You were at work, leaving L and your daughter at home. You homeschooled your daughter to protect her identity.

"Daadddd!"

"Yes?"

"Can I have some ice cream?"

"Your mother won't be happy if I let you have another one. Keep this between us"

(D/n) had L's smarts and sweet tooth that's for sure. But she had your eyes and build, as well as your sass. As (d/n) quickly ate her ice cream, L couldn't help but smile as how much of his personality showed on his daughter. The ice cream was gone in a matter of minutes, so surprise from the daughter of L.

"How come mum always has to work?" She asked.

"Well at the moment crime has been low, meaning I have no cases to work on so she's paying for us right now. But as soon as I get a case she'll be home more often" L said.

"Another case like Kira?"

"Maybe not Kira, but a big case nonetheless, now come with me I need you to keep a secret"

(D/n) followed her dad into the laundry where scratching was heard at the door. When the door as opened, a small Labrador puppy came jumping up at (d/n).

"A PUPPY! Is that what the guy bought over this morning?"

"Yep, when your mum calls to check up on us, keep quiet about it. It's a surprise for when she gets home"

"Ok! What's it's name?"

(D/n) sat on the floor and started to play with the ball of fluff.

"Ponyo, but the breeder said we can change it"

"No! Ponyo is good!"

L smiled down at his little girl getting along so well with the new puppy.

"Can he sleep in my room? Please?" She begged.

"Maybe not tonight, maybe when he's a little older" he replied.

"Ok! Mummy will love this!"

Ponyo jumped up to (d/n) and stared to lick her face, making her laugh.

As if on cue the phone rang.

"That'll be your mum"

L picked up the phone and have it to (d/n).

"Hi mum!"

"Hey sweetheart! How are you guys?" You said.

"Were fine, how are you?"

"A little tired, but I'm good, what have you been up to?"

"Eating and watching TV"

"Has your father been watching anime again?" You asked.

"Yeah! That's all he ever watches"

"That's true, well I'm glad you're doing ok, can you put dad on the phone?"

"Ok, bye mum!"

She passed over the phone to L who responded almost immediately.

"Hello"

"Hello Lawlipop, you better not have given her more sugar" you said.

"I would never" he replied.

"She's been behaving right?"

"Yeah she's been fine"

"Ok, just wanted to check in, I gotta go I'll see you soon"

"Ok, love you"

"Love you too, bye"

And with that you hung up.

"Secret is safe" he said.

"Mummy will love us even more won't she?"

"I think it's impossible for her to love us more than she already does"
