【Gellies】
Hello guys! Another adoptables chapter, but this time: with my own species? That's right! I have a new species and they're adorable!
This species are called Gellies (singular: gellie) and they're cute, cuddly creatures that raise both dopamine and serotonin levels. They can float and fly, even without wings (as they are naturally very light creatures). They're nocturnal creatures, sleeping all day and playing all night. They can be any gender, any color, and have any marking/patterns. Gellies reproduce asexually. How they do it is similar to budding, only instead of a little guy growing on them, they drip their Star Jelly on the ground. Depending on if the Gellie has a mate, this little bud can have two or more parents that drip their own Star Jelly on the ground and mix it all together. This is a species where polyamory is common place. Gellies tend to have up to four mates at a time, but in rare instances, they can have up to eight! Rainbow variants are incredibly rare, as Gellies don't always want to 'mate' the same time others do.
Gellie young are little blobs of Star Jelly and fur. They look a little like eggs with legs, and eventually, as they grow older, break out of this 'egg'. Their little heads are what form typically, then their arms. The left over Star Jelly expands and depending on how much they have determines ears, chest 'fluff', wings, and tails. The average size looks exactly like the one Celeste (species mascot) has, although it can vary significantly. You can also trim or add more to your little bundle of joy, but be warned that adding more actually impacts the health of your gellie. Too much Star Jelly and the Gellie struggles to float around, which is often their main mode of transportation. Taking away Star Jelly though is very painless and can be used medicinally. It's got a sweeter taste to it, however it is advised not to eat it constantly unless you want a stomach ache.
If you're someone not wanting any Gellie babies running around your home or on the streets, there are methods that can discourage budding for these creatures. There's a few types of natural and unnatural medicines Gellies can safely consume that keeps their Star Jelly firm. The softer and more liquid-like the Jelly is, the likely they are to spawn more little guys. There's also making sure your little friend has another little friend. These creatures are friendly towards all other creatures, and require lots of attention. Often, these creatures only bud when they feel lonely, so having a friend helps stop them from budding.
Gellies are omnivores, preferring to eat lots of fruits and veggies. They can eat little bugs and small bites of fish and other assorted meats though. They aren't hunters. It's actually believed these creatures were gifts from the gods after the hardships in the past, which is why they have seemingly no evolution line. They seem to literally be creatures from the stars (and they are!) They all have the same traits as one another: dull fur with brightly colored Star Jelly. As stated previously, they can have any color or pattern, but its important to remember that they are never, ever black, gray, or white. Deceased Gellies turn a shade of brown, so keep that in mind if you choose the color brown.
Species Rules:
Due to the unique nature of these being my second species (first one is permanently gone for personal reasons), I want to protect these little idiots as best I can. I understand that people may want to make their own without asking me first, so I won't ask you to do that (with one exception). All I ask is that you read the rules below and try to follow them. I may expand this list in the future or remove things depending on what I see fit.
Now, in my world, there are Beast Gellies, just like their are for any other animal (since Gellies are just another animal type in my world). If you're someone wanting to make an anthro Gellie for yourself, please let me know!
Gellies are not aggressive creatures in any way, so please refrain from making any aggressive variants. Gore is... alright as long as it's something akin to pastel gore or candy gore. Anything realistic and I'll be blacklisting you from adopting from me. These little guys are meant to be used for comfort, so I don't feel entirely comfortable with actual gore for them.
Gellies might not fit into your world that well, and that's okay! If you have to take away your gellie's ability to fly or anything, that's okay. Just do let everyone know that you're doing an 'Alternative' version of these little guys.
You can make your gellie have any accessory under the sun, within reason. They are about the same size as an average house cat.
You can make any regular feral Gellie you'd like, just be sure to credit me!
