Appearance: Pale-skinned, constantly messy red-brown hair, freckles. Hazel eyes. Thin and relatively short, more muscular than he appears. Just generally small, appears almost fragile, even though he is perfectly capable of defending himself. Has a long scar over his sternum.

Costume: Based loosely off of a Goliath Beetle. Fashioned mostly from kevlar, built more for flexibility and speed than for protection. Despite being based off of a beetle's shell, it does not function like armor and only protects against weapons and attacks of average brute strength.

Origin:
He had a sibling who was ill with a disease that had rarely been seen before, and never healed. His parents were desperate for a cure, so they had Theo for the purpose of trying to develop one. He was very young and does not remember it, but his parents allowed a multitude of tests to be performed on him to try and discover a way to save his sibling. They discovered a string of DNA that created enzymes in several beetle species that could combat the disease, and so they spliced the beetle DNA with Theo's as a test before trying it with his sibling. It was a success for Theo, but unfortunately his sibling was not strong enough to survive such a drastic, stressful, change and was unable to live through it. Theo gained his powers, but his sibling lost her life. His parents, grief-stricken and not too terribly attached to Theo in the first place, gave him up to the foster system. Since he was so young, he was adopted quickly into a loving family with whom he grew up with, knowing he was adopted, but not knowing who gave him up. In this point in time, Theo has no knowledge or memory of his biological family. His adoptive one knows about his powers, as it can be incredibly hard to hide them and they were told of Theo's medical history (or at least what could be figured out about his medical history) when they adopted him, but they are supportive of them and don't love Theo any less for it.

Also yes I'm not using enzymes in the correct context but I do not care :)
