I finally have some art to show you after 30000 years.

This is a raffle prize for Windy on WA. I'm trying to get the majority of my owed art out of the way today so it's a little rushed, but not too bad.

In other news, yesterday was my last day of school, so I've started my annual tradition of reading the whole Harry Potter series during the first week of summer, and now I wanna to a SIMV/PMV about Percy. I remember hating him every other time, but this year I love him?? So much??

(Spoilers ahead!)
Like, the poor kiddo is hated no matter what he does—before he gets his job at the Ministry of Magic, his brothers all dislike him because he's always following the rules and trying to get them to too, but he's really just ambitious and wants his schooling to go smoothly so that he can achieve his goals later on. (Like, in the second book, Ron accuses Percy of not loving Ginny and only using her as an excuse to tell Ron off, when obviously he does care for her, as only a few chapters earlier he's worried enough about how pale she looks to consult Madam Pomfrey.) And Mrs. Weasley is always "Why can't you be more like Percy?" but it's obvious she's still so much fonder of her other children's antics.

Then, once he gets his job, he's so proud of himself and wants his family to be too, but they treat it like betrayal so of course he's upset and leaves!

I'm debating between two/three different songs to use (and I'd really appreciate some song suggestions if you have them!), but I have a few ideas about what I'm going to tweak about the story:
-When Percy realizes his mistake and goes to join Harry's side for the final battle in book 7, he's gonna be super shocked about how happy his brothers and parents (father especially) are to see him. They usually treated him with indifference or irritation before he joined the Ministry, and they were likely to be mad at him for his more recent choices, so it'd make sense if he was surprised to see his family so happy he's there.
-After the fight, the Weasley's are mourning Fred, and Percy half expects them to pin their blame and grief on him, after all he's done. He's once again surprised that he's welcomed and included into the family.
-(this one would work for only one of the songs) Percy never really feels entirely part of the family anymore, but he stops caring so much about his own ambition and swears to spend more of his focus on protecting his family, as he feels this is really the only way he can make it up to them.

I don't know if I'll have time for this PMV/SIMV, but I'll probably at least sketch it out. Just for fun. Or maybe just draw some of the key scenes.
