Around 6:00 pm, jack went to go check on the girl. He walked into the cabin and closed the door. Star was still fast asleep, laying on her back with the covers over her body.

He walked towards her and knelt down.

He couldn't help but stare at her beautiful face. She was an angel.

Usually he would just have sex with a girl and then let them go the next day. But this was different. He wanted to protect her. To help her recover and to keep her safe.

A soft groan came from her lips, her eyelids fluttering open. She was still in a lot of pain.

She quietly whimpered in pain, a tear falling down her cheek.

"Hey... easy..." he whispered, realizing she was still naked. He quickly stood up and walked to the closet. He found a black nightgown. It was Elizabeth's. Why did he still have it, no one could tell you.

He walked towards her and knelt down beside her.

"Star... let me help you put this on and then we can try walking ok?" He said softly.

She looked over at him and slowly nodded. He gently slid a hand under her and rested it on her back. He moved the covers off her body and slowly helped her sit up.

She whimpered in pain, holding her waist.

"Easy..." he whispered. She carefully moved her legs so she was sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Arms up."

She carefully lifted her arms up, wincing when she felt the slight stretch. He put the nightgown on over her head and helped her arms through the straps. It fit her perfectly.

"Let's try walking a few steps." He gently took her hands in his and helped her stand up. She gasped in pain, fighting back tears.

"Take it nice and slow." He took a step back, and she slowly took a step.

"Good. It's ok..." he whispered reassuringly.

She took two more steps before falling towards, doubling over in pain.

He quickly caught her, feeling so bad for the girl. He carefully sat her down on the bed and knelt down in front of her.

"Will you tell me what happened?"

She looked at him, tears filling her eyes.

"M-my father and I got in an argument. He had been drinking and I called him out on it. He proceeded to h-hit me. H-he called me awful names. H-he grabbed my hair after beating me and dragged me to the ocean. He gave me one more punch... and knocked m-me out before throwing me in the ocean..."

By now, tears poured down her cheeks. Jacks heart twisted in pain and sadness, but also anger. He would make the man pay for hurting this beautiful and precious woman.

"Oh don't cry..." he whispered. He carefully pulled into a hug and she buried her face in his neck, sobbing. He rubbed her back in small circles, his other hand resting on the back of her head. He whispered sweet nothings in her ear, letting her cry in his embrace.

"I want you to know something Star..." he said softly as he continued to rub her back.

"That man is a dead man. He will be sorry..." he carefully pulled away and placed his hands on her cheeks.

"I will protect you. I know we don't know each other very well. But I will keep you safe. I will help you heal and I will make sure you get better each and every day. I promise." He hugged her again and closed his eyes, rubbing her back.

He will help her recover. He will make sure nothing bad happens to her again.
