Custom Comm

I've been slowly getting comms done ;-;

Posting this without a wm because I know for certain that the client is going to find something wrong with it and have me change it all anyway (which is fine—it's what they're paying me for)

This is a custom design for Dawnlight on WA.

This custom
Was a bitch and a half

It wasn't even a custom. Literally every shape, marking, color, and characteristic was spelled out for me to follow. A custom is where you create design—here, I was just translating a design from one medium to another. Technically, if you do this and give me every single little detail and don't let me do anything creative with it, I count it as a reference sheet commission and not a custom. And a reference sheet can cost more than double a custom does.

But I needed money badly when I took this "custom" on, so I just let it slide ;-;

In other news, I started one of the two sketch sheet commissions I got on WA, and.. Oh my god, they're miserable.
They take forever (I'm about 1/3 done my current one and it's been six hours), they're boring (composition was always one of my favorite parts of drawing, and you can't do that with these), the character designs are bizarre and their reference sheets are sketchy and blurry and low res, and just impossible to interpret (more so for this current one than sketch comms in general, though)... It's just not good :T

I'm not doing these ever again. They're the worst, and I'm so miserable doing them that I know they aren't my best work and that just makes me feel even worse.. It's an endless downhill spiral.

I'm sorry if I promised you one of these after I opened comms again, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to retract my promise. Doing literally anything other than these with my time would be more productive, and there just aren't enough hours in the day for me to not be productive with them.
