EPILOGUE 1: The Babies

"I'm outside with the babies," Jeongguk's voice sounds over the phone. The sound of rain loud in the background causing me to pull a face at the weather. "Please open the door." He asks, politely. One of the things I love about my husband even to this day keeping his vow of respect.

Quick steps toward the front door, I open it, only to be met with the sight of heavy rain and a dripping Jeongguk making his way through it, one parcel clutched tightly to his chest as he reaches the front porch.

My heart pulls at the sight of him when he enters our home, handing the sleeping child to me, only to turn and run off toward the Range Rover again.

This time, I'm faster, placing a sleeping Nari on the couch, hoping that she won't wake up and start searching for her father the way she usually does. Jeon Nari, is a daddy's girl and as her mommy, I might be just a little jealous.

"Soa," Jeongguk calls, kicking the door with his foot. His hands immediately handing Jeongsan to me. The wide awake baby smiles at the sight of me, while his father starts removing his clothes. Dripping all over the place as he ambles toward the still sleeping Nari.

"Mom says she hasn't been eating all day." He sighs, "Do you think she's sick?"

I walk toward the sofa, careful to keep Jeongsan steady as I join his father to look at Nari with worry. Her lips are pulled into a pout. One that means she's most likely to burst into a fit of tears if we wake her.

"I'll take her to Dr Lee tomorrow," I sigh, feeling her forehead for any sign of a fever. "How long has she been asleep?"

Knowing Nari and the way she's able to sleep for hours, it's not new that she's asleep while her brother is happily nipping at my shoulder. His mouth leaving wet spots on the expanse of the skin.

"Fell asleep on the way home." Jeongguk replies, moving toward the staircase. His bare back flexing as he takes careful steps up it with Nari resting on his chest. "Be with you two in a minute. Need to make sure my princess is comfortable." Jeongguk smiles, while I roll my eyes in response.

"Your daddy loves teasing mommy hey," I place light kisses on Jeongsan who's hoisted on my hip, giggling with so much energy.

Never would I have thought Jeongguk and I would end up parenting identical twins. It's always been my dream home and looking at the boy who's a copy of his father, I'm so happy we have them. Our two beautiful babies.

He spouts and babbles, making me smile, "Yes baby, what are you saying?" I coo.

I bounce him harder, laughing as goes into a fit of giggles again. Big eyes turning into small crescents of joy. He looks just like Jeongguk, but for some reason, when he smiles, he resembles myself and Taehyung. It's the cutest thing.

"Do you want to talk to Mommy, huh, San?" I ask, receiving gurgles in response. He's definitely the more outgoing one between the two. Nari doesn't do much besides stare.

Jeongguk comes down the stairs, wearing his pyjamas with Nari resting against his chest. The way he holds her is so full of love and affection. The sight makes me smile in endearment. In the short amount of time that we've had our babies, Nari has become obsessed with her father and Jeongguk the same. I think he loves having a daughter as much as he loves having a lookalike for a son.

"She woke up while I was putting her down," He smiles, pecking my lips before he makes his way toward the kitchen. Jeongsan and I follow close behind. Me rolling my eyes because I know he must have poked her awake. The excitement still hasn't died down.

"Could you hold San, while I prepare the food?" I ask, handing over the bubbly bundle of joy. His sister stares at us in a sleeplike state. Her eyes half opened when I peck her cheek.

"Taehyung says, you have a work trip coming up." I utter, turning to plate the pasta for myself and Jeongguk. Unlike the life we grew up in, we both decided not to have any house staff. This makes what we do is entirely our responsibility.

It hasn't been easy, but we make it work. Now with the twins also demanding time from us and Jeongguk having an even busier schedule, it's been hard playing the roles of a businesswoman, mother and wife, but he helps where he can. Especially considering how busy the company has been keeping us both.

"I'm not going," He answers, rocking the twins on his shoulders while I place his food on the kitchen island. Steaming pasta that doesn't suit the weather outside, but we've long cared about eating appropriate meals. "I've asked Gloria to go in my place, but she still needs to get back to me."

I frown, taking Nari for feeding while Jeongguk starts eating. "You can't not go. You're the CEO-"

"Who has newborn babies and a wife that needs help." He cuts in, causing me to roll my eyes at him. Ever since the babies have been born, 3 months ago, Jeongguk has been hands-on. It's been lovely and I'm grateful, but his responsibilities at Kim Group need him too. Father has been yelling me for his lack of attendance. Of course Taehyung helps where he can, but it's not enough.

"Guk, you can't stay behind." I sigh, stroking Nari's cheeks.

"If I go, you go to your parents or to my parents. I'm not leaving the three of you here alone, Soa." He responds, whilst taking a bite of his food. Jeongsan gurgles in response, causing Jeongguk to smile, "See, he agrees with me too."

I roll my eyes, "Okay, I get it, they both love you more." Nari just continues feeding in silence. Her brown eyes staring at me in curiosity. "Hello, baby girl-"

"And Nari is sick, so I have to be here." Jeongguk concludes.

-

"I think we need to find a nanny." I moan, getting into bed while Jeongguk scoots over, running his hand up down my back while I tie my hair into a bun. Fatigue settling in after the hours it took to get both Nari and Jeongsan to sleep.

"They're still young." He reasons, pulling me into his side, with a peck to my forehead, "And they have healthy and living grandmother's who do nothing all day. Why would I pay someone to look after them, if they're grandma's are willing?"

I turn to face him, "I'm not taking our children to my mother without the two of us or Taehyung being nearby-"

"Then you'll take them to my mom. She's more than happy to be of service." He chuckles.

I sigh, wrapping my legs around his, "I'm considering giving up my position."

It comes out into the dark room, leaving a cloud of silence behind. I'm sure he's unsure on how to ask the questions I know he has.

"So you actually want to be the wife your mother had wished you'd been all this time?" I know what he means by that. Being a stay at home mom has always been what Mother has suggested. Before the babies, I've always been against it, but I've been thinking about it.

On a normal day, I see them less than Jeongguk does. Because my workload is more involved with the business running, the time I leave home is just after we've both gotten them and ourselves ready. He does the dropping and picking up from the Jeon Estate. Then I see them when it's night again and it's not the best arrangement.

"I know we're still new in parenting, but I want to see them more," I croak out, "It's probably dumb, but I want Nari to be as attached to me as she is to you." I sniffle, immediately feeling embarrassed, but she wouldn't even fall asleep without Jeongguk holding her. All she did was cry when I tried to get her to sleep. "And San, he looks so much like you, it's scary." I laugh, wiping at the escaping tears, "I just want to be close to them."

Jeongguk turns on his bed lamp, shifting the both of us to sit up, "Baby, look at me," He coaxes, rubbing at my arms, "Nari and Jeongsan love you and you may not see it because I think our daughter inherited your attitude, but she still loves you." He hums, "Just the fact that she crys after you every morning or stares at you everytime she's feeding shows me she does."

"Jeongsan adores you, I promise you. He's so giggly with you. When he's with me all he does is look at with this weird expression that really reminds me of you and Taehyung. It's scary, "He laughs," But they do love you and we can always stay up later having family time-"

"They need to sleep at a reasonable time, Jeongguk."

"We're their parents, babe. We set the time." He smiles, while I nod, pecking his lips because he's so understanding.

"You're such a good husband." I state, pulling him into a hug.

"Only because you're my wife." He smiles, pecking my neck.
