Finally made reference sheets for these four ^^ I'll also throw 2 in, just so you can see the whole lineup so far.

2:

2 was designed by me. Unlike their counterparts, 2 does not bother to keep the leaves and twigs out of their fur—they actually like the way that the bits of nature contribute to their appearance, as it sets them apart. They are tall and muscular, with a triangular jaw and large, wide eyes. They have small ears that naturally tilt out to the side. They are hardly, if ever, seen without their compass around their neck.

3:

3 was designed by Meh. here on WA. The only things I changed about the original design was adding a bit of brown on the tail, adding the ink marking on their chest, and adding the earring.
In terms of built, 3 is lanky, but they hold themself in such a way that still makes them look intimidating. Their face is thin, eyes slitted and curved downwards towards the nose, with a tuft of fur between their ears.

4:

4, I designed. 4 has softer features than many other characters yet created in this universe, but much more contrasting colors to make up for it.
They have large, round ears and eyes. They are subtly well-muscled, hiding this attribute under an appearance of thinness. All around, they appear just plain ordinary—and they are happy to be this way.

5:

5 was designed by Jitters WA. The only thing I changed about this one was a few less stripes on the back, the ink marking, and the earring.
[c]5 has a wide, elegant face and a long tail that tufts out at the end to match. They have slim legs but paws on the larger side. They are most recognized for their piercing blue eyes and focused disposition.

6:

6 was designed by Mayfly. I changed some of the stripes on the face and tail, added the ink marking, and added the earring.
6 is imposing. They ooze 'control-freak', yet somehow appear dignified and untouchable while doing so. They're almost beautiful in a strange, unique way, despite appearing cross or disapproving almost all of the time. They know how to use their looks and their status to achieve their ends, and aren't afraid to do so.
They have a very square face, wide ears, and slitted eyes. Their fur is always in perfect condition and, despite easily becoming cross or angry, these emotions are never enough to ruffle their pelt and ruin their appearance.

Trivia about these designs/this universe:
-6 was designed originally by Quail, but all of the other designs ended up being grey/very muted, so the brown design they did for me stuck out too much. Quail's design for 6 will be used as a main for another project, and may appear as a background cameo in this project.
-1 will be designed by 1-800-boi once they feel well enough to pick up drawing again
-Originally, 6's design was 4's design. I later changed 4's design to the black and white that it is now because the original version looked quite feminine on them, and they are meant to appear as neutral and ordinary as possible.
-Despite the layouts being similar, new lineart was done for each reference sheet for each new character so that I could differentiate their builds and expressions. Even the cartoony versions are all subtly but carefully different.
-The eye marking on their chests is neither a natural or supernatural occurrence—the symbol is applied to the fur with a 'paint' mixture that's about the consistency of water-saturated clay. The eye can have different appearances based on status, age, etc.
-The eye marking is actually a discomfort and a nuisance—the paint mixture clumps the fur together, and this tugs at the skin below when the cat moves.
-The eye as the symbol was chosen almost completely at random, (though technically the use of it can be justified) and may be changed to another shape/symbol in the future. However, as it does symbolically make sense, it may remain the same if nothing else can be figured out.
-The earring is also a sign of status, though it differs in nature slightly from the symbol on the chest and is obtained in a different way.

That said.. This is NOT an open universe—you may not make your own character for it, I will not be making adopts for this universe, and you may not use the characters above for your own purposes. It's just way too personal a project for that.
HOWEVER, I may ask later on for some characters that I can include as background characters—ones that take up space in the crowd, but don't play a role in the actual story. So keep an eye out for that if you'd like one of your characters to make a cameo in a PMV or storyboard or whatever I end up making with this universe ^^
