Here was the honest truth.
They all had no idea where Ivar the boneless was actually born. There were no records on the internet and they even called different Viking museums but they had no idea.
Ivar had never seen a map of the world before, he couldn't pinpoint where Kattegat was on the world map.
Kattegat on the world map was only a sea, but there were records that his father came from Uppsala, Sweden.
The world had changed dramatically since the 8th century and Eva had felt the need to constantly remind him that his homeland would not look the same as he remembered it.
Only Nick and Eva knew that this trip was for Ivar to find his home, but everyone else was here for the ride.
While they tried their best to find out where Ivar Lothbrok was actually born, they kept on exploring and enjoying the different cultures and cities. They travel to all the mainlands that Vikings originated from First Denmark, then Sweden and Norway. But the countries were so big that they couldn't discover all the hidden gems within them.
Even though they couldn't find the exact location of where Ivar was from, Ivar had to admit that he enjoyed his time in his homeland. The accents were very familiar, not exactly the same as his, but close enough.
They had met people who also spoke his Old Norse, to say Ivar was stoked about speaking his native tongue would be an understatement. He asked about what had happened to his people and to their language and why things had changed. The people replied simply that times had changed and everything else Eva had already explained to him.
After landing in Norway Ivar had finally given up on his plans. He secretly wanted to go back to Kattegat to get it back without an army. He knew he was intelligent enough to do it on his own with the help of a few. But he was learning that the world had changed, and the ways he once knew wouldn't make much of an impact it once did when he was born.
It had now been four weeks since they had left New Zealand and things were starting to fizzle out. At the start, everyone was excited and happy to be on vacation. But now that it had been four weeks in constant company, things were definitely getting tense between some people.
There were constant arguments on what to do and where to go because they had only limited time in each country. Though that was mainly between Elaine, Joseph, Nick and Avery, Eva was fine with wherever and Ivar was just happy as long as Eva was by his side.
Then there were moments of jealousy, though Avery had been warned by Ivar he couldn't help but gravitate towards Eva every chance he saw her not stuck to Ivar. He didn't exactly flirt, but he didn't have to his body language said it all. That caused a few arguments and even fist throwing at one point. Ivar threatened to kill Avery if he kept stepping over the line and Avery kept claiming innocent. Joseph, as usual, loved the entertainment but Nick was quite frankly sick of it and wanted to kick Avery's arse back home.
What they didn't expect was Elaine's jealousy. Elaine never said it outright but she was a bitch to Eva sometimes for no apparent reason. Everyone but Avery could see that Elaine was jealous of the attention he was giving Eva and not herself. But when Elaine would start to bitch at her sister, Ivar was quick to shut her down.
"This was not how I imagined this trip to be," Eva sighed
"It was those two idiots who invited themselves who has been causing all the trouble," Nick spat, "we should let them do their own thing."
"I agree, let them be on their own," Ivar smiled, "those two deserve each other."
"No way, they've been our number one entertainment this whole trip," Joseph spoke up. "We'd be bored without them."
"Heres your food," a waitress places burgers and fries on the table. They had just landed in Norway and finished unpacking, Elaine and Avery too tired to eat went straight to bed.
"Anything else I can get you?"
"Just your name and your number," Nick winked, "If you will."
The waitress blushed and excused herself. All the guys chuckled and Joseph bets ten dollars that the receipt would give all the detailed he asked for.
"Ivar, please can you just tone down your aggression towards Avery, he's a good guy and he hasn't tried anything," Eva sighed as she ate a chip.
"He knows you are my woman, and he's constantly pushing his limits," he said with his mouth full.
"Is she your woman?" Josephs voice doubtful.
Ivar and Eva hadn't put a label on their relationship, but they certainly acted like a couple. They had an understanding that they were each other's and didn't feel the need to announce it because it was quite obvious. Also because they both couldn't care what others thought. Their relationship was like no other, they both knew they loved each other and as long as they were together they were happy.
Yes, Eva expected a little more from Ivar, but she was happy with taking things slow. She also had a feeling that Ivar was holding back with good reason, and she had no intention of finding out what that reason was.
"Even a blind man could tell she is my woman," Ivar hissed.
Everyone just turned their attention to Eva waiting for her answer.
Eva just laughed and shrugged her shoulders, "You heard the brute Viking, I can't disagree."
"Do not act like I am keeping you by force," Ivar frowned at Eva.
"I didn't say that," she rolled her eyes.
"Whats with the attitude?" Ivar continued
"My attitude? funny coming from the green-eyed monster," she bit back.
Nick and Joseph watched in amusement at them bickering.
"They are definitely together, no doubt about that," Joseph laughed.
"Sounding like an old married couple already," Nick replied.
"Name your first son 'Joseph' after me, yeah?" Joseph cut in their bickering, "Uncle Joseph, I like it."
"Not even in your dreams, loser."
"Ivar! and who said we're having children?" Eva clearly caught off guard.
"It was never a question, love," Ivar rolled his eyes, "I do not even need a seer to prophesy that."
Nick and Joseph continued to chuckle at the banter, clearly enjoying the direction of the conversation.
"Don't talk about having my children in front of people when we haven't even kissed," Eva snapped, over his self-assured attitude.
"Ohhhh," Nick howled, while Joseph was busy choking on his drink with shock.
"Do not force me to do things I do not want to by humiliating me in public, Eva," Ivars eyes narrowed into slits.
"Get over yourself, I'm going to bed," Eva stormed off to her hotel room.
Ivar was going blind with rage, he didn't want to fight with Eva but she didn't have to humiliate him in public. He wanted to kiss her at the right moment, to make it special and she threw it in his face.
Ivar picks up his cup and threw it across the table, then went on to push the trays of food off. Everyone in the restaurant was staring at him, but he couldn't care less.
"Aww, Ivar you angus prick!" Joseph moaned, "now I have to order again!"

The next day had been a long one for everyone, Ivar and Eva's argument caused the atmosphere to be tense. Definitely didn't help that Avery took his opportunity to get to know Eva a little better when he saw the door open.
With that happening Elaine was playing attention seeker to try and divert Avery's attention which looked really pathetic. Ivar had been staring daggers at Avery all day, and Eva felt a little rebellious and indulged a little in Avery's attention just to piss Ivar off a little more.
Nick and Joseph by this point were sick of the petty fighting and the tense atmosphere that they decided to go back to the hotel early. It was only about five pm, Elaine and Eva went back to their room as the boys did their own.
Ivar had been rooming with Nick much to his dismay, he argued that he should be with Eva. But it was Eva who made the decision, she knew Elaine would jump on Nick or Avery at the opportunity, even Joseph and she didn't want any drama to arise from that.
Elaine was getting ready for a bath and Eva was laid out on the bed flipping channels for something in English.
"What happened to you and boneless," Elaine asked as she looked for clothes.
"Just a petty argument as usual," she sighed
"I don't know what you see in that handicap."
"Look, Elaine, keep your opinions to yourself alright I'm not in the mood."
"Stick up your arse or something?" Elaine chuckled "All I'm saying is there are other guys out there who are way nicer and more handsome than Ivar,"
"Who? like Avery?"
That caused Elaine to stop for a second then she tried to carry on as if her answer didn't affect her but Eva caught it and she was satisfied with the reaction.
"Elaine, Ivar is the reason that we are even in the same room today," she pointed out. "Maybe you don't like Ivar, but I have many reasons why I am grateful for him. You're young and maybe more experienced than me, but I know I will never find someone who will love me more than Ivar does. I don't think I could ever love anybody more than I love him. So keep your opinions to yourself, because if anything Ivar's been a blessing in both of our lives."
Elaine just sighed, knowing her sister was right. If Ivar hadn't announced her pregnancy she would have struggled with it herself. With that said and done she went to the bathroom.
Eva continued to watch tv until someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," she yelled.
Avery walked inside to her surprise.
"Hey Eves, I think Elaine has my watch," he smiled, "I gave it to her to hold and forgot to get it off her."
Eva got off the bed to look in the side draw Elaine had put it in.
"Yeah she put it in here but I'm not sure where," she said as she pushed Elaine's makeup and jewellery around.
Elaine clearly had too much of everything and wasn't planning on cutting down anytime soon.
Avery moved closer to help look for it, but Eva had noticed his head was a little too close. When she was about to move to put some space between them, Avery grabbed her wrist to hold her in place. When she looked up his face was only inches from his.
Eva panicked, she hadn't been in this situation before and even though Avery was handsome, kind and everything she would have loved... he wasn't Ivar.
"I know this isn't right," he breathed, "but Eva, I've had a crush on you since year ten, and I've been a wuss for so long but I just can't take it anymore."
Eva's eyes widened in shock, "Avery, please don't do this."
"I know you like Ivar, I can see it," his eyes now pleading, "but you aren't a couple yet, so I thought I'd try my chances. Please, Eva, I promise I'd do my best to always make you happy if you give me a chance."
"I'm sorry Avery..."
"Just give me a chance, please I'm begging you," he cried.
"Look, Avery, you've known me for years," she sighed.
"You had plenty of time, now that Ivar's come you chose now to make a move?"
"It's not like that..."
They hadn't noticed the tap in the bathroom had shut off and the door opening. Elaine caught them in a very suspicious manner she couldn't help the green-eyed monster she'd tried to hide this hold trip from coming to life.
"What the hell is going on?"
Elaine quickly pulled away from Avery whilst he just winced at Elaine impeccable timing.
"Nothing, we were just looking for Averys watch you had," Evas' voice awfully high.
Eva wasn't fooling anyone, Elaine knew she had interrupted what looked like a very intimate moment.
"Just shut up Eva!" Elaine snapped "I'm so sick of being second best!"
The room stilled, the air was tense, Eva wasn't expecting Elaine to say that.
"I'm so sick of living in your shadow! Do you know that you have every single guy on this trip at the snap of your fingers?"
Avery flinched, knowing it was true.
Eva just sat in shock watching Elaine stand in her bathrobe venting her pent-up frustration.
"It's truly ridiculous because you're so naive to see it. The only reason why you know that Ivar loves you is that he straight out said it to your face or you wouldn't even have a clue. Avery has been pining after you since we all met four years ago, Nick secretly admires you but he sticks to the bro code. Heck, even Joseph would probably try his chances if he wasn't gay! Even then Joseph prefers you over me."
"Elaine..."
"Why do you think I was always such a bitch to you? Because you always stood out in the crowd, you were always the beautiful one, the one who stole the attention when you walked in the room. Even mum and dad favoured you over me, why do you think I use to spread dirt on you? So someone would finally notice me!" venom dripping from her voice.
"Elaine, that's enough," Avery cut in.
"And you!" she drags her blazing gaze at Avery, "you knew I had the hots for you, and that Eva had someone else yet you still reject me! What am I not good enough of a Sorenson for you?!"
The front door opened and Ivar was crawling his way in, with Nick and Joseph hot on his heels.
"What the hell is going on?" Nick spoke first
"We can hear you yelling next door," Josephs eying Elaine
Ivar just looked up at Avery and stared him dead in the eye.
Ivar looked ready to kill.
