice,

"Anika how can you forgive people who ruined your childhood?! How can you love people when they hate you!? How are you like this?! Perfect in everything! As a friend, daughter, sister, and what not!"
