chapter one
"You seriously think we are going to be remembered by people one day? I highly doubt it." Evelyn scoffed as she rolled her bright blue eyes.
She looked over at her twin brother, Callum. He sat quietly beside her, the two of them looking out over the vast stretch of land that was their home. They always came up to this cliffside when the village kids were mean to them. They'd hideaway on the cliff so high you could almost reach up and touch the stars. Eve loved the stars. She could stare at them all night and get lost in her own little world, imagining a life amongst them. The feeling of freedom she'd get if she could travel the stars. But Earth was not a place where that could happen, no matter how hard Eve wished.
Cal put his hand on hers, reassuring her, "You never know what the future holds, maybe we will be remembered."
The twins sat quietly on the edge of the cliff. The wind gently blew through their hair and ruffled their clothes. The stars shined brightly against the darkness of the night sky. Eve nodded quietly, but neither of them said anything else. Content to sit in each other's company was enough for them. Eve once more looked up to the stars, sending out a silent wish that she could fly amongst the stars. Her troubles are forgotten back on Earth. Eve sighed and stood up,
"Come on. We should probably head back. Mom and Dad will be worried if we stay out any longer."
Cal nodded and rose to his feet. Together they made the trek back down the cliffside and walked along the forest path back to their house. When the twins walked through the door their parents greeted them with knowing faces. They knew the twins got bullied for being different and they always stayed out late when they were. The family embraced each other, sharing their love for one another. After, they retreated to their rooms. Eve sat on her bed next to the window with the curtain drawn back. She continued staring up at the stars. Glistening and sparkling. She watched a shooting star fly past and made a wish.
A wish for the future she dreamed of. A wish to live among the stars.
Evelyn watched the shooting star get closer and closer. Her eyes scrunched in wonder then worry. She watched as the light faded from the shooting star and revealed a spaceship. Eve shot up on her knees, pressing her hands to the window. She saw the spaceship circle near their house then turn and land in the forest. Eve leaped from her bed and quickly but quietly made her way to her twin brother's room.
"Callum." she poked his arm gently and he shifted in his sleep, "Wake up! I saw a spaceship! It landed just over the hill in the forest."
Callum's sleepy eyes opened, "Eve. Don't be silly. Spaceships don't land in forests." Cal rubbed his eyes, "Go to sleep."
"Cal, please!" Eve begged.
Callum looked up at Eve's face and nodded, "OK. OK." he sat up, "Let's go find your spaceship."
Quietly the twins snuck out of the house and made their way to the forest. Evelynn never expected to spot a spaceship in her small town before so this was all new to her to a certain degree, there's have been strange events that happened in the past in her small town before but nobody took any notice. she didn't expect to get out of bed at this late before for a while and she followed a dirt trail to found the spaceship where it landed but she couldn't pinpoint where it is till she looked up at the starry night sky.
~
Evelynn led the way through the dark forest, by only her instinct. She held onto Callum's hand so they wouldn't lose each other in the forest.
"We're almost there, Cal." She said softly.
"Eve... I'm not so sure about this." Callum whispered behind her, "The forest is too dark. How do you even see?"
"I just..." Evelynn frowned slightly, "I just feel it. I- I can't really explain it."
Just then the twins heard a loud hiss, but not from any native animal, it sounded more mechanical. Evelynn pulled Callum forward and broke through the clearing of trees to see a rather large spaceship with a ramp lowering to the ground.
"Master, are you sure this is the right planet?" a voice came from inside the ship.
"Of course. Grand Master Yoda saw this planet in his meditation. There are two Force users here."
Evelynn tugged Callum back behind a tree to hide as two men walked down the ramp. Evelynn peeked out from behind the tree and silently observed the two men. One has dark brown hair and darker robes and the other had lighter brown hair, a well-groomed beard, and lighter cream and white colored robes.
"Let's reach out with the Force. We'll find them faster." The man in white offers.
The one dressed in dark nods and closes his eyes. Evelynn watched in wonder as they both closed their eyes and their heads simultaneously turned towards where the twins were hiding.
"Come on out, young ones." the man in white called out, "There is no need to be afraid."
Slowly, Evelynn and Callum walked out from behind the tree and approached the two men. A feeling of trust forming between the four of them.
"Hello there." the man in white says, "My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi and this is my former Padawan, Anakin Skywalker." the other man, Anakin, waves, "We're here under the orders of the Jedi Council and Grand Master Yoda to find two Force users on this planet." Obi-Wan smiles at the twins, "And it seems that they found us."
Eve had felt a strong sensation within them and it was almost like it was burning but she shrugged it off naturally. It doesn't make any sense that she is force-sensitive despite the fact she's born to humans on planet earth who isn't a force-user either, why in the hell that two "aliens" come to earth and take them to a different planet to be trained? Eve isn't even that interesting, to begin with, she took a good look at Anakin. His hair was a dark brown that drifted over his eyes which appeared to be a beautiful shade of blue but they had some sadness within them like he had suffered a lifetime of pain and anguish, and the moonlight rays illuminated his face perfectly well in such a fashion that'll put the gods to shame, she can barely see obi-wan in the darkness as well. he has auburn hair with similar eyes like Anakin and wears creamy-colored robes with his lightsaber on his side.
The twins looked between each other and then back at the two men, curiosity winning them over. the silent screams turned into wails as the force tries to drive itself away knowing a terrible fate that is yet to happen to Eve.
"Show us." Callum spoke up, "What is the Force?" he added.
Obi-wan smiled warmly and lifted his hand, "This."
Slowly several rocks in the surrounding area lifted from the ground, floating at waist height.
Obi-wan continued, "The Force is an energy that flows through all living things. Some have it stronger than others, they are the ones that become Force-wielders, Jedi."
The rocks begin to converge between the four of them, starting to pile themselves on top of each other.
"The Force is a powerful ally to have with you. You both have an exceptional connection to the Force, but without proper training it means nothing." Obi-wan finished as the last rock set itself on top of the pile then lowered his hand.
Callum's eyes grew larger with wonder. He felt a strong urge to learn all there was about the Force. To learn what else it could do. Evelynn on the other hand was still cautious, she didn't want to have to leave her parents, even if it meant getting to learn to use cool powers like this.
"I want to learn." Callum spoke softly, looking up from the pile of rocks to Obi-wan then Anakin, "I will go."
Evelynn looked over at her twin brother then sighed quietly. She didn't want to leave her home, but she had to admit, it would be cool to learn to use the Force and do things like Obi-wan had shown them. Evelynn turned back to the two Jedi,
"Ok. We'll go," She started then crossed her arms over her chest, "But I want to say goodbye to our parents first."
Anakin nodded, "That's ok. We understand."
The four of them headed back down through the dark forest until they reached the meadow where their house was, finding the lights on and their parents waiting nervously inside.
"Kids, you can't run off in the dark like that." Their father scolded, his voice full of concern, "A wild animal could-" he stopped when he saw the two Jedi behind his children.
Their mother held onto her husband's arm and frowned at the two Jedi, "Who are you?" she couldn't believe what her hazel eyes are seeing with her mouth dropping to the ground in awe.
"Obi-wan and Anakin." Callum spoke first, "They are Jedi and they are going to teach us to use the Force."
Their parent stood quietly then looked at each other then back at the two Jedi, "What?" they couldn't believe what was going on and they thought the series "Star Wars" was made up by George Lucas for money and hoping it will last a long time, which it does. 40 years later, almost everybody across the world had either heard or had seen Star Wars and its characters.
"Your children are very powerful in the force but we need your permission to bring them to be trained by the Jedi council," Obi-wan explained politely.
"Jedi? I thought the Star Wars Saga was made up by George Lucas 40 odd years ago?" Mrs. Klin responded dumbfoundedly as she places her hand on her forehead in disbelief. How could she let her two children be sent away so they can be trained by two spacemen? This was getting out of hand. She wasn't sure what to make of this situation.
"Excuse us. Please give us a moment." Mr. Klin spoke gently ushering his wife out into the next room.
Evelynn and Callum looked at each other then followed their parents into the next room, leaving the two Jedi standing there.
Anakin looked over at Obi-Wan and the older Jedi shrugged, "I told you. This galaxy is not as advanced as ours."
"The older one, Callum, seems very intrigued to learn. I wonder who his Master will be."
Obi-Wan shrugged again, "I don't know. That is for the Council to decide."
~
After a while, the Klin family came back out to greet the Jedi again. They had already exchanged their goodbyes and with a respectful nod to the parents, the Jedi took the twins back to their ship.
"I'm guessing you two have never been in space before?" Obi-Wan asked.
"No sir." Callum looked all around him, absorbing the new tech of the ship.
"Then you better come watch this. You'll love it." Anakin called from the cockpit of the ship.
Callum rushed to the cockpit and Evelynn followed curiously. The twins watched as the two Jedi piloted the ship up into the atmosphere than out into space with ease.
"Here's the really cool part." Anakin smiled back at the twins and pushed a lever forward.
The ship adjusted itself and launched into the vacuum of space, tearing time and space at the seams and creating a brilliant blue glow as they shot through the stars.
"Wow!!" Callum's eyes reflected that blue glow
Evelynn smiled at her twin brother then looked back at the blue streaks flying past them.
