"Xavier?!" Chris said, utterly confused. Xavier stood leaning against the doorframe of the office door. He gave them a smug look. "What are you doing here?" Chris quickly added. At the moment, he was still in a bit of shock at being caught. Xavier chuckled.
"I was about to ask you same question, but it seems like I don't need to have your answer because I already know." Xavier said pushing off the doorframe and coming closer to them. Leo jumped in front of the desk and hissed at him, warning him to stay back. But Xavier only laughed at its attempt. "You know," he continued. "I didn't think that my job couldn't get any easier, you know. First off, all I had to do was babysit some half-blood brat until I'm told otherwise. And secondly, when the daughter of the Higher Council comes along—" he smiled wickedly— " It doesn't get better than that."
Chris was in total shock. How did he know all of that? Chris looked at Evalyn to see her face stoned. Her eyebrows were scrunched together, her eyes in total focus on Xavier in front of them. Chris looked back at Xavier. "How do you know—" Xavier put up his hand to silence him.
"Here." Xavier said. "Maybe this will help you understand." Xavier closed his eyes and when he opened them, they were pitched black. No whites of his eyes were shown. He smiled wickedly.
"He's a Dormin." Evalyn said through gritted teeth. She hated herself for not seeing it before.
"But—" Chris said, but Evalyn continued.
"A Dormin can take its physical form. Its form it used to have before they turned into shadowy demons."
"Bravo!" Xavier said. "Someone knows their history!" He then cocked his head. "And now, since I've been given direct orders from Him. I must take you back to Tigen where our Great Leader can do... well... whatever he wants to do with you." Evalyn stood up. She clenched her fist, ready for a fight.
"Over my dead body." She said. Xavier smile grew. And then, he laughed. He laughed so hard that it echoed off the walls of the office and out of the room where it continued to grow. His laughter stopped short with a long, creepy smile still on his lips.
"I was hoping you would say that." With a snap of his fingers, darkness fell. The hissing and growlings of other Dormins soon followed. Behind Xavier, the Dormins slowly crept in, hissing as they did so. Their shadow like bodies hugged the walls and flooded around Xavier. With another snap of his fingers, the Dormins attacked.
