"HEY XANNE!" Someone yelled causing Roxanne to be pulled out from her train of thought. She turned her had to the direction of the voice to see Juliet.
"Hey Jules," Roxanne smiled, "how are you doing?"
"Oh nothing," she sang, "just getting ready for Hogsmeade, are you going with James?"
"I guess so," she shrugged.
Juliet noticed the change of aura of the blonde. How she use to be so bubbly but now, she looked the opposite.
"Rox, is there something wrong?"
"Why'd you ask?"
"You just seem. . . Off."
"Just tired," she lied, "I guess all the cheering from yesterday drained down my energy."
"I thi---" Juliet was cut off with an grunt. The two looked down on the person who just tripped.
"Maddie, are you okay?" Roxanne asked. The girl nodded her head before pushing herself off the ground.
"Sorry, I guess I'm being extra clumsy today," she chuckled nervously.
"It's true," Hazel said from behind, "she's been tripping on every little thing since this morning."
"We better get going," Maddie said. "Fudge Flies don't buy themselves, you know." With that, the two girls set off.
Juliet looked back at Roxanne, "I guess I better go too," she said, "you should too, I bet James is waiting for you."
"Yeah, anyways bye!" She waved her hand.
"Bye!" Juliet called off her shoulder, walking away.
Not a moment passed before Roxanne felt a familiar texture in her pocket. It was yet another note from the mystery person.
It's all fake.
WEEKS PASSED BY and before they knew it, it was already a week before Christmas. Everyone was busily packing their stuff for the Holidays, meanwhile Roxanne was in her dorm reading yet another book as she watched her roommates pace around in a hurry. It had been weeks since she recieved that note and weeks since she ever got one again. She never told anyone, not even James since it stopped. Though, she still had them hidden just inside the box beneath her bed.
Her and James weren't going home like the rest of the students. It took a lot of convincing to let James' parents let him stay.
"Aren't you going to pack, Xanne?" Juliet asked while she folded her clothes.
"Nah, I decided to stay here."
"Well that's no fun," she pouted, "Aren't you going to meet James' parents or something."
"Nope," she said popping the 'p', "we decided to go camping." She gestured to the backpack lazily sitting beside her bed.
A shriek made her jump up the bed as all the girls turned to Anne, "how romantic!"
"Just don't have too much fun in the wilderness, alright?" Hazel winked.
"Yes, mum," Roxanne groaned, "it's not like having sex with James in the middle of nowhere is part of my agenda."
"We'll never know," Hazel teased.
"Oh shush Hazel," Maddie tutted, "Roxanne has more modesty than that."
"Thank you!" Roxanne sighed, which Maddie responded with a wink. "Besides, the guys will be there too."
A FEW HOURS LATER, the girls have already left. Roxanne nodded to herself before grabbing her bag. She kneeled down to beside her bed to get only to see note sticking out of the front pocket.
Unsure, she took and gently unfolded it.
It will all be revealed tonight.
Shaking her head, she took her bag. Crumpling the piece of parchment on her hand and letting it fall down the floor with a very soft thud.
She smiled as she try to push back the thoughts roaming in her mind. Quickly, she took her backpack and headed outside to meet the boys.
Once she was by the exit of Hogwarts, James didn't hesitate to tackle her in a hug.
"God, I missed you," he whispered in her ear.
"James you just saw me yesterday," Roxanne pointed out.
"Like I said, I missed you." James smirked.
"Okay, we're here on a camping trip, not to Madam Pudifoot." Sirius interrupted the two.
"Always ruining the moment," James grumbled under his breath.
"Okay, who has the map?" Roxanne asked. Remus held up a piece of paper in his hands. "Lead the way, Remy!"
"IS THIS STEP FIVE OR SIX?" Peter asked, looking over his book and the disfigured tent in front of him. Remus and James were nowhere to be seen after volunteering to collect some firewood while Sirius was arranging the food. Meanwhile Roxanne was sitting by herself, watching the distress of Peter Pettigrew.
She chuckled to herself before pushing her body off the ground and walking towards the boy.
"Need some help there, Petey?" She asked with a warm smile.
Peter nodded his head furiously while still looking confused at the page he was in. "I'm not really that good in setting up a tent."
"I see, to be honest James should be doing this," Roxanne pointed out, "that lazy git."
She picked up the sticks on the floor and started removing it from the tent to start over the process.
"Okay Peter, I need you to stand right there and wait for the pole, okay?" She instructed. Peter smiled before doing what he was told.
In a matter of a few minutes, the tent was already set up.
"Good job, Petey!" Roxanne cheered.
"Oh please, it was mostly you who did all the work, I just followed what you told me." He said timidly causing Roxanne to ruffle his hair.
"It was a team effort, Petey," she grinned.
Peter smiled warmly at her by the way she treated him. Most people would always look down on him and see him as someone less than his friends. He wasn't unattractive, people just prefer his friends more than him. Meanwhile Roxanne made him feel equal. Like whenever she's around she'd always find time to include you. That's why Peter felt guilty. Guilty of how everything started.
"Well, I'm gonna go and see what Sirius is up to," Roxanne said, "want to come with me?"
Peter shook his head, "no it's okay."
"Suit yourself," Roxanne shrugged before turning around and walking to where Sirius was.
But on her way she heard something.
"Psst,"
Roxanne turned around to see nothing. Frowning, she began to walk again.
"Roxanne," someone whispered. This time, she spotted a shadow by one of the trees. She looked around seeing Sirius with his back turned to her and Peter already inside the tent.
She quietly made her way to the voice, careful not to let any of the two boys notice her.
Once she was just a step away from it, the person moved away from the tree.
"Juliet?"
