The next morning Evangeline woke up and knew it was the day she would hopefully go to Growdnzey school. It all depended on the mirror pathway and the secret spell of course.

The mirror pathway was the only way into the three schools. There was only one school for the fairies, one for the witches and wizards and one for the elves. Although most students were homeschooled.

Evangeline's deepest darkest secret was that she was a witch, a fairy and an elf! The punishment for being more then just one of those, was... execution. It was easy for all the rest of the kids to go in, because all they had to do was let a bit of their blood spill around the mirror where they would walk through and get there. The mirror opened different portals to each school. But Evangeline had to do a spell to separate her blood and only let the elf blood go on the mirror because her name was Elvencore and if she went to another school they would know she was an elf from her name.

The other creatures had other schools. The orks and ogres and trolls went into tunnels. The vampires went to a black castle hidden well in the mountains. The ware-wolves in a huge bunker underground in a forest. The zombies in a graveyard. The mermaids in the water. The reptilians shape-shifted to fit in with the humans. The angels in heaven. The demons in hell and so on.

So because of that, Mildred gave her instructions as to how to separate her blood.
She proceeded to follow her aunt's orders by the letter.

1.  Get a cauldron
2. Add water up to the middle
3. Heat it up until steaming
4.  Add ingredients: three spoons of salt, three of sugar, three of pepper, three of dirt, three of pure gold, fifty female cat hairs from one cat, half a teaspoon of wax from the person's ear, a cup of honey, half a cup of mountain ash, a bucket of sand, four balls of white paper, and a wooden harmonica.
5. Then mix the cauldron with a spoon until smooth.
6. Take out a wand and use sandpaper to add i little bit of its wood.
7. Take a knife and cut your skin so blood spills and put it on a plate next to the cauldron
8. Say the words whilst flicking your wand in a square way: "As we rose at first and grew into separate beings, now separate the blood and give me the elf blood I'm pleading" (after doing that a small red cloud hovered on top of the plate)
9. Take the blood and spread it around the area you will go through
10. Go into the mirror with your things

Evangeline's reflection changed shape from a split image of her to an elf version of her that she found quite unattractive.

Evangeline was shocked by the look of it and was glad she was a mixture. It then moved over and stood on the right side making way for her to pass through. As she went in, her glasses came off and her vision was perfect.

For a few seconds her eyes spun and she felt dizzy. When she recovered she looked around to find she was in a long rectangular empty room with mirrors on each side. She looked back and waved a final goodbye to Mildred.

Her 'reflection' in the meantime was walking to the end of the room. It sat down on a silver chair at a silver table snd waited for her.

Evangeline walked towards the table, pulling her suitcases. She took a pen, signed some papers and filled in her name and then it led her to a door that suddenly opened on the left side at the very end of the room. Evangeline took her two suitcases and went through.
