The Two Societies (Part 6 of 8)
~A few moments later... (Totally not a sponge bob reference)~
Reaper 'popped' into Error's living room and laid Raven on the couch.
Raven was still out cold from her skull and spine being bashed against a tree.
Reaper called up to Error, "ERROR!?"
Two loud 'thumps' were heard from up stairs and the light tapping of feet was heard running down the stairs.
A dark boned skeleton entered the room in nothing but a night gown, "Uncle Reaper? Where's Cray? And-" It was PaperJam! She cut herself off when she saw Raven, "Oh! What happened!?" PaperJam quickly rushed over to Raven's side and knelt down. Her hands hovering over Raven's body as lime green magic enveloped the places Raven was injured in.
Reaper sighed, "Where's your mother and husband?" He asked.
"U-Uh Fresh is upstairs." PaperJams cheeks flushing magenta as she tried to concentrate on healing Raven, "Moms at the store buying food." She explained.
Reaper raised a boney eyebrow at PJ and examined her. A smirk spreading widely on his features as mischief danced in his eye sockets, "Oh....? Should we be expecting another from you and Fresh?" He asked curiously with a sly smirk.
PJ squeaked as magenta engulfed her skull.
Just then a shirtless, shadeless, only in boxers, light boned skeleton entered the room. Said skeleton looked around the room lazily until his gaze landed on Reaper who had his arms crossed with the widest smirk he could manage.
Fresh blinked at the intruder, "Uh.. Broski what cha doin in Error's home dawg?" He seemed shameless as he stood there in his boxers.
Reaper gestured to the sofa that PJ was currently kneeling against.
Realization crossed his features then morphed into anger, "Who hurt her dawg?" Freshes eye sockets light ablaze with his violet magic as he stared at his unconscious niece.
"Ink hurt her physically. His boys I can only assume drained her mentally." Reaper explained.
Fresh looked at Reaper cocking his head to the side in confusion, "Inks boys? Palette and Blueprint?"
Reaper nodded.
"How'd they manage that?"
Reaper sighed, "Palette is just like his father when it comes to-"
Raven, who they didn't know was awake, groggily cut off her father, "being a shit head and spouting things he should keep his mouth shut about."
Reaper summoned his scythe and bopped her on the head with the stick end of it, "what has Gen-" Raven cut him off again.
"Shut up Dad. Did you help me? No! As to why, I can only assume is was to help my case with the boys. To get it through their thick skulls that the thing they call 'Dad' is a self absorbed, power drunkin, dumbass that has it out for you Dad." PaperJam helped Raven sit up as she glanced around the room until her gaze landed on her basically naked uncle who was staring at Reaper. Raven chucked a pillow at Fresh's face who caught it just in the nick of time.
Fresh glanced at a gapping Raven and he chuckled, "Broski I think your forgettin that I had training too."
Raven glared one of Geno's infamous death glares at him, "Uncle Fresh, go put something on before I whack you in the head with something harder then a pillow." She threatened completely forgetting about her magenta flushed cousin that was engaged to the bafoon. When Fresh sped off Ravens gaze landed on Reaper who had a look of unamusment plastered on his face.
"Raven we are moving 3 weeks from now." Reaper bluntly stated.
Raven blinked at him, "What..?"
"We are moving."
"Why?"
"Geno and I don't want you kids around here when Ink takes out his anger on all Demigods and Gods."
Raven's face fell, "He wouldn't.." She trailed off.
"He would and he is."
"He can't! The King won't stand for it!" She exclaimed.
"The King doesn't care about his people Raven. Ink plans on enslaving Demigods and killing Gods if they don't obey..." Reaper trailed off as his scythe poofed away in a puff of smoke.
"He'll massacre them, won't he Dad."
Reaper could only nod, his eye lights trained on the carpet of the living room.
PaperJam spoke softly once both reapers had quieted, "Raven, does anything hurt? Anything at all?"
Raven hadn't even noticed PJ had been healing her this entire time. She moved her limbs in awkward positions but no pain arose. Her eye lights meet PaperJams and she hugged her cousin with all she had, "Thank you Jams."
PaperJams smiled and hugged her cousin back, "Anytime Rae, anytime." When Raven released PaperJam she got a flick to the skull, "Ow!" Raven held the middle of her forehead, "Jams~ what was that for!" She whined.
"That was for getting hurt." PaperJam huffed and then stood, "Now since your healed I think you should head home."
"But Jams I-"
"No buts Rae. Home. Now!"
Raven crossed her arms, huffing in disappointment. A 'pop' sounded and she was gone.
PaperJam turned towards Reaper, "Teaching her new tricks?" She raised an eye socket at him.
Reaper shrugged, "She's a quick learner."
PaperJam shook her head, "I'm going to get my husband so we can go to the doctors."
"So we should be expecting another." Reaper smirked once again.
PaperJam rolled her eye lights as her sauntered out of the room out of view.
Reaper let out a sigh. He floated over to the couch and sat down just as Error walked through the front door holding some grocery bags.
Error walked into the kitchen and put the bags on a counter. A squeal and a chuckle resonated from the stairs as a widely grinning Fresh came down fully clothed with a fully clothed blushing PaperJam sitting on his shoulder. Error shook her head, "You two seem happy." She commented as she sorted out the food she had bought.
"That's because we're headed to the docs broski." Fresh stated as he headed out the door.
"Mom! Reapers in the living room!" PaperJam quickly stated just as the door closed behind them.
Error stared after them. Then with a snap of her fingers her strings put everything away. But she stayed in the kitchen, "Reaper?" She called.
Reaper responded with a grunt as he floated across her home into the kitchen.
"So what happened?" She asked as her strings laid out some cooking utensils and some ingredients.
"I some how pissed Geno off and she kicked me out for a bit. Then my daughter got assaulted by Ink." He sat in a stool opposite of Error as she cut up celery.
Error froze in mid slice, "Which daughter and how did you piss my sister off now?"
"He attacked Raven." Reaper clenched his fists, "I don't know how I angered Geno. We had a lovely night and she threw me out the next day." Reaper's skull hit the counter top as he sighed heavily.
Error continued her slicing, "Well moping around here won't do you any good."
"You say that but that's all you've been doing for the past 29 years Error. Ever since Geno got kicked out you haven't gone to see her." He lifted his head his white eye lights meeting her red and blue ones.
Error scowled as her strings brought up a pan and she put the cut up celery inside, "I haven't gone to see her because my Royal Guard duties are numerous." She stated. Her eyes meeting the carrots she's now slicing through.
"Just go visit her before we move." Reaper stated bluntly.
Error froze mid slice once again, her eyes snapping to his, "Your moving?" She asked.
Reaper nodded, "Ink plans on enslaving Demigods and Gods, I don't want my kids involved in that. I already talked to the king about Goth." He sighed, "Despite his rudeness towards his people, he will happily appease a past Royal Guard member."
"Where are you going to go?" Errors stings put the small pan on the counter as she focused all her attention on Reaper.
Reaper smiled fondly, "We are going back to the place Gods at one point called home." He meet Error defeated gaze, "Any loved ones will be welcomed into our realm since Ink wants to play God he can without us here. All Gods will go back to our original jobs. And if the King of this world dislikes that then we will keep our appearances invisible to his gaze." He stated.
"So your taking Geno and your kids away?" Error asked, "Away, away? I'll never see her or them again away?"
Reaper nodded solemnly, "Geno was supposed to die 28 years ago Error, but due to my interference and love for her I couldn't." He scratched his skull, "Geno's in so much pain Error. And not just from her being sick. She needs to go to the underworld. Or the realm of Gods so her soul can at least be at peace. That's the only way she'll stop hurting." He sighs, "The king of Gods, Asgore, allowed her to live because she gave me a purpose. A purpose to live and complete my job. This was way after I meet her of course." He paused for a moment, "Asgore had given us a vacation of sorts. This vacation entitled us to be able to go and stay in the mortal realm for a time and help the king with the humans. Since the humans are so numerous and powerful."
Error looked at Reaper in confusion, "What does all this has to do with you moving Reaper?" She asked.
"I'm getting to that Error. Patience." Reaper continued, "The current mortal king made a deal with the King of Gods after he had performed a ceremony asking for our help.
'If you keep your kingdoms people in mind, stay away from greed, and refrain from using your power for evil then you may use my subjects to help keep the humans at bay.' Is what Asgore told the king.
The mortal king responded with, 'I may need them for years maybe centuries.-' Asgore had cut the mortal king off.
'How ever long you need them they shall be in your serves unless your kingdom falls to ruin in the forms of greed, selfishness, and corruption. And if you or your people hurt my subjects then may your kingdom fall to ruin. For my subjects are not tools, they are living beings too.' Is what Asgore responded with.
The mortal king agreed. They left it as simple as that."
Error started cutting up the carrots again, "So are you saying that the king has crossed a line?"
Reaper shakes his head, "Ink plans on enslaving us if he becomes king, Error. He is still apart of the kingdom. And do you remember what the king said?" He asks.
Error stopped cutting again, "Um, something about the kingdom falling to ruin?" She laughs nervously, her eye lights meeting his.
Reaper rubs his skull, "And I thought only Geno would tune me out." He sighs, "Asgore said '...if you or your people hurt my subjects then may your kingdom fall to ruin....'. With that said, what does the 'kingdom' plan to do?" He asks.
Error blinks at Reaper, "Ink is only one person. He can't have-"
Reaper cuts Error off, "Ink has been planning this for years Error. He has a massive following that thinks the 'Gods' should serve them as servants. Even demigods are at risk, half blooded or not."
"Does that mean Goth, Raven, Xahji, and Shino are.." Error trails off.
"Yes." Reaper's skull smacks against the counter again in frustration.
"You know, for a Dad of four you sure are a worrybones." Error chuckles.
"Well as a Dad I need to teach all four of them how to reap and to use their powers properly. As well as protect them from a psychotic art enthusiast that's bent on the enslavement of Gods and demigods." He states, his words muffled from the counter.
"You seem to have a lot on your plate. Sometimes I forget how loving you are to Geno." Error's strings pick up the small pan once again and she plops the cut up carrots inside.
Reaper lifts his head and inspects the ingredients Error has put in the pan, "Are you making a poison?" He questions raising a boney eyebrow.
Error glares at him, "No, I'm making food."
Reaper smirks, "Oh are you now?"
"I will kick you out Reaper."
"You enjoy my company to much." His smirk widens.
A knife is flung with Reaper narrowly dodging it from an irritated Error, only for it to be caught between the middle and forefinger of a very stunned Gradient.
Error gasps, "Gradient!? I'm so sorry!" She rushes out of the kitchen to her eldest son, quickly snatching the knife and placing it on the dinning table. She squishes Gradients cheeks as she checks him over for injuries.
"Muphm I aphm pine!" He tries speaking but Error is to focused on making sure he's okay.
Reaper shakes his head, "Error your smothering him." He chuckles.
"I almost just hit my baby with a knife Reaper! I will smother him until I make sure he's okay!" Error exclaims.
Gradient gently pushes his overly protective mother away, "Mom, I'm fine. See?" His gestures to his face and the fingers he caught the knife with, "If their is anything you've taught me it's how to be quicker then most." He smiles as Error pouts.
"That give me no reason to not check and see if I hurt you." Error grumbles out.
Gradient shakes his head, fiddling with his crimson rimmed glasses, he turns to Reaper, "Hi Uncle Reaper!" He greets.
Reaper smiles, "Hey Gradient, how's your little Bluescreen?" He asks sitting cross legged in the air.
Gradient flushes green, "U-Um.. We're fine." He vaguely replies while scratching the back of his skull.
Reaper cocks his head to the side examining Gradient, "No little ones yet?"
Gradient flushes a darker shade of green as he retreats into his hoodie, "N-No."
Reaper shrugs, "Don't let life get away from you. It easily gets away from me sometimes, then I have to catch it again." He grins cheekily.
Without warning Error smacks Reaper on the head with a knifes handle, "Yes because that was your job before you got here." She retorts.
"Ow!" Reaper cupped where Error had hit him, "That hurt Error!" Despite him floating Error seemed to have no trouble smacking him on the head again. "Ow Ow Ow!"
Gradient giggled, "Mom I'm heading out now! See you later!"
"Bye Gradient!" Error she called as she watched as her eldest son leave. She turned back towards her kitchen only to see Reaper lounging lazily on one of the stools once again. But this time he was checking his phone, "What are you doing Reaper?" She asked.
"Telling Raven not to tell Goth about what happened until the babys born." Reaper replied.
Error walked back into the kitchen and continued her 'poison' making, "Wont Goth get mad if you don't tell her before hand?"
"I don't want her stressing herself out with this. She already has a lot to think about and if we add what happened to Raven into the mix then she might explode." He explains while continuing with his little phone conversation.
Error shakes her head, "This is a recipe for disaster. You know that right?" She asks.
Reaper nods, "Let's just hope Ink doesn't destroy the Kingdom." He sighs.
"He's only one monster Reaper. Even if he wanted too he can't do anything without the kingdom demanding for a new king." She states.
"Goth's texting me now." Reaper quickly changes the subject.
"About?"
"Geno."
"Why am I not surprised."
"Because it's Geno."
"What's my sister doing?"
Reapers eye sockets widen before he bursts out laughing, "Pfft, Geno's having a slight temper tantrum."
Error blinks at him, "And your not going to calm her down?"
"I am but I need to know the situation first before I go in there. So Error, can I borrow your trash can lid?" He asks, his eye lights meeting hers with a sheepish smile.
