when i was barely six
i used to hang socks
on christmas eves
hoping that santa
would give me gifts.
at least once, but no.
now i am a teenager
knowing there's no
old man in red & white
called santa claus.
but now as my lil' sister,
who is six years old,
hangs around socks 
hoping for presents
i know she'll get 'em.

i will be her santa claus.
