Emilia awoke in the middle of the night, she felt as if someone was staring at her.

Opening her eyes she looks around and is met with nothing, except Lorenzo who is laying next to her with his arm around her waist.

The room is dark and the moonlight shines through the window casting an eerie glow in the room. She scans around the room and nearly screams in fright when she sees a woman in the corner of the room staring at her.

She was a beautiful Indian woman, with long black hair, dark brown eyes, and tan skin. She was a tall woman, but what was the most surprising was her eyes, more specifically how much sadness was present in them.

She looks so tired and had a bittersweet smile on her lips as she looks between Emilia and Lorenzo. She starts slowly fading away into thin air, that Emilia thought she had imagined it, but what happens next made her gasp.

Help me, were the words that were written in a fire that had appeared in the air and remained there for a few seconds before disappearing.

She didn't know the woman but she feels as if she is closer to her than she thinks.

A woman lays on the dirty stone floors of the cell, the spell that she had cast had tired her out greatly. This was the first time in a long time that she felt her powers resurface.

She had a feeling it had something to do with her mate, who felt closer to her than ever. Smiling sadly she knew he had to hurry before it was too late, she could feel her life energy slowly slipping away.

A few tears fell from her eyes as she imagined her mate, a small smile was present and she fell asleep with dreams filled with the reunions of him.

Amara and Daniel were relaxing in bed but were interrupted when a guard came bursting through the door. "Alpha, Luna, you are needed at the edge of the border, they found Harper and she isn't looking so good," He told them while slightly out of breath.

They both jump up and follow the guard to where Harper was, if only they knew that this was just the beginning, before the series of unfortunate events would follow suit.

The guard comes to a stop to show Harper who was barely breathing laying on the ground with a rope that tied her hands and legs together.

They gasp and run towards her body and try to untie the rope but it burns them as it was dipped in wolfsbane. Daniel looks to one of the guards and tells him to grab a knife to cut off the ropes.

But as the guard steps forward an arrow pierces his heart and he instantly dies as the others are left in shock.

"Apologies, but the alpha has unfinished business with Harper, so she needs to come back as this was only a message," A man says as he comes out from his hiding spot in the trees.

Daniel and Amara growl while defensively crouching in front of Harper. The man smirks and whistles, soon more than a dozen men and women emerge from the trees with all kinds of weapons.

They outnumbered them by a lot which Daniel and Amara look at each other in worry while sneaking glances at Harper.

"I wasn't asking, I was demanding, either you stand down or die. It's your choice," The man says.

Releasing sighs, they stand straight again and reluctantly walk away from Harper. The man nods to one of his packs mates and she turns into a wolf to carry Harper on her back.

Daniel and Amara watch as Harper and the wolf is out from their view to glare at the man. "When can we have Harper back?" Amara demands to know the answer to her question.

"When you give the alpha back what belongs to him, then and only then you can have her," The man says.

"You have until tonight," He says before he and his pack mates run back to tell the alpha of their successful mission.

Daniel and Amara sigh in defeat, they don't know exactly who this alpha is, and they don't know what he wants.

"Alpha," Someone addresses the man who is once again standing in front of the window looking out at the breathtaking view before him.

"They've received our message, now only time will tell if they do their part."

The alpha sighs as he puts his hand on the glass, his mate, his lifeline is dying, he can feel it. He doesn't know how much time she has left but if he can rescue her then she can live.

"By nightfall we attack, prepare the guards for battle, Daniel and Amara need to know their place. Also, inject the serum into Harper's body."

The man bows his head by the alpha's words and quickly rushes out of the door to deliver the messages around the pack.

"My love, you're almost home," He says as he clutches a picture of his mate smiling at the camera.

Lorenzo awakens earlier than Emilia, he kisses her temple and pulls her closer to his body.

She hums a tune while wrapping her hands around his neck. Softly she trails her fingers on the back of his neck to his hair where she scratches his scalp.

"Hi darling," She says to him with a smile.

"Good morning, how was your sleep?" He questions while running his hand up and down her naked thigh.

"Peachy," She says while staring at him with loved-filled eyes.

He smiles at her, "I love you."

Kissing his lips she says, "I love you too."

Touching his mark on her neck he feels proud that she is finally his in every way possible.

He can't wait to grow old with her and see how much their family has expanded.

Seeing how much love is present in her eyes as she stares at him, makes him feel happy that she is not alone anymore.

Kissing her multiple times on the lips, he mumbles his I love you's over and over again, wanting her to know that he will always have her in his heart.

Little do they know that a war would brew, and there would be no secret that lives will be lost.

It will only be a matter of time of who and when people will start losing their lives.
