"Your gonna love this" Michelle laughed at Edward's enthusiasm.

"Since when do vampires like baseball?" Edward turned to her, a huge smile still plastered on his face.

"It's the American pastime. Plus, there's a thunderstorm coming. It's the only time we can play. You'll see why." They walked into a clearing, one big enough to fit a baseball game in. Esme noticed them first and took Michelle's arm.

"Good thing you're here. We need a umpire." Emmet smirked.

"She thinks we cheat." Esme guided Michelle to the side, casting Emmet a look.

"I know you cheat. Call 'em as you see 'em, Elle." Alice, who stood in the middle of the field, smiled.

"It's time."

Rosalie was the first to play. Alice threw the ball, at light speed and Rosalie hit it. The ball flew away, into the trees. Rosalie took off and Michelle smiled.

"That has to be a home run." Esme smirked.

"Edward's very fast." Rosalie passed the third base, nearing the third when suddenly the ball flew towards them. Esme caught it and Michelle smiled.

"Out?" Esme nodded, amazed. Rosalie stalked off. Carlisle was next. He hit the ball just as hard as Rosalie, only a little bit higher. Edward and Emmet both made a jump for it but hit the other instead. Carlisle made it with ease. Finally came Jasper, who looked completely in his element. He hit the ball as well and sprinted off. This time however Emmet jumped up a tree and caught the ball. Rosalie smirked and was about to go again when Michelle spoke up.

"Can I play?" Esme turned to her, surprised.

"Really?" Michelle nodded. "Of course." Michelle stood up from her crouched position.

"I can swap with Emmet, so he can swing" Carlisle smiled.

"Great idea." Emmet smiled as he swapped places with Michelle, taking the bat from Rosalie. Michelle quickly took off her coat, getting ready.

Rosalie smirked, moving closer to Emmet. "Give her a run for her money" Emmet nodded and got ready. Alice threw the ball and Emmet hit it, with the force of a tsunami. It flew high, to high for a vampire to jump but Edward smirked. Michelle grinned and jumped. She twirled around, pearl white wings appearing as she flew into the sunlight. She caught the ball and threw it, still in the air, back to Esme. She caught it. Michelle smiled and landed back on the ground.

Suddenly two strong hands wrapped around Michelle's waist making her squeal. "You are amazing" Michelle blushed seven days of Sunday as Edward pressed his nose into her hair, taking in the heavenly smell.

"Stop! I didn't see them..." Everyone turned to Alice and ran back to the home base. "They're traveling so quickly"

"You said they left the county"

"They did, but then they heard us..."Her eyes found Edward's. "And changed their minds." Edward's arms tightened around Michelle.

"Do you have your necklace" Michelle nodded, quickly placing the sack around her neck.

"Like that'll help. They've probably smelled her already"

"I shouldn't have brought you here. I'm so sorry." Michelle frowned, not knowing what was going on when suddenly....

"Could you use three more players?" Carlisle smiled, tens. The three new vampires looked at the vegetarians. They looked wild. No shoes, worn clothes and red eyes.

"Of course"

"I'm Laurent. This is Victoria. And James."

"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us."

"Our apologies. We didn't realize the territory had been claimed."

"Yes, we maintain a permanent residence."

"Really? Well, we won't be a problem any more."

"The humans were tracking us, but we led them East-" James, one of the vampires, suddenly snarled, his eyes on Michelle.

"I thought I smelled a bird." Edward jumped in front of Michelle, as did all the other Cullen.

"The girl is with us." Laurent held up his hands.

"We won't harm her."

"I think it best if you leave."

"Yes, I can see the game is over. We'll go now." Laurent tried, but James didn't move. "James?" His eyes never left Michelle's. Laurent placed his hand on his shoulder, snapping him out of it. They left, retreating back into the woods. Once they were gone Carlisle turned to Edward.

"Get Michelle out of here. We'll follow them." He, Emmet and Alice ran after the vampires. Edward picked Michelle up and ran her to the jeep.

"James is a tracker." Edward explained, seeing Michelle's confused look. "I saw his mind. The hunt is his obsession, and my reaction set him off" Edward started the jeep and raced off. "We're a large clan of strong fighters all protecting one vulnerable human. I just made this his most exciting game ever."

"I did this." Michelle realised. Edward's eyes found hers, but he kept silent. "I need to help them" Edward shook his head, stopping her.

"They don't know your an angel, yet, which gives us the element of surprise. If news comes out an angel is dating an vampire, all hell will break lose" Michelle groaned, her head in her hands.

"I'm so sorry" Edward shook his head.

"We knew the risks, Michelle. We all did"
