Jimmy Darling - Not So Different

Normally people look at me and see a normal girl. What they dont know is that I'm far from normal. What they don't see is the tattoos covering ninty percent of my body. The only places I dont have tattoos are my face, neck and hands.

I started to get tattoos at quite a young age and I never stopped. My body is filled with elegant patterns and I'm proud of it. Except I always have to hide them to fit in with society. Not everyone will accept a heavily tattooed woman.

I haven't dated anyone in years because when it got down to doing something physical, I would back away because I was too afraid of the judgement.

A few weeks ago, I found out about Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities, a freak show in simple words. I was putting off going because I was nervous. What if Elsa rejects me? What if I'm not 'freak' enough for her show? I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind and decided to go.

I got in my car and drove there. I parked my car by the side of the road and walked towards the vast array of tents scattered in a field. As I got closer there wasnt many people here. There was only about ten, including myself.

I walked up to the stand to purchase a ticket. The boy selling the tickets was quite attractive, he had dark brown eyes and dirty blonde hair which was curly. What was most interesting about him thought was his hands. His fingers were fused together making his hands look like lobster claws. I walked up to him.

"Hi." I smiled at him.

"Hi." He replied and returned the smile. "What's a pretty girl like you doing here?"

"I've came to see the show." I reply.

"That's a first, an extremely beautiful girl coming to see a freak show willingly."

"We're not so different." I reply. "Anyways, can I purchase a ticket?"

I buy the ticket off him and walk into the big tent and find a seat. Once the show started I just knew that I needed to work here.

I clapped along with everyone else once the show was over and waited until everyone was out the tent. From the corner of my eye I saw Jimmy coming down from the stage to approach me.

"What are you still doing here? The show finished ages ago." Jimmy says.

"Do you know where Elsa is?" I ask.

"Why do you want to see Elsa for?" Jimmy asks.

"I want a job." I reply simply.

"You do know that it's a freak show, right? You look pretty normal to me." He says as he folds his arms.

"I told you earlier that we're not so different and we're not."

"Unless you have wings under that jacket, you're not getting a job." He replies.

"Well it's not wings." I reply and shrug off my jacket.

Jimmy's eyes widen as he looks at my tattoos.

"They cover my whole body except my face, neck and hands."

He looks over my entire body, his eyes lingering a little too long on my chest.

"Oi, loverboy, eyes up here." I say and he quickly looks back up, his face slightly red. "Now will you take me to see Elsa?"

"Yeah sure, follow me." Jimmy says and I follow him.

He holds open the tent flap for me and gestures for me to go in.
"I'll wait here." He says. I only nod in response.

"Miss Elsa?" I call out.

Elsa walks out of one part of the tent and toward me and gasps.
"My dear, your tattoos are gorgeous." She says.

"Thank you, I've come to ask of a job." I say. "My tattoos cover my entire body."

"Can you show me?" Elsa asks.

I nod and begin to take my clothes off, only leaving me in my bra and underwear.

"Do you have any talents?" Elsa asks.

"I used to be a sword swallower a while ago so I can do that." I explain.

"Then I would be delighted to give you a job." Elsa says.

I break out into a smile. "Thank you so much Elsa. When do I start?"

"Tomorrow." She replies.

"Okay. Do I need to wear anything specific?" I ask her while getting changed back into my own clothes.

"Wear something that will show off your tattoos." Elsa replies.

"Okay. Thank you so much." I say. "I'll see you tomorrow." I give her one last smile and walk out.

Jimmy was still waiting outside the tent and he looked up as I stepped out. He walked over to me.

"So did you get the job?" He asks.

"Yeah I did." I say excitedly.

"When do you start?" He asks as we began walking back to my car.

"Tomorrow." I reply.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow then..." he trailed off.

"(Y/N)." I say and put my hand out for a handshake. I see a hint of hesitation in his eyes before he shakes my hand.

"I'll see you tomorrow then, (Y/N)." He smiled and winked at me.

Before I get in my car, I lean toward him and kiss him on the cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow Jimmy." I say before I get in my car and driving away, leaving Jimmy standing there with a grin on his face, touching the place where I kissed him on the cheek.
