Easton's POV   

            Today indicates the third year since my mum died. "Mum..., I wish you were here, I wish you could see how far I've gone, I really miss you", I say with a sad expression looking at her grave. "And yeah Mom, dad's getting married soon", I say with a blank expression before continuing saying, "I know you would want him to live his life and move on.. but it just feels like everyday some part of you is leaving and I really don't want you to leave us". I talked to her for a while and then I left the cemetery to go home.

              As I got home, I saw my dad and his fiancee cake tasting for the wedding. I got into the living room and they asked me if I'd like to join but I refused. Then I went into the kitchen and I saw a girl taking out juice from the fridge. As she saw me she smiled saying, "Hi!!, I'm Maddison", I just gave her a cold expression saying , "Do I know you?".

               She replied saying, " Well you must be my soon to be brother"  I replied saying, "It's step-brother not brother and I guess you're the daughter of whom my dad's marrying". She nodded and I just rolled my eyes internally. I thought to myself, "Well great, I have to deal with her".

                Then she snapped me out of my thoughts by saying, "I've always wanted an older brother, I can't wait for us to become siblings", and she walked away. I just ignored what she said and went upstairs to my room. I took a shower, then I decided to take a nap.

                 I woke up in the evening from the sound of my dad yelling, "It's time for dinner". I groaned as the light hit my face as I opened my eyes. I came downstairs and saw that it was my soon to be step mother that was making dinner and her daughter and my dad were talking loudly. Immediately I was spotted by my dad, he said, "Oh Easton, come sit, Lucy's making dinner".

                 I just hummed an 'ok', and I sat down on the chair and then Lucy served dinner. The food was delicious to be honest but I just kept the opinion to myself. Soon Lucy and Maddison went home and then my dad said, "They are really nice and funny". I replied with a cold expression saying, "I still don't like the idea of you marrying her". "Son, please just give them a chance, I'm sure you'll get along fine and you'll be able to get over your mum's-", he was about to complete his statement when I cut him off saying, "Save it dad, I'm never going to accept them, how can you just say we should forget about mum's death, after all she's done for us, marrying Lucy feels like a part of mum is leaving each day, don't you just get it" and with that I ran upstairs and soon I fell asleep.

     The Next Day 

                I woke up from the sound of my ringing alarm, I groaned and switched it off and I got up. I took a nice warm shower and got ready for school. I headed downstairs to see my dad already made pancakes. Considering I was late and still angry about what happened last night, I just took a pancake, greeted my dad and said with a blank face, "I got to go now, see you later" and with that I left for school.

                As I got to school, I was greeted by a crowd of girls hovering over me, I just ignored them and went straight to my locker and dropped my bag. Ethan, my best friend came up to me saying, "Hey dude, why are you looking so down today". I just replied with a blank face saying, "Nothing to worry about, just family problems".

                 And with that we left to class, when we got to class, we took our seats. Ethan sat beside me and soon the teacher came in with a new student. My eyes widened as I see who it is.....
