Chris woke up to the sound of someone talking. It sounded like a one way conversation. "I didn't mean to!" He heard someone say. Chris recognized it as a girl's voice. Maybe it was Evalyn's? He couldn't exactly be certain. The last thing he remembered was following the new girl, Evalyn, out of the house and into the garden where he found her up in a tree. Then he said something to offend her, then her eyes began glow. That's it! That's what made him faint in the first place! "Well what do you want me to do!" Chris heard Evalyn say to someone else.
"No," she said. "We can't do that. That would raise a lot of questions."
Can't do what?! Chris thought frighten. And who is she talking to? Certainly not me, and certainly not herself, right? Chris suddenly groaned as he realized how much his head hurted. I must've fallen on my head pretty hard. Apparently his groan was heard because the voice talking around him, stopped. "He's waking up." Evalyn said to her non-speaking companion. Chris allowed his eyes to flutter open. He produced another groaned as he put his hand up to aching head. He looked up to Evalyn staring down at him. She was crouching down on her hind quarters, no looking at all concern for Chris' wellbeing.
Sitting down next to Evalyn was a cat. It wasn't any normal cat, it was the cat. The cat that knocked on Chris' window yesterday to be let in. It stared at Chris with unamused eyes. He then realized that the cat was Evalyn's non-speaking companion. The cat crouched down and pounced forward, landing squarely on Chris' chest. The cat dug his claws into his skin, causing Chris to cry out in pain.
"Leo, knock it off." Evalyn said. The cat, or better known as Leo, listened. But Chris could tell the cat still wanted to dig his claws into Chris' flesh. Evalyn moved over to where she sat face to face with Chris. "Okay," she said. "Why don't you tell me what you remembered."
"What I remember?!" Chris cried out. "I saw your eyes glow! What the heck was that all about?!" Evalyn closed her eyes and cursed herself for being so reckless.
I still like my plan, Leo said, giving Chris a murderous look.
"We're not going to kill him, Leo." Evalyn said calmly.
"Kill me!" Chris said struggling to get up, but Leo extended his claws out into his flesh, forcing Chris to settle back down. "He's yours, I'm guessing?"
"Yes."
"Okay then." Chris swallowed his fear as much as possible. "So would you like to explain what went weird with your eyes? I'm very curious to know." Chris spoke as calmly as possible, but small squeaks came out between his words. As Chris looked at Evalyn, he could see from her expression that there was no way out of this. She sighed deeply.
"Let him up." Evalyn said to Leo, who complied with a growl. He hopped off and land on Evalyn's lap where he stood very tall and very proud. Evalyn began to stroke his fur as she watched Chris sit up against a tree. "Remember that I told you there are things in this world that you'll never understand, earlier?" Chris thought back and nodded to himself. Yes, he did remember. Vaguely, but yes. "Okay. Well here it goes... I'm not from here."

Chris tilted his head at her. Of course she wasn't from here, he thought. She probably came from one those cold states, that's why she wears the turtleneck sweater. Looking at her, he made a lopsided grin. "Oh," he said. "Okay, I got it. So what, you're from Utah, or Colorado, or some state like that. But that still doesn't explain your glowing eyes." Evalyn narrowed her eyes at him. Clearly not liking his statement.
"No," she said through gritted teeth. "I'm mean I'm not from Earth." Chris tilted his again. He couldn't help the laughter that sprayed from his lips.
"Not from Earth?" He laughed. "Does that mean you're from Mars or some other plant like that?" His laughter stopped short when he felt his body being suddenly lifted off the ground. "Whoa, whoa hey! What's happening?!" When Chris was a good several feet off the ground, he felt his body flip and a strong force pushing him against the tree he was leaning against. Chris looked down and gasped. He saw Evalyn standing below him, her right arm stretched out and her eyes glowing.
Chris gulped. He knew he was done for. "Listen, and listen carefully." Evalyn said. "I am not from space. I'm no alien, or whatever you Earthians call them. I am from different world. My world is Tigen, and at the moment it is under attack by shadow demons called Dormins. And you just blew my cover."
