chapter three
"yes, Grandmaster Yoda, I will train her well," Thalo promised, he bowed gently to the grandmaster Jedi. Yoda nodded his head in acknowledgment, and he never expected to train somebody much older than an average youngling. he trained numerous younglings over the years, but a woman who is said to be eighteen? this was too uncanny for him to progress through the ordeal. this earthling is the second "chosen one" before Anakin skywalker, he thought that skywalker was the only chosen one but two? this was way out of his league.
Eve watched the two Master Jedi stand beside them and then lead them from the Council room to begin training. Master Windu never smiled nor laughed, he looked at them suspiciously but said nothing. Master Thalo was much different. He offered Eve a warm smile, making her feel a little more comfortable in this new situation. He must have felt her nervous energy. she was very much like him on his first day as a padawan and believed he would screw up on his training, he knew that these days were behind him and now he has a padawan to take care of.
Thalo placed his gloved hand on his padawan's small shoulder,
"Don't be so nervous, Padawan." He smiled at her, "Learning to use the Force is nothing to be scared about. I will teach you everything you need to know in time."
Evelyn smiled at him and nodded silently. Their small group turned down another hallway and entered a smaller circular room with cushions circled it. Thalo motioned to a cushion and Evelyn took a seat on one by a window. Callum sits next to her and the two Masters sit opposite them. Evelyn watches as Windu and Thalo sit cross-legged and close their eyes, in a state of meditation. She looks over at Callum, who looks back at her. The two of them copy the Masters. Eve tries to focus on meditating and calming her racing mind. The longer she managed her mind the more focused strange images became.
Shapes and Colors, swirling in patterns.
When she tried to focus on them some became clearer. She focused on a pale blue shape, twisting around the colorful space. The image inside unblurred itself and she saw something mesmerizing,
Herself in an ice cave, the small glowing crystal in her hand. She was smiling, a blue glow emanating from the crystal.
She turned and focused on a yellow shape, spinning and swirling. She found herself smiling as the images came into view.
She saw herself in a training room, twirling around as she swung her lightsaber, glowing blue and bright.
she can sense a lot of things within the room she was in. her master, the force, light, and power, swirls around her aura. maybe being Jedi isn't all that bad, to be honest? she felt the pulsing energy rippling through her veins, and she shuddered at the feeling.
Eve noticed an orange blur of an image race by and she followed after it, eager to learn all about this wonderful place. she saw her and Callum training, a floating sphere ducked and dashed around the air above them and occasionally shot a laser down at them. They would easily deflect it with their lightsabers. She saw Windu and Thalo in the background a smile of pride on both their faces as their Padawans learned to use the force.
all of the sudden, the orange blur turned this bright red burning feeling and she saw that she was on this lava-like planet. a woman wearing black robes standing over another Jedi that fell beneath her feet, and the black-robed figure was shouting about the fallen person beneath the black-rode figure had betrayed her and being betrayed by the Jedi. then flashes of lighting happened, the black-robed figure was fighting with another person who was wearing a cream-colored robe and had auburn hair, they looked familiar. it was obi-wan, she wanted to cry out for them to stop but no words left her dry lips.
the scene changed to some sort of a medical room with doctors working on the fallen figure as he lay on the bed. his breathing sounded forced and painful, he was dressed in white with a tousled set of hair. the room had a sense of a somber tone. it feels as if everybody is sad about the whole event, nobody said a thing, not once. the world stood still, the fallen figure's chest stopped rising and falling, medical machines making a weird noise, and the doctors or droids tried to save him but couldn't he was gone, and the cream-Robed man had a sad expression on his face he knew his friend was dead at this point. the black-robed figure's back was trembling and slashed the droid with its burning red lightsaber before storming off in a fit of rage.
she felt the vision shift to Naboo but all that she sees is a large crowd of people and they appear to be holding a white candle in their hands. she can hear some chat but they were soft and barely audible, the fallen figure was being carried away in a casket filled with flowers of many colors. The Queen of Naboo followed behind, eyes red and tears racing down her cheeks. Familiar faces followed behind the Queen, some she began to recognize, and others felt familiar yet she did not know them. The people mourned for their Queen's loss as the procession passed by. Eve felt their sadness, their pain, their grief. It was overwhelming.
She could feel a tugging sensation all around her,
"Evelyn."
Eve looked all around but no one was talking to her,
"Evelyn." the voice called again, a familiar voice, one she trusted, "This is a darker path, it may not come to pass. Join us again in the meditation room. Come back to reality."
Thalo's voice, Eve finally recognized it.
She focused and began to pull herself from the vision, she passed back out of the dark future, and the colorful future and landed back in the meditation room where Thalo was smiling at her. Windu nodded to her then focused again on Cal, who was coming out of his meditation. Eve wondered for a moment what Callum saw in his meditation. she knew this was going to be her fate, her downfall, yet she hasn't saw Thalo at least once during the dream even if she did he wasn't seen nor mentioned. she never saw his death being Snuffed by the ONE he loved. she wanted to warn Anakin about his impending doom but she didn't want to say anything till the time is right. she was deeply saddened to see the beloved queen's tear-stricken face and trembling lips, she wanted to hug her but couldn't. she was too far away yet so close. she looked ever so beautiful dressed in blue Decorated with flowers. a beautiful send-off to her husband. she knew the fallen figure was Anakin, her new friend, and caretaker.
she blinked once, blinked twice till she noticed a blur of colors in the room and she spotted her master hovering over her. his face wrinkled with worry, she felt that her brother was also waking up from his deep meditation as well.
