"We must believe only in ourselves. Can't let go of each other's hands, we need to be together forever."

As the night progressed, Rein's mood came from a modest optimism to something that resembled acceptance of her situation, which included a few shots of alcohol. It was nice to forget about her stress, her thoughts, her worries for the night and sing karaoke with people that were just as intoxicated as her. It balanced everything out, in her opinion. She was glad she came after all; she couldn't imagine what she could be doing in her hotel room alone at this hour.
Taehyung and Hoseok were the most fun throughout the night, as they burst with energy the whole time. They seemed to like the attention they got from her.
Yoongi was the most entertaining he had ever been, and some of his playful personality that she saw in videos came out. Jungkook wasn't as shy as she thought, socializing with her and the other members actively. It felt like a thin barrier was there to be broken, and on this night, it finally shattered until it was no more.
Jin had called her over at one point with a secretive gesture.
"Rein... I have something really important to ask you." He sounded earnest.
"Yeah, what is it?" Jin put a finger to her lips, made sure Namjoon wasn't looking, then whipped out his phone with a sense of bravado. He started scrolling until he found what he was looking for.
"What do you think... About these selcas?" He held up his phone, flipping through about twenty before she stopped him.
"Uh... I like the, uh, sixth one," she said. Jin took his phone back excitedly.
"That one's my favorite too!" Rein smiled and was about to get her phone from the dining room when Yoongi threw an arm around her, making her jump.
"Where were you gonna go?" he asked. His arm was like a dead weight on her body.
"N-Nowhere," she replied. He nodded, too drunk to care about her suspicious answer, then sat down on the couch next to Namjoon. Namjoon flashed her a smile as Yoongi called for everyone's attention by raising his bottle.
"To us!" he exclaimed, pouring everyone another round of tequila. At the sound of another toast, Jin came over to participate. Everyone raised their glasses hesitantly and drank with a gunbae. Rein sat down on the other couch with a deep sigh, fiddling with her shot glass. Hoseok sat on the floor with a blank expression, thinking about God-knows-what.
She and Jin made eye contact, and he hopped over the couch to sit next to her, his shoulder touching hers. He looked around, then wiggled his eyebrows at Hoseok.
When Jin caught his attention, he sauntered over to sit next to Rein. Jin intertwined a lock of Rein's caramel hair into his fingers gently.
"Your hair smells good," he whispered, looking at her face for a reaction. She pursed her lips, her head getting foggy.
"Thank you," she said, patting his arm. "And your hair smells really good, too." She didn't know what to do with her hands, so she put them in her lap. She felt herself getting tired, and an unnatural urge to put her head on someone's shoulder popped into her mind.
Someone in particular.
"How are you liking tonight so far?" Hoseok asked.
"It's been... Fun," she said with a bit of effort. She could practically feel the alcohol kick in, punching through her tolerance and coming out victorious. Her Korean was turning into a heavily accented mess, but everyone was too wasted to notice, anyway.
"Oh yeah? How could we make it more fun?" he said with a drunken laugh. Namjoon cleared his throat from the other side of the room.
"Okay, okay, that's enough," he said sternly. Hoseok snorted.
"Being overprotective, are we?"
"Seriously, guys... Not cool..." Namjoon said, scratching his head. Jin turned to Rein.
"You know, he gets drunk like the rest of us most of the time... He probably wanted to stay sober for you," he said, jabbing his thumb toward the embarrassed rapper. Namjoon shook his head at Rein.
"I am extremely drunk right now. This is me totally wasted," he said, and it looked like he was trying to convince himself more than her. Rein nodded.
"I can see that," she said with a wink.
"You know... I think Namjoon likes youuu..." Jin whispered, his hands cupped around her ear like a child passing secrets. Namjoon rolled his eyes.
"I heard that... And hey, let's all be professional here," he said, glancing at Rein shyly before looking down at his lap. Hoseok and Jin looked over at Namjoon with a dumbfounded expression.
"He's so bad at hiding it, it's sad," the younger member said with a tsk. She and Namjoon locked eyes, and Rein gave him a bold smirk before talking to the other members, as if to say, is that true? She didn't bother to look back for his reaction, and she didn't feel the need to, either.
Rein thanked the concoction of tequila and soju in her system for her uncharacteristic confidence.

By 12PM, some of the members retired to their rooms by then. Surprisingly, Yoongi had not wanted sleep to come early like the rest of them, staying out with a few of the other members. Although, one couldn't call his current state of being as completely awake since he was absolutely shit-faced. Jungkook and Jimin were the first ones to go to bed, each murmuring a goodnight before Jimin took Jungkook's hand and led him into the hallway.
Frankly, Rein was having a fantastic time. She drank until she couldn't handle anymore, and then she drank some more after that. She was thoroughly intoxicated.
Rein lay down on the floor, engaged in what she thought was an intellectually-charged conversation with Namjoon. If her mind served her correctly, (which, at this point, was not a guarantee) she remembered him not drinking as much as the other members, only drinking a bottle at most. Yeontan started to lick her face, and she pushed the pomeranian away with a squeal.
Hoseok and Namjoon looked at each other with worried expressions. Rein's face was beet red, and she was talking about her favorite type of paper with the dog.
"We're going to stop drinking now, okay?" Namjoon said, taking the bottle of soju out of her grasp. She pouted, sitting up to take it back.
"No." She reached for it, but he was too quick, setting it down at the opposite end of the table. She giggled. "Getting rough, are we?" she asked, then giggled again, sitting up. He looked at her with what seemed like pity for a moment, then gave her a passive-aggressive smile.
"No, we're not getting rough. We're going to bed," he said, standing up. Rein frowned.
"Ngh... I have to call my driver..." She looked around for her phone, not noticing it was in front of her. He shook his head and braced her as she was about to tip over.
"It's too late for that," Namjoon murmured, "I've told my manager to contact yours. You can sleep over for the night." She looked at him, her mind suddenly sober enough to know that his hands were on her shoulders, squeezing reassuringly. Her heart started to quicken.
"O-okay."
"Can you move?" he asked, taking his hand off of her. Rein shrugged.
"Why would I want to move?" she muttered. Namjoon sighed. After inspecting her for a bit, he put his hands under her head and knees, picking her up as tenderly as he could. Her head lolled from side to side. Namjoon was still looking at her with concern. She reached up to touch him, now only vaguely aware of Hoseok's presence.
"You have a pretty face..." she whispered, pinching his cheek. He smiled as he set her down on the couch, touching his hand to hers.
Rein thought her heart would stop just then. She could feel his energy, how it was so alike to hers. He smelled like a mix of sandalwood and violet.
Before she realized what she was doing, she reached up and brushed her lips against his, so lightly that it was almost impossible to tell if it happened, but the expression on his face when she pulled back told her it had. Gently, Namjoon let her down without a word. Before she fell asleep, she smiled.
Rein swore he had kissed her back.
