❝GET THE HELL OUT.❞
To say that Mya was stressed would be a major understatement, and that was evident to anybody who laid their eyes on her for a single second. Her brows were knitted together, whilst her ocean blue eyes seemed constantly narrowed and laced in worry for her older sister, who laid in the hospital bed beside her.
Fortunately, Erin had woke up a few hours after the news had broke out that she had been assaulted, and the doctors had instantly checked over her to make sure that she was fine and there was no permanent damage. Luckily, the only damage that she had were the humongous bruises that adorned her porcelain skin, causing her to feel a massive amount of pain whenever she moved, hence why she had chose to stay in her bed rather than move around (let's be honest though, she would've chose to stay in bed anyways).
Of course, Lyric was right beside her girlfriend, squeezing the life out of Erin's hand, and anybody could tell that the brunette hadn't slept since the assault, shown by the bags which were hurriedly growing under her tired eyes, despite the fact that everyone, including Erin, had demanded that she had a small nap. However, the worry that she felt prohibited the woman from closing her eyes for longer than two seconds.
Luckily, after the doctors had checked over Erin, they had come to the conclusion that she'd be allowed to leave the hospital later that day, which meant that both of them would be able to get some sleep in a comfy bed, and that the tour didn't need to be put on hold for a while.
Yet, Mya was still stressed.
Upon hearing the door to Erin's hospital room opening, the smaller blonde lifted her head up to lock her curious eyes on her awkward and stiff parents, who displayed barely any signs of even knowing each other, even though they were married and had made a promise to love and cherish each other "til' death do us part".
That was the reason she was stressed.
After hearing the screams, and after hearing the sound of a hand coming in contact with skin, and after reading the numerous articles about her parents having a divorce, the singer had become increasingly concerned for her parent's relationship and how hastily it was crumbling away, the small remains of it being left on the floor with no hope of being fixed.
"We're going to go back to the tour bus and sort things out for when Erin is discharged, so ring us when the hospital allows her to go." The Emerson's mother instructs the people in the room, mainly directing the comment towards Mya, Chandler, and Casey, as they were the people who she trusted the most in the room.
Instantly, Mya leapt out of her seat, her eyes remaining on her parents as she refused to let them go somewhere alone for obvious reasons, "Can Chandler and I come with you? I mean. we'd sort out everything a lot quicker if there was four people, rather than two, and the tour bus is a huge mess."
Whilst everything Mya said was true, it was also just an excuse for her not to leave her parents alone, as she knew that someone would probably end up being hit again if they were left alone in such a stressful and concerning time.
After a few moments of hesitance, Rosie Emerson eventually agreed to allow the couple to join them after she had sent a stern look to Jacob, which told him that he had no say in the matter and not to argue with her. To put it bluntly, Rosie Emerson was not a woman to mess with when it came down to her kids.
So, after saying goodbye to Erin, the four of them had set off back to the tour bus in an awkward silence, none of them knowing what to say whilst a huge amount of tension fell upon them, all of their eyes being downcast as the floor became interesting to them.
Although, it was obvious who was the cause of the tension, because, whilst Chandler had his arm wrapped around his girlfriend's waist and occasionally placed small kisses on her forehead to assure her that everything would be okay, the parents of the Emerson siblings stood as far away from each other as they could, not even sparing a single glance at one another or coming in contact with one another.
Upon seeing this, Mya wondered when everything began to fall downhill, and how she hadn't noticed it before.
Was she so wrapped up in her career and Chandler to even pay attention to her own parents?
Or were they just extremely good at hiding things? And, if so, what else were they hiding?
Soon enough, the four had arrived back at the tour bus with the tension being higher than ever as the parents demanded that the kids went to clean up the girl's room (even though Hailee was extremely neat, Lyric and Erin weren't, and that caused the floor of their room to be covered in random things), whilst they decided that they'd clean up everywhere else
Reluctantly, Mya decided to follow her parent's commands, knowing that she had to clean the girl's room eventually anyways.
So, her and Chandler were making sure that the room was absolutely spotless and there was nothing that the older sister could trip over (though she'd probably end up tripping over her own feet as soon as she stepped through the door), until Mya's ears picked up the sound of faint whispers, which sounded mildly aggressive, causing her to drop the article of clothing she had in her hands and put her finger up to her lips, telling her boyfriend to be quiet as he looked at her with curiosity.
"You know, you could at least act like you still love me!" Rosie muttered with anger and distraught laced in her tone, which only made her daughter want to give the woman a massive hug and never let go.
"They'd find out sooner or later; news articles have found out so they're bound to soon!" Jacob grumbled, though he hardly sounded bothered about the situation.
Knowing that this argument would probably turn violent like the last one, the youngest Emerson made the risky decision of leaving the safe confines of the girl's room, quietly making her way out into the hallway which allowed her to hear her parents more clearly, whilst remaining unseen to her parents.
"How are we meant to tell them about our divorce?"
Despite Mya already seeing this coming, her blue orbs instantly began to well up with tears, stinging her wide eyes which were laced with shock and sadness. Not knowing what else to do, the blonde female simply stepped out from her hiding space, releasing a small cough, causing her parents to snap their heads to face her with a shocked expression coating their faces, reminding Mya of deer in headlights.
Releasing a small chuckle, Jacob crossed his arms over his chest whilst his expression transformed to an unbothered one, yet again, "Well, it looks like we don't have to."
"Mya, what's going on?" Chandler questioned in a concerned tone, walking up to the three with narrowed eyes, wondering why the tension had somehow managed to get even worse than before to the point where it felt like it was suffocating him.
Though, Mya didn't answer her boyfriend's question, nor did she attempt to make any move to acknowledge him. Instead, she kept her eyes firmly locked on her parents, one of which seemed highly concerned and the other who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else.
"Since when?" Were the only words that the blonde could think of, so they were the only words that had left her lips, and them words alone were almost enough to make her burst out sobbing.
With an anxious expression on her face as she noticed the tears welling up in her daughter's eyes, Rosie managed to speak up, "We didn't want you to find out like this, honey."
"Well, she did. At least now she knows the truth." Rosie's husband spoke up, somehow managing to keep the smirk plastered upon his face.
Still not receiving an answer to the question she asked, Mya crossed her arms over her chest, sending a stern look to her parents as she repeated her question in a fierce tone, "Since when?"
"I-I-." Rosie stammered out, looking over at Jacob for help, whilst he simply shrugged.
"Fucking tell her then, bitch."
At that, Mya's eyes had widened even more and had become clouded with anger, which Chandler had easily noticed, causing him to place a hand on the female's shoulder in a small attempt to calm her down, though he knew it wouldn't work. Despite Jacob being the blonde's father, she despised anyone who even dared to insult her mother, as she had a much deeper connection with her mother due to Jacob always "working" and never being at home.
"Dad, what the hell?" The singer decided to stand up for her mother, knowing that the woman did not deserve to be treated so poorly, "Apologise to her. She's your wife!"
"Not for long."
Filled with rage, Mya blurted out the words that instantly came to her head, "Since when did you turn into such an ass?!"
Jacob Emerson definitely did not like being insulted - that become apparent when his expression contorted to one of fury, and within seconds, his harsh hand had come into contact with the side of Mya's face, the sound cutting through the silence that had filled the air, which was soon followed by a gasp from Rosie and Chandler's hurried footsteps as he pushed away Mya's father and pulled his girlfriend, as well as Rosie, behind him.
"I don't care if you're her father, get the hell away from her, and get the hell away from Rosie too." Chandler growled, his tone dangerously low as he directed his glare towards the violent man.
With a single tear trickling down her cheek, Mya managed to pull herself away from Chandler and stepped in front of him, deciding that she didn't want to be a "damsel in distress" and that she was able to stick up for herself.
And so, the blonde-haired woman lifted her head up to face Jacob, another tear dripping down her cheek as they escaped from her striking blue eyes that were now laced with fury, "Get the hell out."
"No."
Letting out a small laugh, which was most definitely sarcastic, Mya's eyes narrowed as she didn't recognise the man who stood before her, as it most certaintley wasn't the man who she called her dad, "This is my tour bus, not yours, so get the hell out."
And so he did.
