They walked in the office that was on the top floor and Aronrin sat at his desk with the young girl in front of him.

"Evangeline, either you have a really good explanation for what you did and you don't get punished or you don't tell me and you have to go to the forest alone to collect herbs." He said angrily staring at her eyes and into her soul.

"Well sir I erm, i-i wasn't really, I wasn't conscious." She stuttered.

"Billyweed" he sweared.

"Excuse me?" She said shocked by his language.

"You heard me! There's no way you weren't conscious. Any other excuse?"

"I'm telling you sir, I didn't mean any harm. Although as you can see here..."
and she showed a bald patch in her hair "he grabbed my hair and pulled it out!"

"Ok enough!" he slammed his hand on the table. "I've never encountered such an awful child before! Let alone a girl! What kind of parents raised you?!? ..."

She stared at him blankly wanting to punch him right in the face and tell him she didn't have parents and that she was actually an orphan.

Instead she waited for him to finish his speech so she could go, she didn't care where, she just wanted to get away from this creepy old place that so many students called home.

The headmaster went on and on and finished at: " for that you will be gathering a list of potion ingredients i will give you on Saturday. It's Wednesday today so in three days. Get out."

She got up to leave but he grabbed her tiny wrist. "Oh and I almost forgot, you get to stay in the forest for seven days before you come back.  If you do come back that is. Your familiar can come with you if you are willing to risk its life." He said and she struggled to get her hand back and then ran out tears rolling down her cheeks. She didn't even look at ms. Alfredalma this time. Ms. Alfredalma saw her and wished she could save the child from the forest. But she couldn't. She had overheard everything.

She didn't want to die! She was too young to go into the forest alone. And she was NOT going to take Norvix. He might die!

At lunch the four girls all sat together and ate. The other children around the dining tables kept on glancing at Evangeline and away. The news had spread.

Amy started talking. "What happened back there in archery?"

"I really don't know actually. I must have blacked out. It wasn't my intention to hurt him. I hope you guys believe me." She answered.

"Of course we believe you! Even though we did see you and you did look quite scary. But you are our friend and my cousin. So anything you say, we trust. Also tell us, did you get a punishment?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yeah, i have to collect potion ingredients on Saturday in the forest alone for a week." Evangeline answered sadly.

"Well we aren't letting you do that on your own." Angela said.
The other three looked at Angela curiously. "We are also going to get in trouble for you! Isn't that right, Amy and Elizabeth?" Angela said and the Elizabeth nodded.

Evangeline started to say "No, no its ok girls you shouldn't get in trouble just so i am not on my own in a scary forest..."

"Well too bad because we've made up our minds now. Sorry." Elizabeth said and Evangeline laughed.

"So we need a plan. What can get us in trouble over here? None of us have ever done anything naughty before this year. How about not doing our homework?" Angela said.

"Nah, thats not good enough. Think of what Evangeline did. That was big. No offense big cousin." Elizabeth said

Angela, Elizabeth and Evangeline just realized that Amy hadn't said anything all this time and they stared at her.

"What are you all staring at?" Amy asked.

"Well, are you coming with us to the forest?" Elizabeth asked.

"No, I don't want to." Amy said and Angela looked shocked.

"Why not? We will have so much fun!" Replied Elizabeth.

"I would rather not give up my reputation and life thanks. And someone has to stay here to listen to the lessons and explain them to you  when you get back." Amy said simply.

"It's ok guys, Amy has a point. You will be ruining your reputations for me. It's the worst thing to get sent to the forest. Imagine what your parents will think when they learn. They will be utterly disappointed with you. No one will care if i go..." Evangeline said sadly.

"No one?" Angel asked. The others didn't know about Evangeline's family history.

"Umm, i mean my parents will of course but they aren't here." She nervously laughed.

"Well yeah, I suppose my parents will get mad, but they are also not here so..." said Angela.

Elizabeth would get double punished for sure.
