STOP 001. THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
Guide: ThatWeirdoOtaku
Recently my friend (and fellow member) Izzy ( Wizard-Hunter ) asked me how I did the butterfly thing in my current theme (and she dubbed it 'the butterfly effect') and I figured I'd show it here.
Apps Used:
Mainly PicsArt; a great photo editing app, I highly suggest downloading it if you intend to start making graphics.
Now please keep in mind that I did end up using Phonto to add text and Pixlr for some of its filters (Antonio and Alex basically), but this tutorial will solely be based on PicsArt as I am not showing you how to use/ do those things.
Step One: Building The Base
Now I didn't want to just randomly use a photo or something to do this, as realistically it would be used on a coverset or something.
The very first thing you want to do is build a background and png.
Here's an example of the ones we'll be using today:
Now open PicsArt and go into its effects. Under this, there is a blur section. We'll be using the blur tool and focal zoom to make the png stand out better on the background.
You should end up with something resembling this:
Next, go into Phonto and use that to add a title, subtitle if wanted and the author.
Step Two: Editing The Butterflies Png
Browsing PicsArt, there are literally thousands of these. Find one you like and save it to your profile, then apply it to a brand new picture (preferably one of a transparent background)
Once it's applied, go to tools and use adjust to change its color to match the color scheme of your cover.
Step Three: Applying The Png and Blending
Save this new one and open the previous cover you had set up in the last few steps. Apply the butterfly png to said cover in a layout that you like
Blend this new layout in and add a light texture
^here's the one used for this example,
Get it in a way you like it and you should end up with a cover resembling this one
Now do your editing, blending or filtering that you normally do.
End Result:
